Chandigarh, December 18:- Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh today launched the “Neki Ki Deewar” scheme of Municipal Corporation, here at Community Centre, Sector 8, Chandigarh in presence of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, area councilor, Sh. Sorabh Arora, Joint Commissioner, Dr. Amrit Waring, MOH and other concerned officers of MCC.

During the launch, the Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation will start this type of facility throughout Chandigarh outside the Community Centres of MCC in phases. She said that kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see and in today’s time, it is a language which the world needs most.

The Mayor said that while, everyone is focusing on living a luxury and comfortable life, there are still many people who have a desire to bring happiness in life of others as well. People leave their old clothes, old blankets, sheets, shoes and other items on this so that it can be used by the needy people, added the Mayor.

Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that there are many people in the city who are helping the needy by taking care of them and putting all the things on the wall of kindness that can help the poor and needy people. He said that people in need get clothes from here and some people get blankets, sweaters, etc. He said that the MCC is also running a vehicle namely “Swachhta Swari” throughout city sectors and colonies including villages to collect clothes, bags, shoes etc.

He said that Municipal Corporation will provide this type of wall every sector in city so that everyone will contribute in this wall and serve the poor and helpless. He said that alongwith contributing clothes or other items its awareness is also necessary, otherwise there will be a wall but no goods will be taken from there  because those who have the goods do not know. He said that the MCC will create awareness about these walls to tell those needy people.

The Commissioner said that No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. We should help others as much as we can so that we can bring a smile on someone’s face.

Workshop on Quantum Computing and Cyber Security

The Programming Club of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, organized a 2-day online workshop on “Quantum Computing and Cyber security” on 15th-16th, December 2020. The aim of the workshop was to disseminate information to the students about Quantum Computing in the current technological environment and its impact on various technological fields in the future.

The first day of the Workshop included expert lecture by Mr. Aditya Yadav, CEO of Automatski Solutions, about current effects of Quantum Computing in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber security and Quantum Algorithms. A practical session on using Qiskit(a python library) to access Quantum Computers through the internet and designing quantum circuits was also organised.

The second day started with a keynote talk by Mr. Ravishankar Savita, Head of Emerging Technology at Virtusa based in New York City, USA about the research and various effects that Quantum Computing has brought into the world. He also spoke of three use cases that are based on quantum computing.

A panel discussion amongst leading industry experts was also held in which the current usage of Quantum Computing in the industry and what practical impact will it have in the future, as well as misconceptions about Quantum Computing, were discussed. The esteemed panel comprised of Mr. Arpit Mehta, Senior AI Architect at Microsoft, Germany, Dr. Krishan Saluja, Professor at UIET, Panjab University, Mr. Rajesh Dhuddu, VP and Practice Leader of Cybersecurity and Blockchain at TechMahindra, and Ms. Supriya Naik, Senior Incubator-Emerging Technologies at Virtusa.

The session was moderated by Mr. Sashank Bhargava, 3rd year BE IT, who was also the student co-ordinator for the event. The event witnessed huge participation from more than 240 attendees.

CHASCON2020 commences today in Online Mode at PU

The 14th Chandigarh Science Congress (online mode) CHASCON 2020 commenced today which
is being organized by Panjab University in association with Chandigarh region
Innovation and Knowledge Cluster(CRIKC).

 This event was initiated with a brief introduction and a warm welcome by the
Coordinator Prof Deshdeepak Singh.  Also, the Dean Sciences, Prof Prince Sharma
enlightened the students with his views about the event and its history.


Professor Anil Bhardwaj, Director, Physical Research Lab, Ahmedabad graced the
inaugural session and spoke   on the topic Indian Planetary Missions. He included
various aspects of space missions, Mission Mangal, moon solar Wind interactions, brief
introduction about Chandrayaan 2 and a lot more. Prof Anil gave his views on the
success of Mangal Yaan and he motivated the students to join Planetary Science and
pursue Space research. The students were motivated and inspired which was evident with
their curiosity, inquisitiveness and interest with which they added comments online. He
added that India had sent satellite to Mars for six months initially but India has now
got six years to get information from Mars which will be very useful for research
purposes.

The next speaker, Prof Amulya K Panda, Director, NII, New Delhi gave a very informative
talk about the recent Vaccines. His talk was focused on the topic Challenges in the
development of vaccines. He illustrated with his presentation that normally it takes a
decade for the vaccine to come to the market but what could be the major hurdles for
the coming of the vaccine in reference to the Corona Pandemic.


Nextly, a very eminent scientist, Prof MRN Murthy, AstraZeneca Chair, Institute of
Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore, gave an amazing talk on the
title the structural Biology of Coronaviruses. He emphasized on how SARS Cov2 is
evolving at a drastic fast rate and why the transmission rate is relatively faster than
other viruses.


The session for the Pandemic Covid 19, also included another prominent scientist, Prof
R Vardarajan, Molecular Biophysics Unit, IISc, Bangalore. He presented a very
informative talk on Immunogen Design for COVID Vaccine. He gave very useful insights of
what are the types of corona Vaccines being introduced till now and how we can fight
against the novel virus. He told about a very important aspect that these vaccines
don’t elicit a memory response, which can be a great hurdle in providing immunity.
Post Lunch, speaker, Prof Ravi Gupta, Medical Superintendent, GMCH 32, Chandigarh, gave
a talk on the ‘Clinical Management of Covid and the way forward for innovation’. His
talk was divided into three parts: their experience at GMCH and the Challenges faced
during the corona pandemic, the standard Treatment of COViD as of Today and Innovations
during Covid era.


The event was graced with another speaker, Prof Paula Videira, Glycoimmunology Group at
UCIBIO, Lisbon, Portugal. She delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Glycoimmunology: sugars
on the fuss for improved immunotherapies?’ She gave her insights into the different
glycans and how they play a role in providing immunity, acting as a receptor and many
more. Herein she explained how ACE2 Receptor in Sars Cov2 plays a vital role for high
transmission.


 Today ,around 400 students  joined the conference on CISCO WEBEX platform. 
The Students were delighted to listen to all the speakers and this was a great success.

चंडीगढ़, 17 दिसंबर-हरियाणा के उपमुख्यमंत्री श्री दुष्यंत चौटाला ने अधिकारियों को स्पष्टï निर्देश दिए कि मनरेगा के तहत आवंटित धन को दबा कर न बैठें बल्कि संबंधित योजनाओं को निर्धारित समय सीमा में क्रियान्वित कर जनता को इसका लाभ प्रदान करें। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को कहा कि वे विकास कार्यों के पूरा होने पर प्रमाण-पत्र निदेशालय को प्रेषित करें।


डिप्टी सीएम ने जिन-जिन जिलों में मनरेगा का कार्य गति नहीं पकड़ पाया है उनमें संबंधित अधिकारियों से जवाब-तलबी की और प्रदेश के हर गांव में मनरेगा स्कीम के तहत लोगों को रोजगार उपलब्ध करवाने के आदेश दिए। उन्होंने वीडियो कान्फ्रैंसिंग के माध्यम से ग्रामीण विकास विभाग की विभिन्न योजनाओं का स्टेटस जाना।

श्री दुष्यंत चौटाला ने मीटिंग के बाद बताया कि मनरेगा के तहत दिए गए टारगेट को विभाग ने इस बार समय से पहले ही पूरा कर लिया है। उन्होंने बताया कि वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए 140 लाख कार्य-दिवस निर्धारित  किए गए थे जिनमें से 125 लाख कार्य-दिवस नवंबर 2020 तक ही पूरे कर लिए हैं जो कि कुल कार्य का 90 प्रतिशत है। पिछले वर्ष 2019-20 में मनरेगा के अंतर्गत करवाए जाने वाले काम के लिए 91.19 लाख कार्य-दिवस तय किए गए थे।


उन्होंने बताया कि अधिकारियों को गरीबों के पशुओं के लिए मनरेगा के तहत बनाए जाने वाले कैटल-शैड बनाने में तेजी बरतने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि कड़ाके ठंड को देखते हुए इन कैटल-शैड को बनाने का कार्य प्राथमिकता के आधार पर किया जाए। उन्होंने 15 जनवरी 2021 तक 10 हजार शैड के निर्माण करवाने के निर्देश दिए हैं।

उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि मनरेगा के तहत करवाए जाने वाले पैंडिग कार्यों को स्वीकृति के लिए मुख्यालय में एक सप्ताह तक भेज दें ताकि आगामी पंचायती-चुनाव के लिए लगने वाली आचार-संहिता से पूर्व इन कार्यों को शुरू किया जा सके।


इन जिलों में चल रहे हैं धीमी गति के काम :-


उपमुख्यमंत्री ने जिन जिलों में धीमी गति से मनरेगा के काम हो रहे थे, उन जिलों के संबंधित अधिकारियों से जवाब मांगा। ऐसे जिलों में अंबाला, फरीदाबाद, चरखीदादरी, महेंद्रगढ़, पंचकूला, रेवाड़ी, सोनीपत आदि शामिल हैं।

समीक्षा बैठक में ग्रामीण विकास विभाग के प्रधान सचिव श्री सुधीर राजपाल, निदेशक श्री हरदीप सिंह, उपमुख्यमंत्री के ओएसडी श्री कमलेश भादू समेत अन्य अधिकारी उपस्थित थे। विभिन्न जिलों से सीईओ भी वीडियो कान्फ्रैंसिग से जुड़े हुए थे।

हरियाणा उर्दू अकादमी ने पुरस्कारों के लिए आवेदन आंमत्रित

पंचकूला 17 दिसम्बर- हरियाणा उर्दू अकादमी ने वर्ष 2019 और वर्ष 2020 के लिए उर्दू के साहित्यकारों को सम्मानित करने हेतु 15 जनवरी तक आवेदन पत्र एवं प्रस्ताव मांगे हंै। इन सम्मानों में फख्रे हरियाणा सम्मान रु0 3,00,000-, हाली सम्मान रु0 2,51,000- प्रदान किए जाएगे।

हिसार : 17 दिसंबर 2020-सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशनों के प्रसारणों का कृषि विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान होगा। इन स्टेशनों पर किसानों को ध्यान में रखकर कार्यक्रम प्रसारित किए जाएंगे। इन पर प्रसारित कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से किसान सम-सामयिक विषयों पर संपूर्ण जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकेंगे। ये विचार चौधरी चरण सिंह हरियाणा कृषि के कुलपति प्रोफेसर समर सिंह ने कहे। वे विश्वविद्यालय के सिरसा में स्थित कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र पर सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन के विधिवत उद्घाटन के बाद बोल रहे थे। यह रेडियो स्टेशन अब किसानों के लिए समर्पित कर दिया गया है। इस सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन को हरियाणा सरकार के सहयोग से राष्ट्रीय कृषि विकास योजना के तहत स्थापित  किया गया है। विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति ने कहा कि इनसे किसानों को मौसम सम्बन्धी जानकारी, विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिकों की सलाह, पशुपालन एवं गृह विज्ञान से संबंधित नवीनतम जानकारी प्रदान की जाएगी। सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन स्थानीय संस्कृति, कला एवं ज्ञान को भी बढ़ावा देंगे तथा किसानों की आय दोगुना करने में माननीय प्रधानमन्त्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी के उदेश्य को पूरा करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगें। उन्होंने बताया कि इन स्टेशनों पर महिलाओं को स्वावलंबी व स्वरोजगारोन्मुखी बनाने संबंधित कार्यक्रम भी सुव्यविस्थत तरीके से अधिक से अधिक प्रसारित किए जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि चौधरी चरण सिंह हरियाणा कृषि विश्वविद्यालय एक साथ सात सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन स्थापित करने वाला देश का पहला कृषि विश्वविद्यालय बन गया है। भारत सरकार व हरियाणा सरकार की सहायता से इस तरह के छ: सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन विभिन्न कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्रों पर पहले ही स्थापित किए जा चुके हैं। इनमें हिसार, रोहतक, झज्जर, पानीपत, कुरूक्षेत्र व जींद शामिल हैं।

किसानों व वैज्ञानिकों के होंगे घनिष्ठ संबंध, मिलेगी हर जानकारीविश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर समर सिंह ने कहा कि रेडियो स्टेशनों के स्थापित होने के बाद किसानों व वैज्ञानिकों के संबंध अधिक घनिष्ठ होंगे और किसानों को हर प्रकार की जानकारी मिलती रहेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि इनसे किसानों को फसलों की उन्नत किस्मों के साथ-साथ उनकी बिजाई संबंधी जानकारी, बिमारियों व कीटों और समाधान संबंधी जानकारी, मौसम सम्बन्धी जानकारी, विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिकों की सलाह, पशुपालन एवं गृह विज्ञान से संबंधित नवीनतम जानकारी प्रदान की जाएगी। व्यक्तिगत रूप से किसानों एवं कृषि-वैज्ञानिकों का आपसी संपर्क कम हो पाता है या संभव ही नहीं होता। ऐसे में सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन कृषि से संबंधित उन्नत तकनीकों की जानकारी पहुंचाने की एक महत्वपूर्ण कड़ी बन सकते हैं। भविष्य में यह सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन उन्नत व नवीनतम तकनीकों के प्रचार-प्रसार में मील का पत्थर साबित होंगे। ऐसे होगी सामुदायिक रेडिय़ो स्टेशनों के कार्यक्रमों की रूपरेखाविस्तार शिक्षा निदेशक डॉ आर.एस. हुड्डा ने कहा कि यह सभी रेडियो स्टेशन हरियाणा सरकार की राष्ट्रीय कृषि विकास योजना व आत्मा स्कीम के तहत स्थापित किए गए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय में सबसे पहले 29 नवंबर 2009 को सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन की स्थापना की गई और एफ.एम. 91.2 मैगाहर्टज पर कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत करने शुरू कर दिए। इन रेडियो स्टेशनों से दिन में दो बार सुबह 9:30 बजे से 11:30 बजे तथा शाम को 2:30 बजे से 4:30 बजे कृषि पशुपालन, सरकारी योजनाओं, मौसम संबंधी जानकारी व स्थानीय कलाकारों द्वारा हरियाणवी संस्कृति कार्यक्रम प्रसारित किए जाएंगे। सह-निदेशक (फार्म परामर्श सेवा) डॉ. सुनील ढाण्डा ने कहा कि ये रेडियो स्टेशन एक लंबे एवं जटिल प्रयास का परिणाम हैं क्योंकि इनको स्थापित करने के लिए विस्तार शिक्षा निदेशालय ने लगातार कई वर्षों तक भारत सरकार के विभिन्न मंत्रालयों से एनओसी प्राप्त करने के बाद ही किसानों को समर्पित किए गए हैं। इस परियोजना के नोडल ऑफिसर, सह-निदेशक (विस्तार) डॉ. कृष्ण यादव ने बताया कि इन सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशनों की स्थापना भारत सरकार के उपक्रम ब्रॉडकास्टिंग इंजीनियरिंग कंसल्टेंट्स इंडिया लिमिटेड (बेसिल) के सहयोग से की गई है। बेसिल द्वारा पूर्ण तकनीकी सहयोग एवं परामर्श प्रदान किया गया जिससे यह रेडियो स्टेशन आज के आधुनिक समय के सभी चुनौतियों का सामना करने में सक्षम है। ये रहे समारोह में मौजूदइस अवसर पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में सिरसा के एसडीएम जयवीर यादव, अनुसंधान निदेशक डॉ. एस के सहरावत, प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर डॉ. सतीश खोखर, कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र के वरिष्ठ संयोजक डॉ. देवेंद्र सिंह जाखड़, जिला विस्तार विशेषज्ञ, प्रगतिशील किसानों सहित अनेक गणमान्य व्यक्ति भी मौजूद थे।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने बताया कि वार्ड न0 11 से श्रीमती शरणजीत कौर, श्रीमती वैसाली कसंल, तथा वार्ड न0 12 से श्रीमती सुनीता देवी, श्रीमती सोनू, श्रीमती सोनिया अटवाल, श्रीमती सीमा एवं वार्ड न0 13 से सुनीत कुमार, मुलखराज सिंगला और वार्ड न0 14 से योगिन्द्र कुमार क्वात्रा व अविनाश मलिक ने अपने नामांकन भरे। इसी प्रकार वार्ड न0 15 से अजय कुमार, संजय कुमार, प्रदीप कुमार, विनोद कुमार व गोविन्दा चैधरी तथा वार्ड न0 16 से अजय पाल सिंह, कुलवंत नाथ, दयाल सिंह, भागीरथ, राकेश कुमार, रामस्वरूप, रोहित नाथ, विनोद कुमार व सचिन कुमार ने अपने पर्चे दाखिल किए। उन्होंने बताया कि वार्ड न0 17 से अक्षय व जगजीत कुमार तथा वार्ड 18 से धर्म सिंह, भागसिंह, विजय कुमार, संदीप सिंह व हेमंत कुमार और वार्ड 19 से श्रीमती गुरप्रीत कौर , गुरमीत कौर व विजय रानी तथा वार्ड 20 से गुरदास सिंह, सतबीर व सलीम ने अपने पर्चे दाखिल किए।

पंचकूला – हरियाणा बिजली वितरण निगम के सानिध्य में ऊर्जा संरक्षण माह के अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री मनोहरलाल का सपना जगमग योजना को सफल बनाने के लिए उच्चतर शिक्षा विभाग के सानिध्य में संचालित वेबिनार श्रृंखला में हरियाणा के विद्यार्थियों शिक्षकों  से रूबरू होते हुए मुख्य संरक्षक वन श्री ए. पी. पाण्डे ने कहा हम अर्थिक दिवालियापन को फिर से हासिल कर सकते है।


मुख्य संरक्षक वन ने कहा कि प्रकृति की नाराजगी से प्राकृतिक आपदा का सामना करने के बाद पूर्व स्थिति को नहीं प्राप्त कर सकते। फतेहाबाद के विद्यार्थी सलोनी की जिज्ञासा पर हम अपने शैक्षणिक भ्रमण कार्यक्रम हेतु किन स्थानों का चयन करके जवाब में ए.पी. पाण्डे ने बताया कि हरियाणा वन विभाग की पहल पर प्रदेश में बहुत सारे प्रकृति दर्शन केन्द्र स्थापित किये गये है, जिसमें कलेसर नेशनल पार्क, सुलतानपुर पक्षी बिहार, भिन्डावास पक्षी बिहार, डीयर पार्क हिसार, नेचर कैम्प थापली जैसे दर्जन भर प्रकृति दर्शन केन्द्र शामिल हैं।

उन्होनें चण्डीगढ़ सुखना लेक के साथ शिवालिक की पहाड़ियों पर नेशनल पार्क के ट्रैकिंग रूट को प्रकृति को जानने का जगह बताई।  उन्होने कहा कि एक जगह जहाँ विकास के नाम पर कंक्रीट का जंगल खड़ा है, वहीं दूसरी तरफ प्रोटेक्टेड फोरेस्ट एरिया को देखे ता जहाँ वनस्पतियाँ और जंगल है वह सुकुन देने वाला स्थल नजर आयेगा। उन्होने कहा विकास जरूरी है पर पर्यावरण सन्तुलन के साथ।


उन्होंने बताया कि इस वेबिनार श्रृंखला का आरम्भ बिजली विरतरण कम्पनी हरिरयाणा के अध्यक्ष शत्रुजीत कपूर ने 22 अक्टूबर को किया था जो दो माह तक निरंतर विमर्श का मंच बना रहेगा और 23 दिसंम्बर को ऊर्जा संरक्षण में नागरिक दायित्व विषय पर विमर्श के माध्यम से सम्पन्न होगा।  अब तक इस विमर्श को हरियाणा के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव पी. के दास निदेशक सर्तकता एच. पी. यू. एस  कुलदीप सिहाग, अतिरिक्त प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक धनश्याम शुकला, पूर्व गृह सचिव हरियाणा सरकार समीर माथुर सहित वैज्ञानिक शिक्षाविद् पर्यावरण विद् निरंतर हरियाणा के शिक्षकों विद्यार्थियों से रूबरू हो चुके है।


उन्होंने बताया कि इसी कड़ी में 17 दिसम्बर को सुबह 11 से 12 बजे पर्यावरण संरक्षक में मीडिया की भूमिका विषय पर वरिष्ठ संपादक एवं पत्रकार रूबरू होगें।

Conference starting on 17th December,2020, informed Prof Desh Deepak, Coordinator which is being organised in association with Chandigarh region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster(CRIKC). on the theme” Science and Technology Innovations: Ushering in the era of Make in India” .The Webcast of proceedings can be seen at  PU webcast. Also, 15 reputed speakers out of which 3 are international , have agreed to speak during the conference.

CHASCON is an annual event since 2007 in PU which encourages the young and innovative minds for interaction with researchers, academicians and industry leaders. CHASCON will be an exciting platform to deliberate, exchange views on scientific challenges and innovations and would showcase the contributions from the region and define the future roadmap for making India the Innovation Hub.
