IGNOU December 2021 exam postponed

For Detailed News-

As per Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Headquarters notification vide No. – IG/SED/EXAM-II/December2021TEE/2022/5397 dated 06 January 2022, the Term-end-Examination of December 2021 which were scheduled from 20 January 2022 to 23 February 2022 has been postponed till further order due to increasing cases of Covid (Covid-19). Candidates will be informed about the forthcoming new schedule 15 days before the examination.

PU announces various Golden Chance Results

PU spokesperson informed that the results of B.Sc. (Medical Technology X-Ray) Part-II (Golden Chance) Examination September, 2021 and Bachelor of Arts 6th Semester, August 2021, P.U. Chandigarh (Additional/Improvement of Performance) have been announced.  The results can be seen at the respective Departments/Colleges or PU website.

The Centre for IAS and Other Competitive Examinations, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has announced admission for preparation of IAS (Preliminary) Examination.

 The Admission form are available at www.iasc.puchd.ac.in  under the tab ‘Forms’ and the applicants can submit their applications forms till 21st January’ 2022. The Final Year students for the graduates from any recognized University are eligible. The Centre is specially targeting aspirants of June’ 2022 Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam. The classes of the 4 months program will be conducted between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm and commence from February 2nd, 2022. The fee for General Category is Rs. 26,000/- + 18% GST while for SC/ST Category, it will be Rs. 13,000/- + 18%GST.

The course shall have experienced and distinguished faculty of PU and other Universities/Colleges delivering and disseminating lectures for this course. Centre regularly conducts Motivational and Special Lectures by Serving Civil Servants/Ex-Civil Servants/Bureaucrats/State Civil Service Executives etc. for the students of this IAS (Preliminary) Course. IGNOU extends Re-Registration up to 15th January, 2022

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online Re-Registration of all Masters and Bachelor programmes up to 15th January, 2022 for the January, 2022 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the January, 2022 session can be accessed from the link https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. The prospective learners can apply for Masters & Bachelor programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Sr. Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A. K. Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ Re-Registration form for January session was earlier fixed for December, 31.

MCC launches LED display van to create awareness about ‘Swachhta’

Chandigarh, January 4:- To accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage and to put the focus on Swachh Survekshan 2022, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has launched a LED display Van to create awareness about ‘Swachhata’. The van has been formally launched from sector 17 plaza which goes through Rose Garden today.

While sharing details about the display van, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh said here today that the display Van will cover all parts of city in one month period.

Ensuring best services to the citizens, the MCC has prepared video clips and audio visual promos to share the guidelines, parameters and awareness material. Video clips have been prepared covering important parameters including Segregation of waste at source level, door to door waste collection system, Home composting, plastic free city, zero waste events, construction & demolition waste management, use of public toilets through Google map etc.

With a motive for behaviourl change in the masses, audio and visual content on sanitation has been generated in easy language which is continuously played on the LED screens of the van.

MCC launches awareness campaign ‘My waste, my responsibility’

Promotes Home Composting in Aatamnirbhar Ward

Chandigarh, January 4:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh on Tuesday launched a awareness campaign on ‘Home Composting’ and ‘Segregation of Waste at Source level’ to encourage residents to take up the ‘My waste, my responsibility’ concept involving recycling of biodegradable waste into manure.

The awareness campaign has been launched at Aatamnirbhar Ward comprising areas Sector 29 and Industrial area besides Sanjay colony.

Following the instructions of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh the team led by SBM brand ambassador Ms. Kajal Mangalmukhi encouraged citizens to participate in home composting of waste produced in their respective households.

The home composting campaign involves door-to-door canvassing among residents to implement viable waste recycling methods like onsite composting pits and composting in buckets etc. Besides this Eco-friendly methods to recycle waste within households were explained to residents.

Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that instead of conducting awareness meetings in closed halls, the MCC has planned to meet residents in streets and encourage them to help the MCC in containing waste generated daily and dispose off wet waste at their own level through home composting.

She said that with the enthusiasm of local residents, ward no. 20 strives to be an Aatamnirbhar ward. 100% wet waste will be processed within the ward and 100% dry waste sent to Material Recovery Facility Station located at the same ward.

PU organises Annual Sports Prize Distribution Function

Panjab University(PU) Annual Prize Distribution Function for the session 2019-20 was held at PU Gymnasium Hall, today.

Former University Grant Commission(UGC) Chairman Prof. Dharinder Pal Singh was the Chief Guest at the function organised by the PU Directorate of Sports. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dharinder Pal appreciated the achievement of PU sportspersons at the national level by winning MAKA trophy.

In his address, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar called upon the sportspersons to aim higher and bigger to achieve big in national & international events. He also referred to PU achievements in sports.

DAV College Chandigarh received the overall General Championship Trophy A Division for Men & Women section for the session 2019-20. SGGS College, Chandigarh and GGS College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh received the Runner up Trophy for the General Trophy of Men Section and Women Section respectively.
