Chandigarh, July 7:- Chandigarh, July 7:- A meeting of committee constituted to enhance revenue sources of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today, which was attended by members namely Sh. Arun Sood, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Siddhu, Sh. Satish Kumar Kainth, Sh. Ajay Dutta and Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

For Detailed News-

During the meeting the financial status and sources to enhance the income of Municipal Corporation was discussed in detail and the committee members asked the concerned officers of MCC to provide following details regarding different wings to discuss in next meeting:

·        To curtail expenditure on establishment.

·        Detail of vacant properties in the rural area & urban area maintained with estate branch and building branch.

·        Status of properties of MCC located in all rural area and urban area (court cases, its status, upto date outstanding dues against each property).

·        Detail of initiatives taken by the Estate branch to enhance its revenue and recover outstanding dues against defaulters and auction of idle properties.

·        Creation on revenue records of villages.

·        One time settlement of defaulters.

·        List of verka and vita booths and rent thereof.

·        Advertisement revenue and its detailed status.

·        Booking of community centres, open space and holding of public functions.

·        Policy to rent out the rooms of community centres.

·        Detail of initiatives taken by the branch to enhance the revenue under Chandigarh Advt. control Act.

·        Status of Bus Queue shelters.

·        Status of circus ground, sector 34, Chandigarh.

·        Neon light advertisements.

·        Restructuring of Advt. Branch.

·        Latest status of 4th Delhi Finance Committee (DFC) report.

·        Detail of monthly committed expenditure increased as compare to expenditure of last year. Reasons thereof.

·        Imposition of green/entry tax on commercial vehicles.

·        Municipal Cess on purchase of vehicles/sale deed of properties.

·        Incentive based recovery system.

·        Policy of fixing of chairs in front of Dhabas.

·        To encourage RWA to take over all parks.

Mayor starts tree plantation drive in sector 4

Chandigarh, July 6:- Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh started tree plantation drive in a park, sector 4, here today in presence of Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, area councillor. During the drive total 25 saplings of different plants were planted including flowering and medicinal plants at a park having approximately 3.50 acre area infront of House No. 34, sector 4, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh has unveiled a special report titled as “Combating Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), A Case Study of Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. Manoj Kumar Parida, I.A.S., Adviser to the Administrator, Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home and Local Government, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Secretary Finance and Sh. K.K. Yadav, I.A.S., Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

During the release, the Governor appreciated the efforts of Municipal Corporation towards documentation and also suggested to work in smaller team in the community to assist and people to come forward for creating self awareness and testing.

The report was compiled with an objective to document the process involved and practices initiated by the corporation under the visionary and dynamic leadership of worthy Mayor and Commissioner so as to make aware the fellow officers and staff for lessons learned during the COVID crisis to meet out similar situations in future.

The report has covered initiatives undertaken by various branches of the corporation vis-à-vis Medical Officer of Health, Horticulture, Public Health, Building & Roads, DAY-NULM, Vendor Cell and Grievance & Redressal Cell of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

The report  has also highlighted the various social and community works undertaken by Municipal Councillors, experiences of officers and staff, various innovative initiatives like Humanitarian Relief Campaign by partnering NITI AYOG affiliated Civil Society Organizations, establishment of IT based COVID 19 Command Control Centre, Integral Convergence with other departments of Chandigarh Administration, sharing of municipal best practices on Global Webinar hosted by World Economic Forum, Mass Preventive Measures, Challenges versus Preparedness & Readiness for future, role of fourth pillar of democracy i.e. media and ethics and values.

The comprehensive report was prepared simultaneously with the field operations by a team of Capacity Building, Training and Research Cell of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh including Vivek Trivedi, Nodal Officer, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Asstt. Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Anshu Chandna, Monitoring Cell and Hitesh Kumar Gulati (External Consultant).

TVC meeting held

Chandigarh, June 30:- A meeting of Town Vending Committee, Chandigarh was held in MCC today under the chairmanship of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

For Detailed News-

During the meeting various important issues were discussed in detail and accorded approval for the following:

·        Request for rehabilitation of Chick, cane and cooler pad workers of 60 years old Chick Market situated near health centre, sector 22-C, Chandigarh was not approved.

·        Vending fees and Penalty up till June of registered street vendors has been waived off alongwith fine and penalties.

·        Approved the last opportunity for depositing pending dues by 31.08.2020 along with penalties of Rs 3000 and asked for the legal examination for the same.

·        Town Vending Committee generated 25Cr revenue will be used for Development and welfare of Street Vendors.

·        Four registered street vendors who submitted an affidavit for their four vending sites was not approved as per its non feasibility report for vending purpose submitted by engineering wing.

·        Committee Approved the amendment in street Vendors (Protection of livelihood and regulation of street vending), Municipal Corpation, Chandigarh Byelaws, 2018.

·        Issue of street vendors registered under MCC before enactment of street vendors act 2014 was asked for legal examination.

·        Town Vending Committee told that the Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh will launch the PM-SVANidhi from Tomorrow in Chandigarh.

Chairman in agreement of all the members of Town Vending Committee conveyed to SSP, Chandigarh that Police Department and Traffic Department to take appropriate action against unregistered vendors and not harass the vendors registered with Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. Also added to make sure SHO, Manimajra shall not harass the registered street vendor.

Other members of TVC including Sh. V.N. Sharma, Mrs. Sangita Vardhan, Sh. Sita Ram, Sh. Ram Pal, representatives from traffic police, SSP, SDM’s and other officials of MCC were present during the meeting.

MCC constitutes flood control teams

Chandigarh, June 25:- Keeping in view of the coming Monsoon Season, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today constituted  20 teams consisting of Officers/officials from Public Health divisions have been constituted.

F&CC meeting of MCC held

Chandigarh, June 25:- A meeting of Finance & Contract Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairpersonship of Smt. Raj Bala Malik and attended by Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Smt. Chanderwati Shukla, Sh. Dalip Sharma, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Smt. Ravinder Kaur Gujral, Sh. Vinod Aggarwal, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Jha, IAS, Special Commissioner, Sh. The Mayor and the Commissioner launched online “Employee corner” facility, where the regular employees of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh can see their salary slips, income tax deductions, status of increments and pension slips for all the pensioners of MCC.

The members of committee discussed various important agenda items in detail and accorded approval for the following:

·        The committee discussed the agenda regarding maintenance and functioning of Multilevel parking, sector 17 in detail and accorded approval to engage outsource labour/staff through GeM portal amounting to Rs. 18.57 lacs per annum additional to the previous approved expenditure.

·        Rough Cost Estimate for providing and laying water supply pipe line from existing water supply to booster near factory No. 560, Industrial area Ph-II, Chandigarh to improvement the water supply in the area at an estimated cost of Rs. 29.34 lacs.

·        The committee also accorded approval regarding providing one peon and one Date Entry Operator each for the camp office of officers at the rank of Zonal Commissioners.

·        The committee accorded approval to the reserve price @ Rs. 38.50 for 6 years period on lease bases of Mango, Jamun, Lichi, Chickoo, Guava, Loquat, Annar, Kathal and Peach fruit crop on the trees along both side of Purv Marg touching Sector 28 and 29 on one side and industrial area Ph-I on other side, Chandigarh.

·        The committee also accorded approval to the allotment of nursery sites at village Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh.

·        The F&CC accorded approval to run the Animal Birth Control programme with the existing staff initially meanwhile tender may be called once again to outsource the ABC programme. However four security guards will be allowed for around the clock duty at the ABC centre alongwith purchasing surgical packs/equipments, necessary medicines and dog feed for the captured and sterilized dogs during their stay at the ABC centre.

·        The committee also accorded approval to the agenda item regarding rate revision for printing of computerized water billing and preparation of master files by NIELIT Rupnagar with an increase of 6.60% of the existing rate i.e. 18 paisa +GST @ 18%.

·        The committee also accorded approval for agenda for providing free parking to the employees of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

Water Supply shut down

Chandigarh, June 25:- Due to urgent repair on 66 KV, Morinda, Kajauli DC line scheduled to be carried out by PSPCL from 9 am to 5 pm on 27th, 30th June and 3rd July, 2020 to sagging of new conductor on new towers & to dismantle old towers and conductor, there will be no pumping of raw water from Kajauli to water works, sector 39. Therefore, the timings of water supply for whole of the city shall be as under:

27th & 30th June and 3rd July, 2020

Morning Water Supply

From 4.00 am to 9.00 am-At full pressure

Noon water supply-No Supply

Evening Water supply

Slum, Colony & Village Development Committee Meeting held

Chandigarh, June 24:- A meeting of Slum, Colony & Village Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Bharat Kumar, Councillor and attended by other members of committee namely Jagtar Singh Jagga, Deputy Mayor, Sh. Hardeep Singh, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, Sh. Ajay Dutta, Haji Mohd. Khurshid Ali, councillors and concerned officers of MCC.

During the meeting the members decided to provide & install indicator boards in all the villages at entry points. The members discussed about the special budget dedicated to the development of villages and asked the concerned officers to prepare details of 25 crore budget alongwith ongoing projects and unspent budget before next meeting of the committee.

The members asked the engineers to check the water supply pipe lines and sewerage pipelines in some villages and appoint nodal officers for monitoring of the development works in these villages. The committee members asked the concerned officers to prepare details of 8 crore special budget spent on the village development during the previous financial year.

The committee asked the officers to table the agenda regarding bylaws of villages during the next meeting to tackle with the local problems. About dark spots, the members asked the electrical engineers to prepare details of MoU signed with the EESL for providing lights in dark spots throughout villages and put up in the next meeting. The members asked the engineers to replace damaged electric polls and wires to be fixed properly in the villages. The members also asked the public health engineers to replace sewerage covers in the villages. The members asked the engineers to repair the dug up roads, which were left open after repair work of water supply pipe lines in some of the villages.

Mayor calls meeting of B&R division MCC to review progress of recarpetting

Chandigarh, June 18:- Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh today called a meeting of B&R wing engineers to review the progress of recarpetting of roads work throughout city. during the meeting Sh. Sanjay Arora, Superintending Engineer, Sh. Ravinder Sharma, Executive Engineer and Sh. Ajay Garg, Executive Engineer, Roads apprised the progress of recarpeting works going on in different sectors. The Mayor asked the concerned Executive Engineer to complete the recarpeting of road at Vigyan Path in between sectors 5/8 within allotted time frame. She said that a detailed report in regard to recarpeting of roads be submitted to her weekly for reviewing the progress.

Gaushala Committee meeting held

Chandigarh, June 17:- A meeting of Gaushala Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairpersonship of Smt. Heera Negi and attended by other members of committee namely Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali, Sh. Anil Dubey, Sh. Jagtar Singh, Sh. Hardeep Singh, Sh.Dalip Sharma councillors and Dr M.S. Kamboj, convener of the committee.

Dr Kamboj briefed the activities related to scope of Committee like M.C. gaushalas, cattle pounds, stray dog population control, fish market sec 41 and slaughter House. The committee resolved following important issues:

*        pet dog owners shall be challaned for releasing pets loose in parks

*        Meat and fish market of sec 41 should be converted into general trade.

*        Open and illegal sale of chicken and meat shall be checked specially from residences and they should be issued notice initially, thereafter challan to be issued.

*        Pigs are increasing in Mauli Jagran area, they should be impounded.

*        Visit to cattle pounds in industrial area and new under construction gaushala at Village Rai Pur Kalan will be made on 18/06/2020 by the Committee.
