आज प्रात: पतंजलि योग समिति एवं भारत स्वाभिमान न्यास चंडीगढ़ (पूर्व) , ने पतंजलि के रजत जयंती स्थापना दिवस पर गवर्नमेंट स्कूल मलोया में योग शिविर एवं स्थापना दिवस का कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया। जिसमें युवा भारत के राज्य प्रभारी श्री जनक जी ने स्वदेशी की महत्वता के बारे में प्रकाश डाला एवं श्री तेजपाल जी सह राज्य प्रभारी, पतंजलि योग समिति चंडीगढ़ ने पतंजलि के योग के क्षेत्र में किए गए कार्यों पर विस्तृत जानकारी प्रदान की। श्री आरआर पासी राज्य कार्यकारिणी सदस्य चंडीगढ़ ने योग के मूलभूत सिद्धांतों की चर्चा करते हुए योग की महत्वता का वर्णन किया।इस कक्षा को संचालित करने वाले योग शिक्षक भाई राजेंद्र शर्मा एवं बहन अरुण शर्मा को विशेष रूप से बधाइयां प्रदान की। इस उपलक्ष्य पर महिला राज्य कार्यकारिणी की सदस्य राजेश कुमारी तथा श्री सुधीर आर्य, प्रेम जी, कृष्ण कुमार पांडे, भगवंत जी आदि जिला प्रभारी एवं साधक गण उपलब्ध रहे।
A team from New York State University comprising of Prof of Physics ,Dr Sunil Labroo, Prof James Mills from Environmental Sustainability along with 12 students from various disciplines and departments are visiting Panjab University Campus under the study abroad program.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor Interacted with the students and Professors of the New York State University and assured all sort of help from Panjab University to work jointly on the research projects and development of research facility on the campus.
Prof. Labroo assured VC to carry forward this initiative and work jointly with the faculty of Panjab University Chandigarh across all discipline.
Earlier, Prof. Nandita Singh, Dean International Students welcomed them and apprised them about, India, its rich heritage, cultural diversity and Ancient Indian wisdom and culture of sustainability.
Prof. Priytosh Sharma from Department of History delivered a talk on Indian History and how one should perceive India. He gave number of example stating how different narratives, folk lores and epics from the ages of Ramayana, Mahabharata and prunas shaped the Indian society and how it evolved. He quoted many stories telling why India is a multicultural society. He elaborated about the causes of conflicts in Indian society and how those have been resolved keeping with the Indian traditions.
During their stay, the students will visit different departments and research Labs of the University.
Dr. Jivesh Bansal, Librarian PU showed the various resources of the Panjab University. The students from the USA are of different discipline and few students of environmental studies have shown keen interest in studying the various problems faced by the country and work to develop sustainable solutions jointly with the students of PU.
This program is aimed to explore the possibilities of joint work opportunities. The two Universities will work jointly on the common research program and would have frequent student exchange under Study Abroad program in future as well.

Mrs. Kirron Kher appreciated the work done by the Municipal Corporation and said that this beautiful green belt will be beneficial for all people including young, old and children. She said that it is equal responsibility of public regarding upkeep of the parks. She said that Chandigarh is a beautiful city, known by its greenery and cleanliness.
She said that people should take benefit of the different schemes, started by the Government of India and should participate in the good governance programmes of local bodies. She said that Municipal Corporation always creates awareness about the beneficiary schemes of Central Government and people should come forward to avail these facilities near their doorsteps.
While addressing the gathering Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor said that Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh is providing the facility of Green Belts in city beautiful regularly. He informed about the main features of the Green belt having total area 12 acre from which 6 acre has been developed and the remaining part of 6 acres will be developed in 2nd phase. He said that Pond provided specially for Chatt Puja celebrations, walking track, benches, huts, plantation of ornamental trees, grassing and boundary etc. have been provided in the Green belt at a cost of Rs. 1 Crore. He said that different flower beds have been developed in this park having Zinia, Ficaus, Aricia palm, Raat ki Rani and Chandni flowers etc.

Chandigrh, January 3:– The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has taken a series of measures to help the city do well in the Swachh Survekshan 2020 starting from this week.
In this regard, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today called a meeting with the office bearers of Market Welfare Associations, Resident Welfare Associations and Chandigarh Hotel Association in MCC office.
The Commissioner said that ahead of the survey, the MCC appealed to all the associations in the city to involve themselves in the Swachh Survekshan 2020 and took part in this mega competition. He ensured that the concerned officers of MCC will look into the daily problems in their respective areas alongwith the office bearers or representatives of the associations for better results.
He said that the Swachh Survekshan is not just limited to cleanliness drives, but it has a number of components to deal with. They include garbage collections, source segregation, waste reduction and disposal, maintenance of toilets and many more. He said that every year the number of criteria to meet and the participation of Urban Local Bodies have been increasing. He said that the citizen involvement and their active participation is most important part to succeed in the Swachh Survekshan.
He said that for service level progress, contrary to one-time annual assessment in the earlier editions, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has asked the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to update Swachh Bharat Mission online MIS (Management Information System) portal on a monthly basis. The ULB data which was uploaded will be verified manually by officials interacting with public to make sure they are accurate.
He said that citizen feedback caters to 25% of total 6000 marks which includes twelve questions from public and also responses through Swachhata app. Direct Observation which carries 1500 marks has nine sub-components in it, where the team will observe whether residential/commercial areas are clean, are public and community toilets clean, whether all fruit/vegetable markets are clean and a few others. He said that door-to-door garbage collection, segregation, wet/dry waste composting yards, and a few others will play a crucial role in the results.
Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor (VC), Panjab University (PU), urged all to work unitedly for promoting excellence in all fields and this being much more relevant with respect to the visit of NAAC Team to PU in 2022, while addressing the PU staff members on the occasion of New Year at the Administrative Block of the PU Campus here today. On this occasion, he released the PU Calendar 2020 in the presence of Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions, Prof Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations and Sh. Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer. While greeting all on the occasion of New Year, PU VC solicited support from all to face all the challenges effectively for the betterment of the University. Chandigarh, January 1:- Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh today visited the temporary Night Shelters to take stock of facilities provided over there and health & hygiene. During the visit the Administrator also distributed blankets to the inmates living in these night shelters.
The Administrator visited four night shelters including night shelter near PGI, Sector 12, near Govt. Hospital, Sector 16, near local bus stand, Sector 17 and Sector 19, Chandigarh.
The Administrator applauded the efforts of MCC Commissioner Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS and his team to provide such kind of facility to the needy people by analysing with respect to human needs of homeless the city. He also appreciated the facilities provided to the inmates living in these night shelters.
During the visit Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC apprised the Administrator about the facilities provided by the MCC to homeless at night shelters vis-à-vis water proof tent, wooden flooring, synthetic carpet on wooden flooring, provision of lighting system, emergency light, water camphor with disposal glasses, quilt, mattresses, durie, pillow, bed sheet, blanket, First AID box, heater, CCTV Camera, torch, register for enrolment, Security Guard 24X7, two staff (Day and night), fire extinguisher etc.
In addition to that the Administrator also visited Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh and appreciated the cleanliness over there and making the plaza area live to the visitors as well as the citizens.

Chandigarh, December 31:- A meeting of Finance & Contract Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Rajesh Kumar and attended by Sh. K.K.
