Commissioner visits Sector 45 and Burail to take stock of issues related to basic amenities
Chandigarh, April 28:- Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today visited Sector 45 and Burail to take stock of issues related to basic amenities being provided by the MCC alongwith to see the violations in the area.
The visit was started at 6.30 am in the morning. This was the ‘on foot’ visit of Commissioner alongwith all the team of concerned engineers. The Commissioner was accompanied by Sh. Kanwarjit Singh Rana, area councilor, all Superintending Engineers and concerned Executive Engineers, SDEs, Junior Engineers of MCC, office bearers of Resident Welfare Associations and local residents.
During the visit the Commissioner asked the SE, public health to prepare plan for providing toilet blocks on outer phirni of Village Burail. She asked the SE, B&R that as the SSK in Burail is not in working condition therefore, proper planning for changing the SSK into multi-functional center for MCC field staff office shall be done.
The Commissioner asked the MOH for carrying out special drive for sterilization of stray dogs of village Burail. She asked the SE, B&R for removal of unauthorized cable/internet overhead wires in village Burail. She directed the SE, Horticulture for providing streetlight on internal road of village Burail
She directed the MOH for challaning of garbage vulnerable point in market area in village Burail and initiate legal procedure against the regular violators. She asked the SE, Public Health to prepare estimate for laying of sewer storm drainage system in the internal street of village Burail in Coordination with B&R wing within week. She said that provision of shallow tubewell for lowering of ground water level is also to be chalked out.
The Commissioner asked the Enforcement wing for removal of encroachment on the motor market at phirni road of village Burail by carrying out special consecutive drives. She directed the concerned officers for planning to convert the library/reading room into multipurpose room for citizen and removal of encroachment in Library.
The Commissioner asked the concerned engineers for repair/replacement of paver blocks on the internal street of village Burail and to provide concrete flooring on phirni road in place of paver blocks to avoid uneven and undulation, feasibility to be checked alongwith to check the feasibility of phirni road to relay.
