Panjab University, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Heartful Campus of Heartfulness  Institute, Hyderabad initiated its 7th International online Self Development  Programme (SDP) on 9th January 2021 which is  offering a unique opportunity to participants for  shaping their personalities as it  focuses on character formation and inculcation of core values to strengthen Inner-Self. The programme is uniquely designed by integrating the knowledge of the ancient Indian philosophical wisdom of Yoga with Heart centric approach of meditation.

            In the series of online session, the 18th session was held on 4th April,  on Soft Skills Development by using the approach of Self Exploration by guest speaker Ms. Rikita Swaroop, Master Trainer for MEPSC –National skills Development Corporation India from Ranchi, Jharkhand. She used Mentimeter to reach out to participants while making them think by asking probing existential questions for which they were forced to peep within to find answers. This was followed by anecdotes and sharing of lived experiences. The dilemmas which we face in our day to day living were highlighted beautifully by her. Values need to be discussed through jurisprudence and clarification approach was the message she gave to teachers. Teachers themselves have to practice those virtues about which they talk about in their class room.

            Earlier, the session began with yogic technique of body relaxation  followed by discussions on how a simple meditation practice can not only relieve the heaviness of the mind but takes on to create a new version of yourself, full of unlimited potential and excellence. 

            The programme was coordinated By Prof. Latika Sharma and Prof O. P.  Katare. The event witnessed an audience of over 100 enthusiastic participants including faculty and students from across the country.

            The talk concluded by reminiscing the beauty of the spring flower which begins again, the day you begin is a journey in its own. Overall, the session had a magical effect opening a new dimension and perspective in order to transform the personality.

            During the various sessions eminent experts from various fields deliberated on various themes including emotional strength, will power development, intuitional intelligence, stress moderation, time management and holistic health by sharing their valuable knowledge and experience with participants.

पंचकूला, 2 अप्रैल- हरियाणा विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता ने आज सेक्टर-3 स्थित ताऊ देवी लाल खेल स्टेडियम में तीन दिवसीय 15 वीं अश्विनी गुप्ता ममोरियल डिस्ट्रिक्ट बेडमिंटन चेंपियनशिप का उद्घाटन किया। अश्विनी गुप्ता ममोरियल ट्रस्ट और जिला बेडमिंटन एसोसिएशन के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में 2 से 4 अप्रैल तक आयोजित की जा रही इस चेंपियनशिप में करीब 125 प्रतिभागी भाग ले रहे है, जिनमें 2019 की अंडर 17 की नेशनल चेंपियन देविका सिहाग और रिद्धि कौर तूर और 2015 राष्ट्रीय खेलों के सिल्वर विजेता अक्षित महाजन भी शामिल है।


इस अवसर पर विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता, नगर निगम महापौर कुलभूषण गोयल व अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने दिवंगत श्री अश्विनी गुप्ता को पुष्प अर्पित कर श्रद्धांजलि दी।


मुख्यातिथि के तौर पर संबोधित करते हुए श्री गुप्ता ने कहा कि अश्विनी गुप्ता ममोरियल डिस्ट्रिक्ट बेडमिंटन चेंपियनशिप उनके दिवंगत पुत्र श्री अश्विनी गुप्ता की याद में पिछले 15 वर्षों से आयोजित की जा रही है।


श्री गुप्ता ने बताया कि श्री अश्विनी गुप्ता के आकस्मिक निधन के पश्चात उनकी याद में अश्विनी गुप्ता ममोरियल ट्रस्ट का गठन किया गया था। ट्रस्ट द्वारा उनकी याद में प्रतिवर्ष चार कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये जाते है, जिसमें यह बेडमिंटन चेंपियनशिप भी शामिल है। इसके अलावा रक्तदान शिविर और आखों के आॅपरेशन का कैंप और गांव में युवाओं को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिये कबड्डी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन भी किया जाता हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि बच्चों का खेलों के प्रति आकर्षित करने और उन्हें प्रोत्साहन देने के लिये हर वर्ष पांच लाख रुपये तक के इनाम वितरित किये जाते है। इससे ना केवल युवाओं का खेलों के प्रति रूझान बढत़ा है बल्कि उनकी ऊर्जा को सकारात्मक दिशा में उपयोग करके, युवाओं को नशे जैसे बुरी आदत से भी बचाने में मदद मिलती है। इसके अलावा अश्विनी गुप्ता ममोरियल ट्रस्ट द्वारा ऐसे गरीब परिवारों के बच्चों को भी वित्तीय सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई जाती हैं जो गरीबी के कारण पढ़ाई नहीं कर पाते।  


श्री गुप्ता ने कहा कि पिछले वर्ष कोरोना महामारी के कारण इस बेडमिंटन चेंपियनशिप का आयोजन नहीं हो पाया था परंतु इस बार यह निर्णय लिया गया है कि खेल प्रतिस्पर्धाओं को कोविड-19 के नियमों की पालना करते हुए जारी रखा जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने अपील की कि कोरोना अभी खत्म नही हुआ है और इसके बचाव के लिये सभी सामाजिक दूरी (दो गज की दूरी) बनाये रखें और मास्क व सेनिटाईजर का उपयोग करें।


उन्होंने कहा कि इस महामारी से बचाव के लिये हमारे वैज्ञानिकों ने कोरोना वैक्सीन बनाकर देशवासियों को बहुत बड़ा तोहफा दिया है। इस वैेक्सीन को लगवाकर इस महामारी से बचा जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस महामारी के फैलाव को रोकने के लिये वैक्सीन के साथ साथ हम सबको मिलकर प्रयत्न करने होंगे। उन्होंने बेडमिंटन चेंपियनशिप में भाग ले रहे खिलाड़ियों से विशेष आग्रह किया कि वे खेलों को खेल की भावना से खेले और कोविड-19 के दिशानिर्देशों का पालन अवश्यक करें।

Kumar, who completed the Master of Commerce programme of Panjab University with
distinction in 1983, for having assumed the additional charge of the Chairman and
Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) today, shared Prof. V.R.
Sinha, Dean of University Instructions, PU and Chairman, UBS. He also expressed that
it is a moment of pride for PU also.

Mr. Kumar is Director (Finance) of ONGC, one of the Global 500 companies, since
January 2018. Previously, he had a brief stint as Director (Finance) at Petronet LNG
Ltd, a role he took up in August 2017.

Mr Kumar joined ONGC in 1985 as Finance & Accounts Officer (F&AO). After initially
working in Jammu and Dehradun, he had a long stint at ONGC Videsh, the overseas arm
of ONGC. During his tenure with ONGC Videsh, Mr Kumar was associated with key
acquisitions and expansion of company’s footprint from single asset company in 2001
into a company with global presence in 17 countries with 37 assets. He played a key
role in evaluation and acquisition of many Assets abroad by ONGC Videsh.

He worked as Head Business Development, Finance & Budget and also as Head Treasury
Planning & Portfolio Management Group at ONGC Videsh from April 2010 to March 2015.
He then went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer of Mansarovar Energy Colombia
Limited, a 50:50 joint venture of ONGC Videsh and Sinopec of China, from September
2006 to March 2010.

ऐतिहासिक भीमा देवी मंदिर और संग्रहालय का निरीक्षण करते हएु उपायुक्त

पंचकूला, 1 अप्रैल- उतर भारत के खजुराहो कहे जाने वाले पिंजौर स्थित प्राचीन एवं ऐतिहासिक भीमा देवी मंदिर और संग्रहालय को राष्ट्रीय व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अलग पहचान दिलाने के उद्देश्य से उपायुक्त श्री मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने आज भीमा देवी मंदिर का दौरा किया और वहां इस दिशा में की जा रही विभिन्न गतिविधियों की समीक्षा की।


इस अवसर पर उनके साथ हरियाणा पुरातत्व एवं संग्रहालय विभाग के निदेशक श्री महावीर सिंह यादव व एसडीएम कालका श्री राकेश संधु भी उपस्थित थे। उपायुक्त ने मंदिर परिसर व संग्रहालय में सभी ऐतिहासिक स्मारकों का निरीक्षण किया व उनके बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त की।


उपायुक्त ने कहा कि पिंजौर के यादविंद्रा गार्डन से स्टे इस ऐतिहासिक भीमा देवी मंदिर और संग्रहालय को पर्यटन की दृष्टि से और अधिक विकसित करने की आवश्यकता है ताकि देश और विदेश से अधिक से अधिक पर्यटक यहां आकर इस प्राचीन धरोहर के बारे में जान सके। इस कार्य में जिला प्रशासन हर संभव सहायता करने के लिये तैयार है।


उन्होंने कहा कि पर्यटन विभाग की सहायता से मंदिर परिसर के प्रवेश द्वार का सौंदर्यकरण किया जाये। पर्यटन विभाग के मार्गदर्शक (गाईड) को इस स्थल के बारे में प्रशिक्षित किया जाये ताकि वो यहां आने वाले पर्यटकों को इस मंदिर के ऐतिहासिक महत्व के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी दें सके। इसके अलावा मंदिर परिसर में बड़े-बड़े बोर्ड लगाये जायें, जिन पर मंदिर के संपूर्ण इतिहास का संक्षेप में विवरण हो। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐतिहासिक भीमा देवी मंदिर और संग्रहालय पर आधारित रंगीन पंपलेट्स छपवाकर यहां विभिन्न प्रदेशों से आने वाले पर्यटकों में वितरित किये जाये ताकि इस धार्मिक स्थल का अधिक से अधिक प्रचार हो सके।

श्री आहूजा ने कहा कि भीमा देवी मंदिर एक प्राचीन हिंदू मंदिर है जोकि 9वीं से 11वीं शताब्दी के बीच का माना जाता है और ऐतिहासिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक स्थल है। 1974 में किये गये पुरातात्विक उत्खनन से इस मंदिर का पता चला और इसे प्राचीन पंजाब और ऐतिहासिक स्मारकों और पुरात्तव स्थलों और अवशेष अधिनियम 1964 के तहत एक संरक्षित स्मारक के रूप में घोषित किया गया।


श्री आहूजा ने कहा कि इस धार्मिक स्थल के बारे में लोगों में अधिक से अधिक जागृति पैदा करने के लिये यहां स्कूल के विद्यार्थियों, स्वयं सहायता समूह की महिलाओं के साथ साथ पंचायतीराज संस्थाओं के प्रतिनिधियों का निशुल्क दौरा करवाया जाये। साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान में पर्यटकों से लिया जा रहा प्रवेश  शुल्क को भी कम किया जाये। वर्तमान में आम जनता से 25 रुपये, विदेशी पर्यटकों से 75 रुपये जबकि बच्चों से 10 रुपये प्रवेश शुल्क के रूप में लिये जाते है।


उन्होंने कहा कि ऐतिहासिक भीमा देवी मंदिर परिसर में स्थित  संग्रहालय को और अधिक आकृर्षित बनाने के लिये यहां अतिरिक्त लाईटिंग की व्यवस्था की जाये ताकि रात्रि के समय यह और अधिक रमणीयक व आकृर्षित लगे। उन्होंने बताया कि यह संग्रहालय पंचायत्ना पुरातत्व शैली में बनाया गया है, जिसमें बीच में मुख्य मंदिर और चारों तरफ छोटे-छोटे मंदिर होते है। उन्होंने कहा कि मंदिर परिसर में स्थित संग्रहालय की चार गैलरियों की मरम्मत का कार्य पीडब्ल्यूडी विभाग द्वारा करवाया जाये।


पुरातत्व विभाग के निदेशक श्री महावीर सिंह यादव ने बताया कि मंदिर परिसर में स्थित बाॅवडी में बहने वाले पानी का संचयन करने के लिये जल संचयन परियोजना स्थापित करने पर विचार किया जा रहा है। इसके अलावा मंदिर परिसर के सौंदर्यकरण की एक विस्तृत योजना तैयार की जा रही है।
इसके उपरांत उपायुक्त श्री आहूजा ने निदेशक श्री यादव के साथ सेक्टर-12 स्थित नाहन कोठी संरक्षित स्मारक का दौरा किया और वहां चल रहे सौंदर्यकरण के कार्य का निरीक्षण किया।
इस अवसर पर पुरातत्व विभाग की उप-निदेशक डाॅ. बनानी भटाचार्य भी उपस्थित थी।

Chandigarh, April 1: –A meeting of Road Committee, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh was held today in the committee room of Municipal Corporation under the Chairmanship of Sh. Dalip Sharma attended by the Special Invitee Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh along with the other members of the committee namely Sh. Bharat Kumar, Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey, Smt. PU to conduct Special Exit/Final Semester Examinations

Panjab University, Chandigarh is going to conduct special examinations for the candidates who missed their exams of September – 2020 (exit/final semester examinations) due to medical/clash/etc. w.e.f. 7th April, 2021 in online mode, informed Dr. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examination.

            He further informed that the time slot for these ONLINE examinations is 5 PM to 8 PM.  The students are advised to follow instructions given in the questions papers and the duration shall be as written on the same. He further added that the number of questions to be attempted should strictly be according to the instructions given in the question paper itself.

Mayor flagged off 3rd phase of door to door waste collection through MCC vehicles

Chandigarh, March 31: – Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today flagged off the 3rd phase of door to door waste collection through MCC vehicles in Community Centre, Sector 50, Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Satish Kumar Jain, Additional Commissioner, and Smt. Heera Negi, area councillor, Dr. Amrit Warring, Medical Officer of Health and other officials of MCC.

The Mayor said that in order to implementation successful door to door collection of waste separately i.e. wet and dry waste, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has deployed their 85 vehicles in 2nd phase in sectors 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 49, 50, 51, 52, 55, 56, 61 and 63 in the city, which have reduced the problem of mixed garbage collected at garbage plant.

In addition to that Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today flagged off door to door waste collection through 36 MCC vehicles in Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Sorabh Arora, Joint Commissioner, Sh. Anil Dubey, area councillor, and Sh. Vinod Aggarwal, Dr. Amrit Warring, Medical Officer of Health and other officials of MCC.

The 36 vehicles will run in Mauli Jagran, Vikas Nagar and Manimajra door to door for the collection of waste separately i.e. wet and dry waste.

While sharing information about the door to door waste collection system through MCC vehicles, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that these vehicles will carry the waste from households to the transfer stations, from where the waste is transported to the garbage plant in loaders. All vehicles used in the collection and transportation system are monitored by a GPS enabled tracking system. The GPS system is constantly monitored by the monitoring cell. Any route deviations by particular drivers are penalized and multiple deviations is also grounds for termination, added the Commissioner.

He said that Chandigarh has been divided into 4 zones and 26 wards. Each ward has on an average 9600 households and commercial establishments of the areas. In Chandigarh, waste is generated from various sources including households, commercial areas and other institutions like RWAs, hospitals, hotels among others. The households or residential complexes are covered by the door to door collection system while the semi bulk and bulk generators are covered by the bulk collection system. With this facility, Chandigarh ensures the 100% coverage of wards through its door to door segregated collection system with deploying all the 390 additional vehicles, added the Commissioner.

श्री गुप्ता ने कहा कि सरकार द्वारा यह भी निर्णय लिया गया है कि वीटा बूथ पर दूध व दूध से बने खाद्य पदार्थों के अलावा फल, सब्जियां व हेफेड उत्पाद की बिक्री भी की जायेगी ताकि लोगों को प्रतिदिन उपयोग में आने वाली खाद्य वस्तुयें एक ही जगह पर उपलब्ध हो सके।
