हरियाणाः कोरोना संकट के बीच लोगों के लिए मददगार साबित हो रही खाकी घर-घर पहुंचा रही आॅक्सीजन सिलेंडर

चंडीगढ, 14 मई – हरियाणा पुलिस कोरोना संक्रमण की दूसरी लहर में लोगों की बढ चढ़कर सहायता कर रही है। पुलिस के ’कर्मवीरों’ द्वारा सांस की किल्लत से जूझ रहे होम आइसोलेट कोरोना संक्रमितों को लगातार ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर उपलब्ध करवा कर उनकी जान बचाने में मदद की जा रही है।


हरियाणा पुलिस के प्रवक्ता ने आज यहां बताया कि पुलिस द्वारा यह कार्य सिविल प्रशासन के साथ मिलकर किया जा रहा है। oxygenhry.in पोर्टल पर आवेदन करने के बाद पुलिस की पीसीआर व अन्य वाहनों में जरूरतमंदो को तुरंत घर-घर आॅक्सीजन सिलेंडर पहुंचाए जा रहे हैं। महामारी की दूसरी लहर में सभी विभाग मिल कर आमजन का जीवन बचाने में लगे हैं। आक्सीजन की इस होम डिलीवरी से कोरोना मरीजों को नया जीवन दान मिल रहा है।


इससे पहले भी कोरोना संक्रमितों के लिए पुलिस ने आगे आकर पहल की है। पुलिस की 440 इनोवा गाड़िया जरूरतमंद संक्रमितों को निःशुल्क घर से अस्पताल और वापिस घर ले जाने के लिए सभी जिलों में दी गई हैं। ये वाहन संक्रमितों की सेवा में काफी मददगार साबित हो रहे हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, आॅक्सीजन सिलेंडर व कोरोना दवाओं की कालाबाजारी करने वालों पर पुलिस का डंडा लगातार चल रहा है।
लोगों के दिलों में जगह बना खाकी अब जैसे ही राज्य सरकार के निर्देश पर सिविल प्रशासन द्वारा घर-घर आक्सीजन सिलेंडर पहुंचाने का काम शुरू किया गया है, तो पुलिस के ये ’कर्मवीर’ बिना किसी डर के अंग्रिम पंक्ति में रहकर समर्पण भाव से जनता की सेवा में लगे हैं। प्रशासन की ओर से जहां भी आक्सीजन सिलेंडर पहुंचाने के लिए निर्देश मिलते हैं, पुलिस पीसीआर व अन्य वाहनों से सिलेंडर जरूरतमंद मरीजों के घर पहुंचाए जा रहे हैं। अक्सर शिकायतों से घिरी रहने वाली खाकी लोगों के दिलों में जगह बना रही है।

उल्लेखनीय है कि सरकार द्वारा जरूरतमंद बीमार व्यक्तियों तक घर-घर आक्सीजन के सिलेंडर पहुंचाने के लिये oxygenhry.in पोर्टल बनाया गया है जिस पर जरूरतमन्द व्यक्ति अपना पूरा ब्यौरा देकर सिलैन्डर घर पर मँगवा सकता है।


कोविड महामारी मे एक तरफ जहाँ पुलिस सडकों पर दिन रात डयूटी करके लॉकडाउन के नियमों की पालना करवाने मे लगी है वहीं इस कठिन समय मे पुलिस के वाहन जरूरतमन्दो तक सांसे पहुंचाने में लगे हैं। राज्य पुलिस द्वारा कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने सहित नियमित कर्तव्यों का निर्वहन करते हुए जरूरी संसाधनों की व्यवस्था करने में नागरिक प्रशासन को भी पूरा सहयोग दिया जा रहा है।

Mayor honoured Corona Warriors at ward No.13

Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today honoured the Corona fighter officers and officials of various departments at a programme held at community centre, sector 50 in presence of Smt. Heera Negi, area councilor, ward No.13.

The Mayor honoured the officials those who are working for providing medical kits, involved in Covid testing, collecting garbage from the houses of COVID positive patients  and taking care of their families in sector 49, 50, 51 and 63.

Workshop on “Brush Strokes” at UIFT & VD, PU

Chandigarh May 13, 2021

University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT & VD), Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a two days online workshop on fabric painting titled ‘Brush Strokes’. Around 60 students from M.Sc. and B.Sc. Fashion and Lifestyle Technology participated in this workshop.

This workshop involved ornamentation of fabric surface with colours. At the onset of the workshop, Resource person Mrs. Santosh Verma,an artist and a freelancer, elaborated  about fabric painting on different surfaces and products. She gave an online live demonstration on numerous techniques. Beautiful outcomes with the effect of shibori;  tape masking creating different shapes on the surface was practiced by students on a variety of products. Not only fabric painting but bangle making utilising left over fabrics was another added feature of this workshop.  Ms Kirti, Faculty with UIFT, coordinated this workshop.

Dr Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson UIFT & VD remarked that these skills can help participants in future to create their own products/label and market these on a digital platform. The participants actively participated in the workshop, experimented with techniques and prepared samples as well as products like T-shirts, head bands, bandana, bangles etc. Shivani Singh, one of the participants said, “It was a really fantastic and informative workshop. I have really loved the way it has been conducted. This workshop will help us a lot in our professional and personal life. We can also think of our own start-ups .Waiting for more workshops like this in future”.

MCC extends the date of depositing water bills till May 31

Chandigarh, May 12:- The Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh has decided to extend the date of depositing water bills till 31st May, 2021.

This was decided in a meeting held today between Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

The Mayor said that due to the COVID-19 lockdown period, the MCC has earlier extended the deposit date of water bills till 17th May but keeping in mind the present situation and ease to the citizens the deadline has been extended till 31st May, 2021.

MCC to bear cremation charges of poor people died due to COVID-19

Chandigarh, May 12:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided that the cremation charges of poor and needy people (death due to COVID-19) will be borne by the MCC.

This was decided by the Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner during visit of cremation grounds situated at Manimajra, Industrial area Ph-1 and Sector 25. They decided that cremation charges of the poor and needy people died due to COVID-19 will be incurred from the COVID cess.

During the visit to Manimajra cremation ground, the Mayor asked the concerned sanitary staff to maintain proper cleanliness over there inside the cremation ground compound.

The team was apprised by the Pandits at cremation grounds that Rs. 3000 are being charged for cremation and Rs. 1200 for Saamgri charges for the bodies died due to COVID and Rs. 1500 for Saamgri charges for the bodies died normal death.

The Mayor and Commissioner asked the Medical Officer of Health to display boards depicting the cremation charges, Saamgri charges etc. on the boards alongwith complaint number of MCC for any kind of assistance or complaint.

The Mayor asked the MOH to waive off the charges @ Rs. 30/- per body of LPG crematorium at Sector 25, cremation ground during the period of COVID-19.

MCC extends the deadline for depositing property tax till 30th June

Chandigarh, May 12:- Offering big relief to the city residents, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has extended the deadline from 31st May to 30th June, 2021 for paying the property tax due to the COVID-induced lockdown.

This was decided in a meeting held today between Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

The Mayor said that as per the practice, the residential property taxpayers will get rebate of 20 percent and commercial property tax payers 10 percent till 30th June, 2021 instead of previous deadline i.e. 31st May, 2021 for depositing the levy for the fiscal 2021-22.

3 Main Blocks of PU closed due to increase in number of cases

Keeping in mind the surge in number of cases in past few days in Administrative Block, University School of Open Learning, Aruna Ranjit Hall, of Panjab University, Chandigarh, a committee under the Chairmanship of Sh. Vikram Nayyar, officiating Registrar, held threadbare discussion on the matter in the presence of Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, Prof. Devinder Singh, Secretary to Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examination,  Sh. Vikram Singh, Chief of University Security, Ms. Renuka B. Salwan, Director, Public Relations, Deputy Registrar(General) and Assistant Registrar(General Branch).

The following decisions were taken as a measure to contain further spread of this highly infectious Corona virus:-

·         The Administrative Block, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall and USOL shall remain closed on 12th and 13th May, 2021.  However, the staff of these buildings shall work from home under the instructions of their Controlling Officers.  No staff of these buildings shall leave the station without the prior approval of their concerned Controlling Officers.  In order to attend to the urgent time-bound assignments and also to the matters concerning Students’/Research Scholars requiring immediate intervention, the concerned Assistant Registrar shall attend the office with concerned subordinate staff, if required.

·         All these three buildings will be sanitized.

·         In order to capture the information regarding COVID cases in employees or their immediate family members, possibility of creation of an online portal be explored, for which a separate meeting shall be convened by inviting Director, Computer Center and Chief Medical Officer of P.U. Health Centre for their inputs.

·         The situation shall be reviewed on Monday, i.e. 17.05.2021, to suggest other measures, if required.

UIFT’S Third Alumni Lecture on International Fashion Runway

Third lecture series ‘Learn the ropes with alumni’ was held today at UIFT &VD with Divya Bhagat. She pursued her graduation and post-graduation in Fashion and Lifestyle Technology from UIFT, Panjab University. After doing her Masters from UIFT, she did a course on Fashion Styling from London School of Trents. She worked as a Fashion Merchandiser in the Garment Industry and is now a Fashion Design Faculty with INIFD Chandigarh.  Around 80 students joined her webinar. She spoke about “International Fashion Runway” to the current students of the department.

Divya Bhagat, shared her journey with the students, what they should keep in mind and practice while they are pursuing their course.She motivated them to learn with in-depth study on fabrics, silhouettes, design, pattern and the making of garments. She also laid importance of doing regular internships so that the academic and practical aspect polishes the learner and makes him/her ready for this apparel/garment /fashion industry. She talked about opportunities that she got at UIFT when she back staged many fashion shows. She also shared her experiences working on different websites, working as a merchandiser and how she learnt about various fabrics and their drapes.

Divya gave an insight about the backend working of International fashion runway shows. She shared her experiences of being a part of London Fashion Week for 3 years, while explaining how international fashion designers work and elaborated the difference between working with national and international designers. Laying importance on Sustainability, she also elaborated how students can do a lot of DIY projects in upcycling of old clothes encouraging them to adapt sustainable fashion design practices. Later  she discussed the importance of social media in the upcoming fashion market.According to Divya “Being focused, working hard towards the goal and knowing the latest are important for a fashion design learner to be successful”.
