Most of Indians are aware of equity trading but very few are well informed about trading in commodities. Keeping this in mind, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a session on “Awareness about Commodity Derivatives and Hedging Mechanism”. More than 130 students, faculty members and people from industry attended the session.
Prof. Upasna Joshi Sethi, Director, UIAMS extended welcome to speakers of the webinar, Mr. Sanjay Ghakar, Vice President, Multi Commodity Exchange India Ltd., and S. Prabhakar, Regional Head, Securities Exchange Board of India and Mr. Chander Nath Pandey, MCX . In her address she said commodity trading is mainly done as part of a diversification strategy. Don’t put all eggs in one basket. Investors should invest in shares, bonds, commodities, currencies, etc. to get better returns.
Mr. S. Prabhakar, Regional Director, Securities Exchange of India apprised the audience on Role of SEBI, mandate of SEBI to protect investor, risk associated with investments and do’s and don’t of trading in market. He advised investors to invest wisely.
Mr. Sanjay Ghakar, Vice President, Multi Commodity Exchange of India in his address spoke about MCX platform ecosystem, the types of commodities traded and the regulatory framework for it. He highlighted that Average Daily Turnover for MCX was about R. 32000 Cr where Spot, future, forward transactions are traded daily in Bullion, Energy, agriculture and metal & alloys. He advised investors to stay away from a promise of getting fixed return on investing in MCX.
Professor Sanjeev Sharma, Professor,UIAMS proposed vote of thanks. He said that since UIAMS is starting MBA (Capital Market ) programme from this year. This webinar is step towards that direction and will strengthen industry-academia interaction.

चंंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने शहर में कोरोना वायरस के बढ़ते मामलों को देखते हुए 30 जून तक अंतर्राज्यीय बस सेवा बंद करने का फैसला किया है। जबकि चंडीगढ़, पंजाब व हरियाणा द्वारा चलाई जा रही त्रिकोणीय बसें चलती रहेगी। यह फैसला आज प्रशासक वी. पी सिंह बदनौर की अध्यक्षता में हुई वार रूम की बैठक में लिया गया है। बैठक में इसके अलावा अन्य राज्यों से हवाई जहाज व टे्रनों से आने वालो यात्रियों की पूरी स्कीनिंग की जायेगी व 14 दिनों तक घरों में ही क्वारेंटाइन किया जायेगा।प्रशासक ने यह भी आदेश दिये कि जो यात्री बाहर से आयेंगे उनको अनिवार्य रूप से आरोग्य सेतु अनुप्रयोगों को डाउनलोड करना होगा और स्व-निगरानी करनी होगी। जितना संभव हो सकेगा यूटी प्रशासन रैंडम चेकिंग करेगा।
बैठक में यह भी तय किया गया कि सड़क मार्ग से चंडीगढ़ आने वाले व्यक्तियों को स्व-जनित दस्तावेज रखना होगा, जिसे प्रशासन की वैबसाइट से मोबाइल फोन के माध्यम से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है। इससे प्रशासन को उनकी यात्रा और निवास का ट्रैक रखने में मदद मिलेगी। यह स्पष्ट किया गया कि यह दस्तावेज परमिट या पास नहीं है। यह केवल आधिकारिक रिकॉर्ड के लिए एक यात्रा सूचना दस्तावेज होगा। जबकि सरकारी / सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम / निजी कर्मचारी जो कार्यालय में उपस्थित होंगे, उन्हें पहचान पत्र के उत्पादन पर अनुमति दी जाएगी।प्रशासक ने पीजीआईएमईआर के बारे में अपनी संतुष्टि जाहिर करते हुए कहा कि चिकित्सा संस्थानों के बीच देश में दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया। उन्होंने पंजाब इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज को 10 अंकों की रैंकिंग में सुधार के लिए भी बधाई दी।जिलाधीश मनदीप सिंह बराड़ ने कहा कि श्रम विभाग के प्रयासों के माध्यम से, 800 निजी नियोक्ताओं ने बापू धाम कॉलोनी निवासियों के लंबित वेतन जारी किए हैं, जो कंटेनर एरिया के कारण अपने काम में शामिल नहीं हो सके। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि यूटी, चंडीगढ़ में 3,51,476 आरोग्य सेतु एप्लीकेशन डाउनलोड किए जा चुके हैं।

A team of wardens Dr. Rajeev (BH-1), Dr. Praveen (BH-5), Dr Nidhi Gautam (GH-5), Dr Jai Mala (GH-7) and Dr Avneet (WWH) organised a webinar for the hostel residents on the topic “Healthy Diet to fight COVID-19” by Nutritionist Dharamjit Singh ji, retired from Agriculture University, Gwalior.
The talk was on the healthy diet to be taken during this Pandemic. He recommended everyone to follow the traditional diet which was followed by our ancestors like air, water, sun and healthy food. He suggested everyone to have sun bath for at least half an hour daily during morning hours for Vitamin D. He emphasized on breathing exercises to boost our immunity for the proper supply of oxygen to our body cells. He advised to have water from the earthen pots. According to him RO water systems are not healthy for human body as it destroys all the minerals from the water. He advocated to have at least three earthen pots so that one can be used for water, second filled with water and put outside for 24 hours so that it can have sun and air, third one must be dried under the sun to avoid fungus. He suggested to keep a rotation of these earthen pots for proper utilization. He also advised everyone to add sprouts, seasonal fruit and soya milk to the daily diet.
This webinar was attended by the more than 70 participants. There were lot of queries by the participants for which organizers have decided to arrange more such webinars.
चंडीगढ़, 10 जून – हरियाणा पुलिस ने पानीपत, सोनीपत और जींद जिलों में डेढ़ दर्जन से अधिक लूट और स्नैचिंग की वारदातों को अंजाम देने वाले एक गिरोह का पर्दाफाश करते हुए पानीपत से 5 आरोपियों को काबू करने में सफलता हासिल की है।
हरियाणा पुलिस के प्रवक्ता ने आज यहां जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि पुलिस की सीआईए टीम ने गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर पांचांे आरोपियों को जाटल रोड सौंदापुर के पास से गिरफतार किया जब वे एक और अपराध की साजिश रच रहे थे। पकड़े गए आरोपियों की पहचान सोनू (गिरोह का सरगना), राजेश, अनिल, संदीप और अमन के रूप में हुई।
उन्होंने कहा कि जाटल रोड पर गश्त के दौरान सीआईए की एक टीम को गुप्त सूचना प्राप्त हुई कि पास ही एक खाली पडे प्लॉट में चार-पांच संदिग्ध किस्म के युवक बैठे हैं, जो आपराधिक वारदातों को अंजाम देते हंै। पुलिस टीम तुरंत कार्रवाई करते हुए छापेमारी के बाद सभी पांच आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार करने में सफल रही। प्रारंभिक पूछताछ के दौरान, यह खुलासा हुआ कि गिरोह के सदस्यों ने अकेले पानीपत जिले में 9 वारदातों सहित कुल 19 लूट और स्नैचिंग की घटनाओं को अंजाम दिया है। यह गैंग मुख्य रूप से तीन जिलों में सक्रिय था जो ज्यादातर सेल्समैन को निशाना बनाता था और गिरफ्तारी से बचने के लिए अपराध करने के बाद फरार हो जाता था।

कोविड के सामूहिक फैलाव के खतरे के डर से और माहिरों द्वारा इस महामारी का चरम अभी दो महीने बाद आने के संकेतों की आशंकाओं के चलते पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरिन्दर सिंह ने गुरूवार को सप्ताह के आखिरी दिनों और सार्वजनिक छुट्टी वाले दिनों में सख्ती के हुक्म देते हुए सिर्फ ई-पास धारकों को ही आने-जाने की आज्ञा देने का फैसला किया है।
कोविड की स्थिति का जायजा लेने और इसके आगे फैलाव को रोकने के लिए राज्य की तैयारियों संबंधी बुलाई गई वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस मीटिंग में मुख्यमंत्री ने निर्देश देते हुए कहा कि मैडीकल स्टाफ और जरूरी सेवाएं मुहैया करवाने वालों को छोडक़र बाकी सभी नागरिकों को सप्ताह के आखिरी दिनों और छुट्टी वाले दिन आने-जाने के लिए ‘कौवा’ ऐप से ई-पास डाउनलोड करना होगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उद्योगों को सभी दिनों में सामान्य रूप से काम करने की इजाजत होगी। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने डी.जी.पी. दिनकर गुप्ता को इन निर्देशों का सख्ती के साथ पालन यकीनी बनाने के हुक्म देते हुए कहा कि बड़े जलसे होने से रोका जाये।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि ऐसे सख्त कदम विश्वभर में कोविड मामलों की भारी वृद्धि के चलते उठाए जाने अति आवश्यक हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सख्त बन्दिशें ही महामारी के चरम को जितना संभव हो, उतना टाल सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि इस वायरस को रोकने हेतु जल्द कोई दवा या इलाज न होने की संभावना को देखते हुए सिर्फ सख्त प्रोटोकॉल ही महामारी के खिलाफ लड़ाई का एकमात्र रास्ता है।
यह चेतावनी देते हुए कि महामारी आने वाले दिनों और हफ्तों में खतरनाक रूप धारन सकती है, मुख्यमंत्री ने मैडीकल और स्वास्थ्य माहिरों को कहा कि सख्त शर्तें लागू करें और दिल्ली से आने वालों के लिए लाजिमी टैस्ट सर्टिफिकेट को अमल में लाया जाये जहाँ कि बहुत चिंताजनक स्थिति बनी हुई है। डी.जी.पी. ने मीटिंग में बताया कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी से पंजाब में रोजाना औसतन 500 से 800 वाहन आते हैं।
मीटिंग के उपरांत सरकारी प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि माहिरों द्वारा समीक्षा करने के बाद दिल्ली से आने वालों पर कड़ी रोक लगाने का फैसला किया गया।
यह पक्ष सामने लाते हुए कि राज्य में बाहर से पहुँचे ज्यादातर व्यक्तियों द्वारा गैर-जिम्मेदाराना व्यवहार किया गया और स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों के पास रिपोर्ट नहीं की गई, मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जहाँ जरूरत है, वहां सख्त फैसले लेने पड़ेंगे क्योंकि मामलों में वृद्धि अभी भी जारी है और आने वाले दिनों में और वृद्धि होने की संभावनाएं है।
मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा सुझाया गया कि जब वायरस के लक्षण सामने आने को 3-4 दिन लगते हैं, इसलिए राज्य के बाहर के क्षेत्रों से आने वालों का सप्ताह के बाद टैस्ट किया जाये और इसी दौरान उनको सख्ती से अपने घरों में एकांतवास में रहने के लिए कहा जाये। उन्होंने घरों में एकांतवास को सख्ती से लागू करवाने को यकीनी बनाने के लिए पंजाब पुलिस के प्रमुख को निर्देश भी दिए। पंजाब पुलिस प्रमुख द्वारा बताया गया कि इसे लागू करवाने के लिए 550 पुलिस दस्ते काम कर रहे हैं।
निजी अस्पतालों द्वारा कोविड मरीजों के इलाज और हस्पताल दाखिले की ज्यादा फीस लिए जाने संबंधी सोशल मीडिया और अन्य माध्यमों के द्वारा मिली शिकायतों संबंधी मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा स्वास्थ्य विभाग को सी.जी.एच.एस रेट सख्ती के साथ लागू करवाने के लिए निर्देश दिए गए। उन्होंने कहा कि बिस्तरों की उपलब्धता और अन्य आंकड़ों की जानकारी लोगों को दी जाये।
मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा यह निर्देश मामलों के दुगने होने के समय में आई कमी को देखते हुए दिए गए हैं जो 31 मई को 22 दिन और 10 जून को 15 दिन हैं, जोकि दिन प्रतिदिन इस दर के नीचे जाने को दर्शाता है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि हालांकि यह दर राष्ट्रीय दर की अपेक्षा लम्बी अवधी की है, परन्तु दुगने होने के समय में गिरावट परेशानी पैदा करने वाला मसला है।
पंजाब में राज्य के बाहर से बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के आने, हालांकि इनमें से पॉजिटिव केस ज्यादा सामने नहीं आए, संबंधी अपनी चिंताएं प्रकट करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कोविड के खिलाफ राज्य की लड़ाई के प्रति कोई ढील नहीं बरती जायेगी। स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा पेश किये गए अनुमानों के अनुसार राज्य में इस महामारी का चरम अभी बाकी है और यदि मामलों के दुगने होने का समय घटने का यह रुझान रहा तो यह अगस्त के अंत में घटित होगा, को खासकर ध्यान में रखते हुए राज्य सरकार के यत्न और बड़े पैमाने पर बढ़ाने की जरूरत है। ‘मिशन फ़तह’ के अंतर्गत टेस्टिंग बढ़ाने और जल्द से जल्द मरीजों की पहचान करना इस संकट से निपटने की कुंजी है। स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अधिकारियों द्वारा मीटिंग के दौरान बताया गया कि अगले एक महीने के दौरान टेस्टिंग दोगुनी करें और घनी जनसंख्या वाले क्षेत्रों पर गहरी निगरानी रखें। मुख्यमंत्री को यह सब जानकारी देते हुए बताया गया कि चार और टेस्टिंग लैब जल्द चालू हो जाएंगी।

Chandigarh, June 11:-A meeting of House Tax Assessment Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Charanjiv Singh and attended by other members of committee namely Sh. Ajay Dutta, Smt. Sunita Dhawan, Smt. Kamla Sharma, Sh. Sachin Lohtiya, Ms. Shipra Bansal, Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor was also present as special invitee, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner and other concerned officers of Tax Branch, MCC.
During the meeting following current issues related to commercial as well as residential property tax were discussed:
· The committee members discussed and decided to organize camps in the markets and industrial area for commercial property tax payers in collaboration with the concerned Associations as per their requirement & demand. Settlement of arrears, other issues related to current year tax and other services related to their commercial property tax including amendment and correction in the bills be provided during the camps to facilitate the tax payers.
· The committee members discussed the mode of payment of property tax in detail and decided that the payment be accepted through only e-Sampark centres and the option through collection from bank be avoided in future so that the reconciliation of individual accounts be made more easier.
· The corridor infront of the Property Tax branch in MC building be cleared from the renovation work material and seating arrangements for the visitors/tax payers be provided keeping in view the social distancing and other precautionary measures for the visitors as well as the office staff of tax branch.
· The members asked the concerned officers of tax branch to prepare separate details of old year arrears and current demand bills to access the actual tax to be collected in the current year.
· The committee members hailed the decision of Mayor and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to extend the date of paying property tax upto 31st July keeping in view the COVID-19.
· The committee members decided that next meeting will be called within 15 days to review the progress of issues discussed and implemented in the interest of tax payers.
