*Panchkula district administration provides Rs 12 lakh aid to the families of deceased in Pinjore*
*ADC hands over the compensation to the families of victims*
Panchkula, July 23 – In response to the tragic incident on July 10, where three lives were lost due to the falling of mountain debris on a slum at the Shiv Lotia Mandir Marg near Pinjore, Panchkula district administration provided timely financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakhs each to the families of the deceased.
Under the state government policy, compensation of 4 lakh is given to each member of the family of those who lost their lives in the disaster. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Varsha Khangwal handed over the sanction letter of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the victims by at Chaina Chowk, Pinjore today.
On this occasion, Smt. Varsha Khangwal paid heartfelt condolences to the departed souls on behalf of the district administration and assured the grieving families that the state government stands with them during this difficult time. She further said that all possible help and support will be extended to the bereaved families.
The financial assistance of Rs. 8 lakhs was provided to Mrs. Dhanwanti, the mother of the deceased Nandi alias Akash and Priya. In addition, the mother of deceased Karthik, Smt Pooja, was also provided with financial aid of Rs. 4 lakhs.
BJP District President Ajay Sharma, Municipal Council Chairman Kalka, Krishna Lamba, Tehsildar Kalka Vivek Goel, Project Officer Disaster Management Saurabh Dhiman, BJP Youth District Morcha President Akshardeep Chaudhary, Mandal Adhyaksh Naruta Ram, Municipal Councilor Suresh, and others were also present.
It may be mentioned here that the tragic incident occurred during heavy rains when the victims sought shelter in the slum. Unfortunately, they were caught under the debris when the mountain collapsed. The administration’s rescue team immediately responded to the situation and commenced relief operations. While Akash and Karthik were taken to the hospital, they were declared brought dead. Priya, too, succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
The district administration remains committed to providing assistance and support to the affected families and will continue to work to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
