NSS Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a Cleanliness and Plantation Drive today at Student Centre and AC Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh on the occasion of Baisakhi under the leadership of Dr. Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, NSS. Dr. Debabrata Das , Assistant Professor, Department of Geology also participated in the drive.
Around 50 NSS Volunteers and students of Panjab University showed lot of interest and enthusiasm in the cleanliness and Plantation drive. Oriental Arborvitae was planted under this drive.

Office of the Dean, International Students (DIS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized ‘Meet and Greet’ event (followed by Dinner) for International Students of PU on the eve of Baisakhi Festival. More than 50 students belonging to various countries suchas Mauritius, Nepal, Afghanistan and African countries attended the event.
Prof.Kewal Krishan, Dean International Students, welcomed the students and shared to facilitate admission of international students to PU.The students were apprised of modified admission guidelines for international students. As per the revised guidelines, the requirement of appearing in the Entrance Test is withdrawn from the academic session 2024-25 to facilitate admission in various Undergraduate/Postgraduate courses offered by the Panjab University. He also shared that the present fee structure is also revised for foreign national students of SAARC countries and underdeveloped countries for direct admission to PU. The proposal of offering hostel accommodation at reduced rate to such students is also in process.
Suggestions were sought from the students that how DIS office can help them to resolve their issues and problems in future. The students also appreciated the gesture of organizing such an event for the very first time for Foreign National students and listening to their problems.
Prof.Latika Sharma, Dean, Alumni Relations also interacted with the students and advised them to register as PU Alumnus after completion of their studies. Dr. Surinder Singh Bhinder, Professor Ajay Mittal and Dr. Vishal Sharma also attended the event.

पंचकूला, 13 अप्रैल- चैत्र नवरात्र मेले के पांचवे दिन आज श्री माता मनसा देवी, श्री काली माता मंदिर कालका व चंडी माता मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं ने कुल 23 लाख 46 हजार 292 रूपये की राशि दान स्वरूप अर्पित की।माता मनसा देवी मंदिर में लगभग 72,000 श्रद्धालुओं ने माता के दर्शन किए।
श्री माता मनसा देवी मंदिर में 19 लाख 40 हज़ार 106 रुपये, श्री काली माता मंदिर कालका में 3 लाख 97 हजार 286 रुपये और चंडी माता मंदिर में 8900 रुपये दान स्वरूप अर्पित किए गए।
इसके अलावा श्री माता मनसा देवी मंदिर में सोने के 10 नग और चांदी के 115 नग और श्री काली माता मंदिर कालका में सोने के दो और चांदी के 41 नग दान स्वरूप अर्पित की गये।

पंचकूला, 13 अप्रैल – जिला में रबी सीजन 2024-25 के दौरान सरसों व गेहूं की खरीद तथा उठान का कार्य सुचारू रूप से चल रहा है। सरकारी खरीद एजेंसियों द्वारा जिला की मंडियों में अब तक 2157 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं और 628 मीट्रिक टन सरसों की खरीद की गई है और 584 मीट्रिक टन सरसों और 30 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं का अब तक उठान किया जा चुका है। इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए खाद्य एवं आपूर्ति विभाग के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि सरकारी खरीद एजेंसियों हैफेड और हरियाणा वेयर हाउसिंग कारपोरेशन द्वारा पंचकूला, बरवाला और रायपुररानी स्थित अनाज मंडियों में गेहूं व सरसों की खरीद की जा रही है।
उन्होंने बताया कि 2157 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं में से 1550 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की खरीद रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी से, 482 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की खरीद बरवाला अनाज मंडी से और 125 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की खरीद पंचकूला अनाज मंडी से की गई है। इसी प्रकार 628 मीट्रिक टन सरसों में से रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी से 386 मीट्रिक टन सरसों की खरीद हैफेड द्वारा, बरवाला अनाज मंडी से 30 मीट्रिक टन सरसों की खरीद हरियाणा वेयर हाउसिंग कारपोरेशन द्वारा और 212 मीट्रिक टन सरसों की खरीद हैफेड द्वारा की गई। उन्होंने बताया कि हैफेड द्वारा 584 मीट्रिक टन सरसों का उठान किया गया जिसमें से 386 मीट्रिक टन सरसों रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी तथा 198 मीट्रिक टन सरसों बरवाला अनाज मंडी की शामिल है। हैफेड द्वारा रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी से 30 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं का उठान किया गया।
उन्होंने बताया कि 12 अप्रैल को हैफेड द्वारा पंचकूला व रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी में कुल 865 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं और हरियाणा वेयर हाउसिंग कारपोरेशन द्वारा बरवाला अनाज मंडी में कुल 482 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की खरीद की गई है, जिसमें से 65 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की पंचकूला अनाज मंडी व 800 मीट्रिक टन गेहूं की रायपुररानी अनाज मंडी में खरीद की गई है और कुल 6 मीट्रिक टन सरसों की खरीद बरवाला अनाज मंडी से की गई।

पंचकूला, 13 अप्रैल – हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री के अतिरिक्त प्रधान सचिव डॉ. अमित अग्रवाल ने परिवार सहित चैत्र नवरात्र के पांचवे दिन आज पंचकूला के एतिहासिक श्री माता मनसा देवी मंदिर में पूजा अर्चना की तथा महामाई का आशीर्वाद लिया।
डॉ अमित अग्रवाल ने धर्मपत्नी श्रीमती सोनल अग्रवाल, माता श्रीमती कौशल्या देवी और पिता श्री कैलाश चंद्र अग्रवाल के साथ महामाई के दर्शन किए और विधिवत पूजा अर्चना कर परिवारजनों और सभी की सुख एवं समृद्धि की कामना की।
इसके पश्चात उन्होंने मंदिर परिसर में स्थित यज्ञशाला में मंत्रोच्चारण के बीच आयोजित हवन यज्ञ में आहुतियां डाली।
इस अवसर पर श्री माता मनसा देवी पूजा स्थल बोर्ड के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी श्री अशोक कुमार बंसल, बोर्ड की सचिव श्रीमती शारदा प्रजापति, एसडीओ श्री राकेश पाहुजा और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति भी उपस्थित रहे।
