IGNOU extends Admission up to 30th September, 2019

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online fresh admission of all Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes except MCA/BCA/MP/Certificate up to 30th September, 2019 for the July-2019 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2019 session can be accessed from the link http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. The prospective learners can apply for Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for July session was earlier fixed for August, 31st. 

For all those candidates, who have been planning to get admission in any of the IGNOU courses can apply for the same online. Firstly the candidate has to register themselves (if not registered) on the official website i.e onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Whereas those who have already registered can simply login with the id- password and fill up the application form for the admission in the July session at Indira Gandhi National Open University for 2019. Also, before filling up the IGNOU admission form, candidates must go through the general instructions, eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc . on the official website. Applicants can also download the complete details of the programmes from the IGNOU website or may contact at Regional Centre office at SCO-208, Sector-14, Panchkula.

MCC organizes Nukkar Natak at Sector 17

Chandigarh, September 15:- The Information, Education & Communication (IEC) team of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today organized Nukkar Natak and play under the “Plastic Free City” campaign in the INS&OUTS 7th Archibuild show 2019 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

During the play the team sensitized visitors against the use of plastic items and created awareness about “Jal Skahti Abhiyan”. The team has planned to roll out 100 nukkar nataks in different parts of city including schools, colleges, govt. institutions and public places to create awareness against the use of plastic items.

हिन्दी दिवस की बहुत बहुत बधाई व हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।

हर वर्ष 14 सितंबर को मनाया जाता है।

14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा ने एक मत से यह निर्णय लिया कि हिन्दी ही भारत की राजभाषा होगी। इसी महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय के महत्व को प्रतिपादित करने तथा हिन्दी को हर क्षेत्र में प्रसारित करने के लिये राजभाषा प्रचार समिति, वर्धा के अनुरोध पर वर्ष 1953 से पूरे भारत में 14 सितंबर को प्रतिवर्ष हिन्दी-दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

First fresher’s party at UIFT, PU

Chandigarh:

Senior students of University Institute of Fashion Technology, Panjab University today gave a warm welcome to the new students of the institute. Students of bachelor’s degree and master’s degree staged fascinating bhangra, hip-hop and music performances to entertain the newcomers. In addition to this, a host of games were planned- including tongue twisters to keep the audience engaged.

“The event was organised keeping in mind the sensitivity towards new students and the need for seniors to befriend the newcomers and make them comfortable in the university atmosphere,” said Kirti Sheron and Jasleen Kaur, UIFT faculty members who were a part of organising committee. Away from stress of settling in new environment, this fresher’s party for a breather for them and they loved the idea,” said Dikshita, a student of BSc (Third Semester) who was a part of organising team.  “We are extremely indebted to the department, to the teaching faculty and senior students for having
hosted this get-together. We feel special and deeply touched by the warmth,” said Bhupinder, a student of BSc (First Semester) who received title of Mr. Fresher. UIFT Chairperson Dr. Prabhdip Brar encouraged students to continue such activities and expressed her happiness that students have decided to add freshers party and farewell officially to the department activites.

सफाई कर्मियों द्वार वेतन बढ़ौतरी के लिये आज मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहरलाल का आभार व्यक्त करने के लिये सेक्टर-4 पंचकूला में एक बैठक का आयोजन किया गया।

पंचकूला, 12 सितंबर-

वाईस चेयरमैन इंजीनियर कृष्ण कुमार के साथ बैठक कर सफाई कर्मचारी मुख्यमंत्री का आभार प्रकट करते हुए।

सफाई कर्मियों द्वार वेतन बढ़ौतरी के लिये आज मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहरलाल का आभार व्यक्त करने के लिये सेक्टर-4 पंचकूला में एक बैठक का आयोजन किया गया। इस बैठक की अध्यक्षता राज्य सफाई कर्मचारी आयोग के वाईस चेयरमैन कृष्ण कुमार ने की। 

सफाई कर्मचारियों ने कहा कि प्रदेश के पहले मुख्यमंत्री है जिन्होंने समाज के हर वर्ग के कल्याण के लिये कार्यक्रम लागू किये है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री ने शहरी क्षेत्र के सफाई कर्मचारियों का वेतन 13500 से बढ़ाकर 15000 रुपये तथा ग्रामीण क्षेत्र के सफाई कर्मचारियों का वेतन 11000 से बढ़ाकर 12500 करके प्रदेश के लाखों गरीब कर्मचारियो ंको राहत प्रदान की है। उन्होंने इस कार्य के लिये वाईस चेयरमैन इंजीनियर कृष्ण कुमार द्वारा किये गये प्रयासों की सराहना भी की।

Last date to submit applications at USOL extended

उपायुक्त ने सफाई व्यवस्था का किया निरीक्षण

हरियाणा अनुसूचित जाति वित एवं विकास निगम द्वारा वित वर्ष 2019-20 में जुलाई मास तक 27 गरीब परिवारों को आजीविका के लिये 19.30 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई है।

पंचकूला, 11 सितंबर-

हरियाणा अनुसूचित जाति वित एवं विकास निगम द्वारा वित वर्ष 2019-20 में जुलाई मास तक 27 गरीब परिवारों को आजीविका के लिये 19.30 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई है।

उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने यह जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि हरियाणा अनुसूचित जाति वित एवं विकास निगम द्वारा गरीब लोगों को पशु पालन, सूक्ष्म उद्योग, व्यापार व आजीविका के अन्य कार्यों के लिये अनुदान दिया जाता है और बैंकों से ऋण सुविधा उपलब्ध करवाई जाती हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि जुलाई मास के अंत तक 27 गरीब परिवारों को 19.30 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई गई है। इस आर्थिक सहायता में 1.75 लाख रुपये का अनुदान, 53 हजार रुपये की सीमांत राशि तथा 4.02 लाख रुपये का बैंक ऋण शामिल है।

उन्होंने बताया कि इस अवधि में व्यवसाय आरंभ करने के लिये 19 गरीब परिवारों को 5.30 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई जा चुकी है। इसी प्रकार लघु व्यवसाय योजना के तहत 6 गरीब परिवारों को 13 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई गई है। 2 गरीब परिवारों को दुधारू पशु खरीदने के लिये एक लाख रुपये का ऋण व अनुदान उपलब्ध करवाया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि यह निगम अनुसूचित जाति के गरीब परिवारों के जीवन स्तर को सुधारने के लिये विभिन्न योजनाओं के माध्यम से सहयोग करता है। उन्होंने जिला के गरीब परिवारों से इस निगम की योजनाओं की जानकारी प्राप्त करके, उनका लाभ हासिल करने का अनुरोध किया है।

Eco – Friendly Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated in GH-8, PU

Chandigarh:

A six days long Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in the Girls Hostel No. 8 of Panjab University by the residents and staff members of the Hostel.  Ganpati Sthapana took place on 2nd September, 2019 at 8:00 AM in the morning. Morning and evening aarti was done by the residents.  Prof. Neena Capalash, Dean Student Welfare (Women), Wardens of hostels, staff members and hostel residents actively participated in the event. The Ganpati Visarjan took place today after bhajans and aarti in the hostel premises. Students from other departments and other hostels also enthusiastically attend the event.  Keeping in mind the environment, eco – friendly idol of Ganesha made of mud,
after visarjan dissolved in water and Tulsi was planted in the pot.The event was organized to create a homely environment for the residents of the hostel and everybody participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Eye Donation Awareness Drive at UIAMS

Chandigarh:

University Institute of Applied Management Sciences(UIAMS), Panjab University, in association with NSS unit of Panjab University, under the guidance of program officers Dr.Manjushri Sharma, Dr.Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Dr.Ikreet Bal, and Dr. Vijayta Chadda, organized an Eye Donation Awareness campaign at UIAMS premises, as a part of National Eye donation fortnight being celebrated from 25th of August to 8th of September. This campaign aims to create mass public awareness about the importance of eye donation and to motivate people to pledge their eyes for donation after their demise. Professor Upasana Joshi Sethi, Director, UIAMS, welcomed the speakers and the guests for the session. Professor Navdeep Sharma, NSS coordinator, Panjab University, addressed the students and motivated the NSS volunteers and students of UIAMS to be a part of this noble drive.
       

The awareness session was held in collaboration with a team of doctors from Advanced Eye Care Centre, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Dr.Gaurav Gupta, Cornea Specialist at PGIMER, gave a presentation on the facts and myths surrounding the concept of eye donation. He highlighted that India is having one
fourth of world’s blind population, with corneal blindness as one of the major reasons. Still, our country is at the bottom when it comes to availability of donor eyes. This calls for an urgent and intensive drive to spread the awareness about eye donation as one of the foremost humanitarian task for all individuals. He urged the student
volunteers to spread the information on contact numbers of Eye Bank PPGIMER Chandigarh so that the donor eyes can be transferred to the eye bank with in the stipulated time of 6 to 8 hours ( 7087008200/ 9855464464; 01722756368, EXT.-6111; for a radius of 50 to 60 Kms around Chandigarh) Dr.Atul Gautam, Manager, Eye Bank at PGIMER, informed the students about the standard operating procedure followed for the processes involved in
eye donation, right from filling a pledge card for donation to counseling of family members at the time of harvesting the donor eyes. Four faculty members and 15 students pledged their eyes for donation after the session.

Cleanliness Drive at PU

Chandigarh:

  Today, NSS volunteers of Department of Evening Studies – Multi Disciplinary Research Centre Panjab University Chandigarh performed their third activity i.e.cleanliness drive after the students election, under the guidance of Chairperson, Prof.Gurpal Sandhu NSS Director, Dr. Navdeep Sharma and NSS Programme officer Dr. Nirmal Singh. The area cleaned included the Department of Evening Studies, along with the parking area. The activity began at 8:30 a.m. and around 40 volunteers contributed to it, which included the students from B.A., B.Com. and M.A. courses. The volunteers showed their dedication by performing the activity in an efficient manner.
