Adviser dedicates cremation ground, Ind. area, Phase-I, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, September-2:- Sh. Manoj Kumar Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh today dedicated the Cremation Ground to public at Indl. Area, Ph-I, Chandigarh in presence of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. S.K. Jain, Additional Commissioner, Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali, area councillor and other senior officers of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

          All the unclaimed dead bodies of Chandigarh will be cremated in this cremation ground. The MCC has started death certificate registration facility in this ground and the material i.e. wood and ‘Samagri’ etc. required in the cremation will be made available at the ground.

This cremation ground is spread over 2.25 acres area covered with boundary wall all around the cremation ground campus.  There are 36 Pyre Platforms with 05 of them provided with G.I. Sheet shed and to accommodate near about 500 persons, there is 32’x183’ RCC roof shed with seating facility.  The MCC has provided drinking water facility besides separate ladies and gents toilet/bathroom block and residence accommodation for attendant.

The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has awarded work to run & operate this cremation ground to M/s Trikaldarshi Sewa Dal, #803-A, Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya Complex, Industrial Area, phase-1, Chandigarh, Contact No. 9041784130, 9464395716.

According to the MoU the period of operation is initially for ten years and the same will be extended to another five years after assessing its performance. The procurement of fuel wood/other material will be arranged by the NGO and will be issued own no profit no loss basis and rates duly approved by the MC, Chandigarh. To maintain Cleanliness, Sanitary Condition, Greenery, drinking Water facility, Urinals & Toilets etc. is the duty of NGO. To maintain records and accounts including donation to to be funds and other monetary gain at Cremation Ground from General Public is the duty of the Cremation Ground. The organization shall clear Electricity & Water bill of their own level and to submit bi-monthly report of the same to MCC. The organization will disposed off unclaimed dead bodies as per MCC Policy. The organization will maintain Complaints book in the Cremation Ground.

CRRID organise skill development workshop

Chandigarh, September-2:- Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development organised a Skill Development workshop at Sec. 19, Chandigarh today. Smt. Asha Jaswal, Chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, MCC distributed hand made bags during the workshop in the presence of Smt. Sunita Dhawan and other members of the committee. She said that cloth bags will be arranged through sponsorship as CSR activity and distributed to the public free of cost.

Fire & Emergency Services committee meeting

Chandigarh, September 2:- A meeting of Fire & Emergency Services, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today in the conference hall under the Chairmanship of Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma and attended by the other members of the committee namely Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Smt. Farmila, Maj. Gen M S Kandal, Haji Mohd Khurshid Ali, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner and concerned officers of Municipal Corporation.

During the meeting various issues were discussed and passed the following agenda items:-

1.      The committee members approved an agenda regarding online payment gateway for issuance of Fire Safety Certificate.

2.      The committee approved an agenda regarding purchase of 30 nos Fire Fighting helmet with centrally torch for Fire and Emergency Services, MC, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.50 lacs.

INSPIRE today organized an HEALTH SEMINAR at the Ivy Hospital, Sector 71, Mohali

                        On this occasion, Sh. D .M. S. Bedi, Chairman, INSPIREhighlighted the activities of the institution and welcomed Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi and Dr. Gurpreet Singh, who are  from Ivy Hospital, Mohali.

                        Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi  (A Renowned Heart Specialist of the region), who is Director & Head, Cardiac Surgery at Ivy Hospital, Mohali interacted with participants on the topic ” How to Keep Your Heart Healthy”. Dr. Bedi gave tips for healthy heart by incorporating stress management, exercise, diet, avoidance of tobacco and regular check-ups, besides stressing on the importance of Yoga.

                         While interacting, he said “Today India is home to one out of every 10 senior citizens in the world.  With life expectancy increasing to 75.5 years, octogenarians constitute about 3 per cent of the population.  The older population in India, which was 56.7 million in 1991 and 72 million in 2001, is expected to grow to 137 million by  2021.” He said age is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease and the incidence of symptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD) requiring coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in the elderly is bound to increase. Around 40% of all octogenarians have symptomatic cardiovascular disease and a significant number of these may benefit from surgery.

                        Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Sr. Consultant-Internal Medicine, Ivy Hospital, Mohali interacted with the participants on topic ” Diabetes Management & Stress Management “.

                        Sh. Purushotam Mehta, Advisor, INSPIRE expressed Vote of Thanks and thanked the esteemed faculty, the participants and the management of Ivy Hospital for arranging an excellent Health Seminar for the members of INSPIRE.

MCC issues 104 challans for C&D waste violator throughout city

Chandigarh, August 31: – Following the directions of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, the B& R wing of MCC has issued challan to 104 violators from 9th August to 31st August, 2019 under Construction and Demolition waste provision.

As per the orders, the B&R wing, MCC today challened near about 60 violators throughout the city. Most of challans were issued to the residential violators having Rs. 1000/- penalty and challans were also made of commercial violations having Rs. 5000/- fine which will be recovered through water bill of the violators.

The commissioner appealed to the city residents not to stack their Construction and Demolition Waste outside their residence/Public places. He said that strict action would be taken against the violators.

He further said that MCC has established Construction and Demolition Waste Processing Plant at Industrial area Phase-I, Chandigarh and it is advised to the general public that the processed material i.e. washed sandstone aggregate would be sent to the C&D waste plant for its technical as well as scientific solution.

The public is also advised to approach MCC for lifting of their C&D waste material from their household/Commercial places in Mobile  7277190778.

F&CC meeting held

Chandigarh, A  meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh and attended by Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner and other members of the committee namely Sh. Baharat Kumar, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Sh. Shakti Prakash Devshali, Smt. Sheela Devi and officers of MCC Sh. Sanjay Kumar Jha, IAS, Special Commissioner, Sh. Tilak Raj, Sh. S.K. Jain and Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioners, Sh. Shailender Singh, SE(P.H), Sh. Sanjay Arora, SE (B&R) and other senior officers of MCC.

The committee members discussed and approved following important issues and agenda items:

1.       The Committee discussed and decided that 2 summer uniforms and one winter uniform will be given to safaikarmacharis annually.

2.         The Committee also accorded approval to the budget estimates for celebration of 33rd Chrysanthemum Show-2019 from 6th to 8th December 2019 the expenditure of estimated cost Rs 11.19 lac.

3.          The Committee approved agenda item to hire 2 welders (staff) for Horticulture wing and 2 welders for Sanitation wing alongwith welding sets through outsourcing.

4.        Rough Cost Estimate for Development of open Land between Patiala Ki Rao and Outer Phirni (From Pound to Police Station), Maloya, Chandigarh under Capital Head-“Landscaping” at an estimated cost of Rs. 35.10 lacs. 

5.        The Committee accorded approval to install Mini Hot Mix movable plant for Bitumen Mix by usage of Plastic Waste in Indl. Area Phase-1 Chandigarh with the approval that the plant will be run by engineering wing of MCC.

6.         The F&CC approved auction of 2 vacant Kiosk at Japanese Garden, Sector 31, Chandigarh and Disposal of Vacant Kiosk at Shivalik Garden, Manimajra, U.T., Chandigarh through open auction.

7.         Purchase of 5 Thermal Imaging Camera for Fire and Emergency Services of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs 42 lacs.

8.         Regarding the agenda for maintenance of Service Lanes, the Committee decided that 10 bush cutters be purchased in the Sanitation department and authorized Commissioner to decided whether the excavator-cum-loader and tipper required on permanent basis or on hire basis.

9.   The Committee also decided the agenda item regarding conducting IEC activities for Jan Andolan under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.

10.  The Committee decided to lease out the Night Shelters/Raen Basera building situated at pocket No. 2 & 3, Manimajra, Chandigarh to the Sadhna Society for Mentally Retarted Children for the purpose of running school of mentally retarted Children for a period of 3 years as per previous practice.

Mayor inaugurates free health checkup camp at Dadumajra

Chandigarh, The Civil Dispensary organized a free medical camp at Daddu Majra Colony, here today. Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh was the Chief Guest during the camp. In the camp all kind of treatments, checkups and medicines were given free of cost to the local residents. Patients who were weak due to several diseases also given high protein supplement at free of cost. Mayor also listen to the problems of the local residents and asked concerned officers to take necessary action to resolve the problems at the earliest.

Mayor and Commissioner takes stock of newly constructed water storage tank at sector 39 water works

Chandigarh,  Sh. Rajesh Kumar Mayor of Chandigarh and Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh today visited water works 39 to take stock of successful commissioning of trial run of raw water supply from Jandpur to Chandigarh under augmentation of water supply scheme phase 5 & 6.

The Mayor and Commissioner were accompanied by Sh. Shailender Singh, SE, Public Health and other concerned officers of MCC.

The team also inspected the newly constructed raw water storage tank having capacity of 6 MG, which was being filled by the water from Phase 5&6 and two UGRs to store treated water.

At present only one motor was pumping water from Jandpur pumping station. In the next few days all the 4 motors shall start pumping 35 MGD water from Jandpur to Chandigarh. This water will be treated in newly constructed 15 MGD water treatment plant at sector 39 and after stabilizing further supplied to the city by end of September, 2019.

29 अगस्त को फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट कार्यक्रम के तहत जिला पंचकूला में विभिन्न गतिविधियां आयोजित की जायेंगी।

पंचकूला, 28 अगस्त-

29 अगस्त को फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट कार्यक्रम के तहत जिला पंचकूला में विभिन्न गतिविधियां आयोजित की जायेंगी। इस दिन प्रातः 8.15 बजे सामुदायिक केंद्र सेक्टर-12ए पंचकूला से मैराथन आरंभ होगी और मैराथन के उपरांत सभी प्रतिभागी सामुदायिक केंद्र के कार्यक्रम में शामिल होंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि 10 से 12 बजे तक प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी सीधे प्रसारण के माध्यम से देशवासियों को इस मूवमैंट का संदेश भी देंगे।

उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि जिला में फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट के तहत विभिन्न विभागों द्वारा चलाई जाने वाली गतिविधयों के समन्वय के लिये अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त उत्तम सिंह को नोडल अधिकारी बनाया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस दिन जिला स्तर पर शपथ ग्रहण समारोह जिला सचिवालय के बैठक हाल में आयोजित किया जायेगा। इसके अलावा सभी राजकीय और प्राईवेट शिक्षण संस्थानों, आईटीआई, स्कूल व काॅलेज में भी फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट की शपथ ली जायेगी। 

उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र तक इस मूवमैंट में जनता की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिये सभी खंड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी कार्यालय तथा पंचायती राज संस्थाओं, सभी राजकीय अस्पातलों, प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों, सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों, आयुर्वेंदि डिस्पेंसरियों, नगर निगम द्वारा निर्धारित सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट की शपथ ली जायेगी। इसके अलवा खिलाड़ियों और पुलिस कर्मियों की प्रतिभागिता के साथ फिट इंडिया मैराथन का कार्यक्रम तय करने के निर्देश भी दिये गये है।
