The online Art Initiative,’How Green Was My Valley ‘ was conceived as a curatorial initiative by Art History and Visual Arts Department Panjab University Chandigarh , in association with Manasollasa Art, showcasing Art in the times of quarantine and social distancing due to Covid-19 pandemic 2020 , a situation that completely changed our perspective towards life and thus, connected us globally more than we could ever have imagined . It is a time to sit back and recapitulate on how we as humans have hurt nature..Prakriti , whom we address as our Mother in the Indian parlance.
‘How Green Was My Valley ’, has been contextualized and curated by Dr. Tirthankar Bhattacharya, Chairperson to delve into the relevance of Art owing to its therapeutic and visual appeal . The participants are artists , art lovers and art connoisseurs. The Initiative that he undertook while sitting at home received an overwhelming response from colleagues, friends , alumni & students breaking the geographic barriers , making it truly International . 34 entries were received from Chandigarh, Delhi, Assam, Bangalore, Calcutta, Uttarakhand from India and from New Zealand taking the show beyond national boundaries.
Raam Jator & Avin Sharma, PhD Research Scholars helped in coordinating this Initiative which included structuring ideas to designing the attractive online exhibition and collating the art works .
1,07,300 food packets distributed in 32 days; UT SSP IPS Nilambari Jagadale distributed the food on last day
The Joshi Foundation and Heart Foundation today announced closing of their community kitchen, set up to cater the needy persons in the Covid-19 crisis, at the Sector 15 community kitchen today.
On the last day, UT SSP Mrs. Nilambari Jagadale, IPS, handed over the last consignment of free food packets to the UT Administration. The service today ended on its 32nd day, as it was started on April 3.
As many as 1,07,300 food packets were distributed among the needy, poor, downtrodden. Under this ‘Jan Jan Bhojan’, free food packets were distributed at Sectors 14, 15, 16, 24, PGI, Panjab University and also at periphery areas including, Kachi Colony Dhanas, EWS Colony Dhanas, Small Flats Maloya and Nayagaon. According to Vineet Joshi, Chairman of Joshi Foundation, the service was started with a sole aim of helping the needy people. “Till date, we have distributed over 1.7 lakh food packets. On daily basis, we provided 2000 food packets to the UT Administration and another 2000 food packets were distributed to the needy directly in various sectors and periphery areas of the city,” said Vineet Joshi.
Dr HK Bali, Chairman Heart Foundation, and Saurabh Joshi, President Joshi Foundation, also presented a vote of thanks to all the volunteers who made this community kitchen a success. “Our aim was to keep alive the spirit of humanity. We have done our best to bestowed the needy with food,” saidBali.
The Panjab University, Chandigarh including Regional Centres, Constituent and Affiliated Colleges shall continue to remain closed till May 17, 2020, informed Prof Karamjeet Singh, Registrar.
In addition, the guidelines being issued/released by the Government of India from time to time will also be applicable. These will be communicated separately, as and when these are received.

Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Singh Brar appreciated the efforts of Joshi Foundation and Heart Foundation for helping the needy by providing them food in this hour of crisis. Brar said, when the administration and government are working day and night to control Corona pandemic, the help from NGOs like Joshi Foundation and Heart Foundation is commendable. “I am happy that both NGOs are not only providing food packets to the needy persons, but also organises medical camps to help deprived section of the society. I hope, they will continue this noble work, so that such institutions can live as a live example of nobility for others,” said Brar.
“The Jan JanBhojan campaign was started on April 3 and till date has contributed over 1 lakh food packets. Daily two thousand food Packets are given to Chandigarh administration and around another two thousand food packets are distributed to the needy in Sectors 14, 15, 16, 24, PGI, Panjab University and also at periphery areas including, Kachi Colony Dhanas, EWS Colony Dhanas, Small Flats Maloya and Nayagaon,” said Vineet Joshi, Chairman of Joshi Foundation.
“The Deputy Commissioner took round of the community kitchen set up and specially praised the level of hygiene maintained during cooking, packing and distribution of food packets” said Saurabh Joshi, President of Joshi Foundation.

हरियाणा सरकार ने प्रदेश में सामान्य, लग्जरी और सुपर लग्जरी बसों के किराये को 85 पैसा प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर से बढ़ाकर एक रुपया प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर करने का निर्णय लिया है ताकि बसों की संचालन लागत, जो जून, 2016 में 37.48 रुपये प्रति किलोमीटर से बढक़र दिसंबर, 2019 में 52.23रुपये प्रति किलोमीटर हो गई है को आंशिक रूप से पूरा किया जा सके। यह वृद्धि वर्ष 2010-11 में की गई 25 प्रतिशत वृद्धि और वर्ष2012-13 में की गई 20 प्रतिशत वृद्धि से काफी कम है।
इस आशय का निर्णय मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल की अध्यक्षता में आज यहां हुई मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक में लिया गया।
संशोधन के अनुसार, साधारण बसों के किराये को 85 पैसे प्रति किलोमीटर से बढ़ाकर 100किलोमीटर तक की दूरी के लिए100 पैसे प्रति किलोमीटर और100 किलोमीटर से अधिक की यात्रा के लिए 105 पैसे प्रति किलोमीटर किया गया है।
इस वृद्धि के बावजूद हरियाणा में बस किराया पड़ोसी राज्यों पंजाब, उत्तराखण्ड, हिमाचल प्रदेश, राजस्थान और उत्तरप्रदेश की तुलना में कम रहेगा, जहां साधारण बसों का किराया प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर क्रमश: 116पैसे, 116 पैसे (समतल)/180 पैसे (पहाड़ी), 112 पैसे (समतल)/175 पैसे (पहाड़ी), 106 पैसे और 105 पैसे है।
राज्य में इससे पहले 30 जून, 2016 को बस किराया संशोधित किया गया था और साधारण बस का किराया 75 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर से बढ़ाकर 85 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर किया गया था। इससे पूर्व, बस किराया 4अक्तूबर, 2010 को 50 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर से बढ़ाकर62.50 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर और 13 दिसंबर, 2012 को दोबारा 60 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर से बढ़ाकर75 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर किया गया था।
हरियाणा में बस किराये में किए गए अंतिम संशोधन के बाद से, विशेष रूप से कर्मचारियों,डीजल, स्पेयर पाट्र्स, टायर-ट्यूब,लुब्रीकेंट, बस चेसिस, बस निर्माण लागत और बीमा इत्यादि पर खर्चे में वृद्धि के कारण परिचालन खर्च बढ़ गया था। प्रति किलोमीटर खर्च जून, 2016 में 37.48 रुपये से बढकऱ दिसंबर, 2019 में 52.23रुपये हो गया।
राज्य में बस संचालन लागत में लगभग 40 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई है। बढ़े हुए खर्च के परिणामस्वरूप,हरियाणा रोडवेज भारी नुकसान के साथ कार्य कर रहा है और रोडवेज को चालू वित्त वर्ष में जनवरी, 2020 तक 726.21 करोड़ रुपये का घाटा हुआ है।
राज्य में कल्याण गतिविधियों के दायरे का भी विस्तार किया गया है और 41 श्रेणियों को नि:शुल्क और रियायती दर पर यात्रा सुविधा दी जा रही है। अधिसूचित श्रेणियों को नि:शुल्क / रियायती यात्रा सुविधा प्रदान करने पर लगभग375 करोड़ रुपये खर्च हो रहे हैं।
अन्य प्रकार की बस सेवाओं,जिनमें हीटिंग, वेंटिलेटिंग और एयर कंडीशनिंग बसें (हरियाणा रोडवेज के बेड़े में जोड़े जाने वाले वाहन की नई प्रकार की सेवा) शामिल हैं, के किराए को 150 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर तक बढ़ाया गया है। इंट्रा-स्टेट लग्जरी वातानुकूलित बसों (दिल्ली और चंडीगढ़ को जोडऩे वाला इंट्रा-स्टेट लॉन्ग रूट पर पुरानी वोल्वो / मर्सिडीज बसें चलाने का प्रस्ताव है) वोल्वो / मर्सिडीज के लिए 175 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर और सुपर लग्जरी एयर कंडीशंड बसों, वोल्वो / मर्सिडीज (चंडीगढ़-दिल्ली-गुरुग्राम रूट पर परिचालन) का किराया बढ़ाकर 250 पैसे प्रति यात्री प्रति किलोमीटर किया गया है।
न्यूनतम प्रभार्य साधारण बस किराया (यात्री कर सहित) पांच रुपये होगा। व्यक्तिगत सामान के लिए किराया प्रति 40 किलोग्राम प्रति किलोमीटर के लिए साधारण बस के किराए का आधा होगा। इसी प्रकार, 40 किलोग्राम वजन से नीचे के व्यक्तिगत सामान के लिए कोई किराया नहीं लिया जाएगा।
हरियाणा रोडवेज देश के श्रेष्ठïराज्य सडक़ परिवहन उपक्रमों में से एक है। वर्तमान में, इसके बेड़े में किलोमीटर स्कीम की 485 बसों सहित कुल 4294 बसें हैं, जो 24डिपो और 13 उप डिपो से संचालित हैं। हरियाणा रोडवेज की बसें रोजाना लगभग 10.38 लाख किलोमीटर की दूरी तय करती हैं और 9.65 लाख लोगों को यात्रा सुविधा प्रदान करती

चंडीगढ़। कोरोना के कारण वित्तीय संकट का सामना कर रही हरियाणा सरकार बहुत जल्द कर्ज लेगी। सरकार के इस प्रस्ताव पर विपक्ष ने भी अपनी सहमति जता दी है। अब हरियाणा को कोरोना काल से उबारने के लिए सरकार द्वारा अपनी एजेंसियों से कर्ज लेकर प्रदेश के विकास को पटरी पर लाने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।
गुरुवार को चंडीगढ़ में मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल की अध्यक्षता में हुई सर्वदलीय बैठक में यह फैसला लिया गया। बैठक में उपमुख्यमंत्री दुष्यंत चौटाला, हरियाणा के गृह एवं स्वास्थ्य मंत्री अनिल विज, नेता प्रतिपक्ष भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा, इनेलो विधायक अभय चौटाला ने मुख्य रूप से भाग लिया।
बैठक में उपमुख्यमंत्री दुष्यंत चौटाला ने अपनी रिपोर्ट पेश करते हुए कहा कि 29 अप्रैल तक हरियाणा में लगभग 30 लाख मीट्रिक टन गेहूं और 2.90 लाख मीट्रिक टन से अधिक सरसों की खरीद की जा चुकी है। प्रदेश के 52 हजार 645 किसानों के खातों में सरसों के लिए लगभग 591 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान पहले ही किया जा चुका है। इसके अलावा, गेहूं के लिए 700 करोड़ रुपये की राशि भुगतान के लिए आज जारी की जा रही है जो अगले 3-4 दिनों में किसानों के खाते में पहुंच जाएगी।
बैठक में मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल ने बताया कि कोरोना के कारण सरकार को करीब नौ हजार करोड़ की राजस्व हानि हो चुकी है। लॉकडाउन अगर लंबा चला और पड़ोसी राज्यों के हालात सामान्य नहीं हुए तो यह नुकसान और बढ़ सकता है। बैठक में वित्तीय हालातों को सुधारने के लिए कर्ज लेने की बात पर भी चर्चा हुई। नेता प्रतिपक्ष भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा ने सरकार के इस प्रयास का समर्थन किया।
विपक्ष द्वारा कुरुक्षेत्र में खाद्य आपूर्ति विभाग के इंस्पैक्टर की आत्महत्या का मुद्दा उठाए जाने के बाद सरकार और विपक्ष ने इस पर अपने-अपने तर्क रखे। विपक्ष की मांग पर मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल ने इंस्पेक्टर आत्महत्या केस की जांच सीबीआई से करवाने का ऐलान कर दिया। बैठक में सरकार द्वारा झज्जर, सोनीपत, गुरुग्राम और फरीदाबाद की सीमाओं को सील करने की कार्रवाई पर भी चर्चा हुई। जिस पर विपक्ष ने सरकार का समर्थन किया। बैठक में मुख्य सचिव केशनी आनंद अरोड़ा, मुख्यमंत्री के प्रधान सचिव राजेश खुल्लर, गृह विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव विजय वर्धन समेत राज्य सरकार के अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित थे।

चंडीगढ़, 30 अप्रैल। हिंदी विभाग के कही अनकही विचार मंच की ओर से शुक्रवार 01 मई 2020 को ऑनलाइन परिचर्चा (वेबिनार) का आयोजन किया जाएगा। विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. गुरमीत सिंह ने बताया कि इस बार कोशिश की गई है कि जो बाहर के विद्वान है उनको भी वेबिनार से जोड़ा जाए। इसी कड़ी में इस बार चौधरी चरण सिंह विश्वविद्यालय, मेरठ के हिंदी विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर नवीन चन्द्र लोहानी मुख्य वक्ता होंगे। उल्लेखनीय है कि प्रो. लोहानी शंघाई अंतरराष्ट्रीय अध्ययन विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व आईसीसीआर हिंदी प्रोफेसर के रूप में दो वर्ष से अधिक समय तक कार्य कर चुके हैं। इस वेबिनार में हिस्सा लेने वाले प्रतिभागियों को चीन में भारतीय संस्कृति एवं हिन्दी भाषा की स्थिति के बारे में जानने का अवसर मिलेगा। इस परिचर्चा का विषय ‘चीन में हिंदी और भारतीय संस्कृति’ है।

An Online Session on Virtual Labs was organized by University Institute of Engineering and Technology(UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh on April 29, 2020 through webex. The Virtual Labs is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). The expert for the session was Mr. Prateek Sharma, Senior Field Engineer and Trainer, Virtual Labs, IIT Delhi. He has been providing training to faculty and students of different Nodal Centers across the country. UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh is one of the Nodal Centers of the Virtual Labs Project IIT Delhi.
This event was a great success with presence of around 40 faculty members of the organising institute and the other adjoining institutions nearby Chandigarh. This online session included an introductory presentation which included basic idea, need, motivation, objectives, features and impact of Virtual Labs Project by the expert followed by the practical session of the Virtual Labs. The workshop motivated faculty members to explore different experiments and practicals virtually within short span of time and with ease of access. This would also ensure continuous learning for the students during adverse conditions such as the present pandemic covid-19 and prepare institutes and their faculty members for online practical training and experimentation. The session was appreciated by all the participants.
