District Environment Plan meeting held under the chairmanship of HSPCB Chairman P Raghavendra Rao
Panchkula, June 15 – The District Environment Plan meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Haryana State Pollution Control Board Chairman P. Raghavendra Rao at the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat here today.
The meeting was organized via video conference in which Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni, along with concerned officers from the district administration were present.
During his address, P. Raghavendra Rao commended the administration for their swift actions, resulting in a significant 50 percent reduction in incidents of stubble burning across most districts. He extended his congratulations to all Deputy Commissioners for their efforts. He emphasized that our primary objective is to safeguard the environment, urging all necessary measures to be undertaken for its protection. Rao further stressed the need for immediate preparation of the district environment plan in each district and its subsequent upload on the Pollution Control Board’s website.
The Chairman informed the upcoming organization of a training camp by the State Pollution Control Board. The camp will cover various topics related to environmental protection and pollution control, with mandatory participation from concerned officers.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni assured about the preparation of the District Environment Plan. She directed the officers concerned to update the District Environment Plan by Monday. The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted that the district administration consistently conducts various awareness campaigns to educate citizens on different aspects of environmental protection.
The video conference was attended by Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Dr. Richa Rathi, Regional Officer of Haryana State Pollution Control Board Ravinder Punia, and officials from the respective departments.
