Gupta honored 562 winning students of various competitions

Panchkula, November 14: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta said that with a view to ensure the overall development of children, various competitions are being organized by the State Government. This not only helps in inculcating the spirit of competition among the students but also increases their morale.
Sh Gupta said this while speaking as Chief Guest in the Prize Distribution Function -2022 organized by the District Child Welfare Council, Panchkula at Government Girls College, Sector-14, on the occasion of Children’s Day today. Honorary General Secretary, Haryana State Child Welfare Council, Chandigarh, Smt. Ranjeeta Mehta presided over the function.
On this occasion, Sh Gian Chand Gupta honored 562 students of 54 government and private schools of the district for achieving first, second and their positions in various competitions organized on the occasion of Childrens’ Day. Twenty competitions including painting, dance, clay modeling and Rangoli were organized by District Child Welfare Council in which 1550 students of upto class 12th from 80 schools participated.
Sh Gupta said that every year on the occasion of Children’s Day, various competitions are organized by the District Child Welfare Council to encourage the children towards studies and other curricular activities to enhance their morale so that they could become a responsible citizen and contribute in building a new Nation. Sh Gupta congratulated the winning students and inspired the others to work hard for the next competition. Hard work is the key to success; he said adding that by continuous hard work and dedication, one can achieve any heights in life.
Sh Gupta also called upon the children to contribute in making Panchkula more clean, beautiful and green. He said that children give the message of cleanliness and environmental protection through drawings and paintings. They should not only adopt the message in their life but also inspire others to follow the same. “I have given seven concerns to make Panchakula a smart city and children can contribute significantly in successful implementation of these concerns. These concerns include making Panchkula pollution, plastic, drugs, stray cattle, street dogs, slums and encroachment free.
Earlier, school children presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly appreciated by Sh Gian Chand Gupta.
Honorary General Secretary, Haryana State Child Welfare Council, Chandigarh, Smt. Ranjeeta Mehta said that 20 different competitions are organized every year on the occasion of Children’s Day by the Child Welfare Council. He said that from next year, efforts will be made to organize competitions in the theater category also.
Among those present on this occasion included SDM Kalka Ruchi Singh Bedi, District Child Welfare Officer Bhagat Singh, DEO Satpal Kaushik, DEEO Sandhya Malik, Principal, Government Girls College Sector-14 Richa Setia, Councilor Harendra Malik, District Vice President Sushil Singla, Rakesh Agarwal, DP Soni, DP Singhal, Students, teachers from different schools and other dignitaries.
