Chandigarh, October 22:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided to conduct competition among the Market Associations of city regarding Diwali decorations lights.
While sharing this information here today, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh intimated that the MCC will constitute a committee of officers to conduct competition among city Market associations during Diwali lights.
He said that the winner Markets associations will be honoured by the MCC besides allotting works of their choice having Rs. 10 lacs works for 1st position, Rs. 7 lacs works for 2nd position and Rs. 5 lacs works for 3rd position from MCC funds.

Chandigarh, October 22:- The Fire Department of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has finalized its mobilization plan of fire and emergency services keeping in view the Diwali festival and deputed its all officials on duty under 7 zones from 25th October to 28th October, 2019.
All kind of leave/weekly rest of fire–fighting staff has been restricted for 4 days from 25th to 28th October, 2019 to ensure that maximum manpower should be readily available to meet any contingency across the city.
This plan was finalized in a meeting of fire and emergency services committee held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma and attended by other members of committee namely Sh. Arun Sood, Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, Maj. Gen. M.S. Kandal, Haji Mohd. Khurshid Ali, councilors, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner-cum-Chief Fire Officer and other concerned officers of Fire Department.
During the meeting, the committee decided to divide the city under 7 zones for effective and efficient area coverage by fire-fighting vehicle and fire patrol parties. The members decided that the mobilization plan of fire and emergency services will be uploaded on the official website of MCC.
The committee decided to create awareness through highlighting the Do’s and Don’ts and fire safety precautions for using fireworks/crackers and holding cracker shops.
The committee also appreciates the online payment gateway for issuance of Fire Safety Certificate and asked the concerned officials to create awareness about the scheme among masses for larger benefit of general public.
The committee also decided that 9 fire service vehicles along with trained manpower will remain standby from 25th to 28th October 2019 for protection of various cracker shops locations designated by district magistrate, UT, Chandigarh.
Further 3 fire service vehicles alongwith trained manpower will be deployed for standby duty for protection of markets of heavy crowd footfall i.e. Patel Market, Sector 15, Sadar/Palika Bazar, Sector 19 and Shastri Market, Sector 22, Chandigarh.
In addition to that 8 motorcycles mounted with CAF based fire extinguishers along with trained manpower will perform patrolling duty across the city from fire prevention and protection point of view. 7 fire service vehicles alongwith trained staff will remain deployed at their respective fire stations to meet with any contingency in the nearby vicinity of concerned area jurisdiction.
The committee also decided that regular checking of all whole/retail sale points of fire crackers will be carried out by the fire department to ensure adequate number of sand bags, adequate water and sufficient number of fire-extinguishers would be readily available at cracker shops/sites and appropriate action would be taken against defaulters/offenders.
The committee plans to create a whatsapp group for close coordination between staff deployed and officers and for update/photographs and videos of duty during the period of deployment.

जिलाधीश अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने आपराधिक दंड संहिता 1973 की प्रदत शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए मतगणना केंन्द्रों के 500 मीटर की परिधि में धारा 144 लागू करने के आदेश जारी किए हैं। आदेशों की उल्लंघना करने वालों के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्यवाही अमल में लाई जाएगी।
जिलाधीश ने बताया कि विधानसभा चुनाव 2019 के लिए जिला की पांचों विधानसभा के मतों की गणना चौ. देवीलाल विश्वविद्यालय में 24 अक्तूबर को की जाएगी। मतगणना को बिना किसी बाधा, व्यवधान व शांतिपूर्वक करवाने के मद्देनजर मतगणना केंद्रों के 500 मीटर की परिधि मेंं धारा 144 लागू करने के आदेश जारी किये गए हैं। आदेशों की उल्लंघना करने वाले व्यक्ति के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्यवाही अमल में लाई जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि मतगणना के दौरान ड्यूटी पर लगे अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों, स्टॉफ सदस्यों, पुलिस, पैरा मिलिट्री के जवान, चुनाव लडऩे वाले उम्मीदवार एवं उनके प्रतिनिधि, चुनाव आयोग अथवा रिटर्निंग अधिकारी द्वारा अधिकृत व्यक्ति, चुनाव आयोग अथवा प्रैस इन्फोरमेशन ब्यूरो द्वारा जारी वैद्य कार्ड प्राप्त इलेक्ट्रोनिक एवं प्रिंट मीडिया के पत्रकारों पर ये आदेश लागू नहीं रहेंगे।
जिला के सभी मतगणना केन्द्र चौ. देवीलाल विश्वविद्यालय में बनाए गए हैं। 42-कालांवाली (एससी) का मतगणना केन्द्र अम्बेडकर लॉ भवन में, 43-डबवाली का मतगणना केन्द्र मल्टीपर्पज हॉल में, 44-रानियां का मतगणना केन्द्र लाल बहादुर शास्त्री भवन में, 45-सिरसा का मतगणना केन्द्र मल्टीपर्पज हॉल के बाहर तथा 46-ऐलनाबाद विस का मतगणना केन्द्र अम्बेडकर भवन के लाईब्रेरी हॉल में बनाया गया है।
आदेशों के अनुसार कोई भी उम्मीदवार या उनके प्रतिनिधि मतगणना केन्द्र में अपने साथ हथियार, अग्रिशस्त्र, माचिस की डिब्बी, लाईटर, सिगरेट, ब्लेड, चाकू, लिक्विड केमिकल, मोबाईल फोन, सैल्युलर फोन, कोडलेस फोन, वॉकी-टॉकी, वायरलेस सैट, वॉच पेजर, अतिरिक्त कपड़ा, चाबी का छल्ला, पैन, पैनसिल, किसी प्रकार का इलेक्ट्रिानिक गैजेट या कोई अन्य आपत्तिजनक वस्तु ले जाने पर पूर्ण पाबंदी होगी। ये आदेश मतगणना केन्द्रों पर ड्यूटी पर लगे अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों, स्टॉफ सदस्यों, पुलिस, पैरा मिलिट्री के जवान पर लागू नहीं होंगे। आदेशों की अवहेलना करने वाले व्यक्तियों के विरुद्घ आईपीसी की धारा 188 के तहत कार्रवाही की जाएगी।

जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद् द्वारा 23 अक्तूबर से बाल दिवस प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। यह प्रतियोगिताएं 5 नवम्बर 2019 तक चलेंगी।
जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी पूनम नागपाल ने बताया कि बाल दिवस प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए बाल कल्याण परिषद् द्वारा सभी तैयारियां पूर्ण कर ली गई हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि इन प्रतियोगिताओं में रंगोली प्रतियोगिता, फेस पेन्टिंग, क्ले मॉडलिंग, सोलो सांग, स्कैचिंग आन दा स्पॉट, बैस्ट ड्रामेबाज, फैन्सी डै्रस, पोस्टर मेकिंग, फन गेम लड़कों तथा लड़कियों के लिए, सोलो डान्स, डेक्लेमेशन, कार्ड मेकिंग, दीया कैण्डल डैकोरेशन, देशभक्ति समूह गान, थाली पूजन/क्लश डैकोरेशन, समूह डांस तथा प्रश्रोतरी प्रतियोगिताएं करवाई जा रही हैं। इन सभी प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए अलग-अलग समूह बनाए गए हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि जो बच्चे इन प्रतियोगिताओं में प्रथम व द्वितीय स्थान पर रहेंगे उन्हें जोनल स्तर की प्रतियोगिता के लिए जींद भेजा जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि जो बच्चे जींद में आयोजित प्रतियोगिताओं में अव्वल रहेंगे उन्हें राज्य स्तर की प्रतियोगिता के लिए भेजा जाएगा।

विधानसभा आम चुनाव 2019 के लिए जिला में 21 अक्तूबर को मतदान प्रक्रिया का सफलतापूर्वक समापन हो गया। जिला में मतदान प्रतिशत 76.9 रहा। सिरसा जिला मतदान प्रतिशतता में प्रदेशभर में दूसरे स्थान पर रहा, पहले स्थान पर फतेहाबाद जिला रहा, जहां पर 77 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। जिला में मतदान प्रक्रिया के सफलतापूर्वक समापन के लिए चुनाव ड्यूटी में लगे अधिकारियों व कर्मचारियों के कार्यों की सराहना की और प्रशासन के सहयोग के लिए जिलावासियों व मीडिया कर्मियों का धन्यवाद भी किया।
उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने बताया कि विधानसभा आम चुनाव-2019 के लिए जिला में हुई मतदान प्रक्रिया का सफलतापूर्वक समापन हुआ। जिला की पांचों विधानसभा क्षेत्रों पर मतदान प्रक्रिया पूरी तरह से निष्पक्ष, शांतिपूर्वक व सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न हुई। उन्होंने बताया कि जिला में कुल 76.9 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। पूरे प्रदेशभर में मतदान प्रतिशतता में सिरसा जिला दूसरे स्थान पर रहा, जबकि 70 प्रतिशत मतदान के साथ फतेहाबाद पहले स्थान पर रहा। मतदान प्रतिशतता में प्रदेश में जिला का दूसरे स्थान पर रहना यहां के नागरिकों की जागरूकता को सार्थक करता है, इसके लिए उन्होंने सभी मतदाताओं को बधाई दी। उन्होंने बताया कि कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 75.10 प्रतिशत, डबवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 78.80 प्रतिशत, रानियां विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 79.60 प्रतिशत, सिरसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 68.30 प्रतिशत तथा ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 83.60 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ।
उन्होंने जिला में मतदान प्रक्रिया के शांतिपूर्वक समापन के लिए चुनाव प्रक्रिया से जुड़े सभी अधिकारियों व कर्मचारियों के कार्य प्रणाली की सराहना की। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने चुनाव प्रक्रिया के सफल संचालन के लिए जिलावासियों व राजनैतिक दलों द्वारा प्रशासनिक सहयोग के लिए धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने मीडिया कर्मियों द्वारा मतदान प्रक्रिया की सकारात्मक कवरेज के लिए धन्यवाद किया।

विधानसभा आम चुनाव 2019 के लिए हुए मतदान की मतगणना 24 अक्तूबर को सीडीएलयू के विभिन्न स्थानों पर बनाए मतगणना केंद्रों पर की जाएगी। मतगणना प्रक्रिया की सभी तैयारी पूरी कर ली गई हैं। पांचों विधानसभा क्षेत्र के मतों की गणना चौधरी देवीलाल विश्वविद्यालय में की की जाएगी।
जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने बताया कि 21 अक्तूबर को जिला में हुए विधानसभा चुनाव के मतों की गणना 24 अक्तूबर को सीडीएलयू में की जाएगी। मतगणना के लिए जिला की सभी विधानसभा क्षेत्र के लिए अलग-अलग मतगणना केंद्र बनाए गए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सीडीएलयू के अंबेडकर लॉ भवन, डबवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र की मल्टी पर्पज हाल, रानियां विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सीडीएलयू के लाल बहादुर शास्त्री भवन, सिरसा विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सीडीएलयू के आऊट साइड मल्टी पर्पज हाल व ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सीडीएलयू के अंबेडकर भवन के लाईब्र्रेरी हाल में मतगणना होगी।

Department of History and its Researcher’s Society organised a seminar, here today on the theme “Historical Essence of India and Its Future” in the wake of Vigilance Awareness Week being observed by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Professor Anju Suri, Chairperson who introduced the theme of the Seminar, emphasised on the cultural and religious diversity prevalent in India and how it leads to the unity of our nation.
Professor M. Rajivlochan delivered the inaugural address. In his address, he drew the attention of audience to the fact that with changing times the changes are seen in cultural manners and customs for which the reality check is the dire need in order to assess our own progress and the progress of our civilization and country. The analysis in totality with all the positive and negative aspects enable us to come up with innovative practices for the growth of our personalities and our nation which can make our future prosperous and brighter.
The seminar was organised by the Department for students of MA who presented 17 papers relating with various subthemes such as historical and cultural aspects, legends and historical sources, popular historical personalities, fairs, customs, Indian laws, foreign travellers, religion, ancient educational institutions of India to present their own perspective of how India is, what are its future prospects and how our nation could be further developed. The presentations were appreciated by all the guests who lauded the efforts of the students to present varied perspectives to understand the idea of India and how these ideas in totality created the idea of India as sacred and ancient land of wisdom and culture.
The students’ seminar was attended by a large number of dignitaries which include Ms and Mr Amit Prasad (IPS), the Inspector General (Ropar), Mr. R. K. Taneja (Retired IAS officer), Mrs. and Mr. Prem Singh, (former Manager of the Tribune), Ms. Suman Rana who revealed that came for the seminar after reading about it in the morning newspaper and they encouraged students to keep doing such academic activities in future.

पंचकूला , 21 अक्तूबर – हरियाणा विधानसभा आम चुनाव के मद्देनजर जिला पंचकूला की दोनों विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में मतदान शांतिपूर्ण व निष्पक्ष ढंग से सम्पन्न हुआ। जिला में सामान्य पर्यवेक्षक, के मार्गदर्शन एवं जिला प्रशासन व पुलिस प्रशासन तथा आम जनता के सहयोग से यह मतदान प्रक्रिया सफल एवं सुचारू रूप से सम्पन्न हुई। कालका विधानसभा मे लगभग 70 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ, पंचकूला विधानसभा क्षेत्र मे लगभग 59 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। कुल मिलाकर दोनों विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में लगभग 65 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ।
जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपयुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा और सामान्य पर्यवेक्षक एस.एस.गिल ने सैक्टर- 14 के राजकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय और सैक्टर – 1 राजकीय महाविद्यालय सहित अनेकों मतदान केंद्रो का दौरा किया और मतदान प्रक्रिया का जायजा लिया। उपायुक्त कंट्रोल रूम मे बैठकर पल-पल की जानकारी रखते हुए पुरे जिले की मतदान प्रक्रिया पर नजर रखी और जरूरत पड़ने पर आवश्यक दिशा निर्देश दिये। उन्होंने पोलिंग पार्टीयो से निषक्ष एवं पारदर्शी चुनाव करवाने पर बल दिया।
उन्होंने बताया कि जिला पुलिस प्रशासन ने उपायुक्त कमलदीप गोयल के नेतृत्व मेे भी जिला में चुनाव को शांतिपूर्वक तरीके से सम्पन्न करवाने के लिए कार्य किया। पोलिंग पार्टियों से निष्पक्ष एवं पारदर्शी चुनाव करवाने के लिए कई गांवों में स्थापित किये गये विभिन्न मतदान केन्द्रों का दौरा किया और मतदाताओं से अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया ताकि लोकतंत्र को और मजबूत बनाया जा सके। उपायुक्त एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने जिला में शांतिपूर्ण मतदान के लिए मतदाताओं व अन्य लोगों के साथ- साथ चुनाव प्रक्रिया से जुड़े सभी अधिकारियों व कर्मचारियों का आभार व्यक्त किया ।

कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के सामान्य चुनाव पर्यवेक्षक कपिल मीणा ने सोमवार को मतदान के दौरान क्षेत्र के विभिन्न मतदान केंद्रों का निरीक्षण कर मतदान प्रक्रिया का निरीक्षण किया और प्रशासन द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाई गई सुविधाओं का जायजा लिया। इस दौरान उन्होंने वल्नेरेबल, क्रिटिकल, संवेदनशील व अति संवेदनशील बूथों का विशेष तौर पर निरीक्षण किया। इसके साथ-साथ उन्होंने पिंक व मॉडल बूथों का भी जायजा लिया।
कपिल मीणा ने मतदान केंद्रों के निरीक्षण के दौरान सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के साथ-साथ मतदाताओं के लिए उपलब्ध सुविधाओं का भी बारिकी से जायजा लिया। उन्होंने मतदाताओं से भी प्रशासन द्वारा बूथों पर दी गई सुविधाओं के बारे में जानकारी ली। निरीक्षण के दौरान बूथों पर शांतिपूर्वक व सहज रूप से सुचारू रूप से मतदान प्रक्रिया का सही रूप से संचालन होता हुआ पाया गया। उन्होंने मतदान प्रक्रिया के लिए ड्यूटी पर तैनात कर्मचारियों व अधिकारियों से भी मतदान प्रक्रिया के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त की। कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र में शांतिपूर्वक मतदान प्रक्रिया चली और लोगों में मतदान के प्रति उत्साह दिखा।
सामान्य पर्यवेक्षक ने बूथों के निरीक्षण उपरांत कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के मतगणना केंद्र का भी निरीक्षण किया और वहां की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को पुख्ता करने बारे अधिकारियों को दिशा-निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने सीडीएलयू के अंबेडकर लॉ भवन में कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के लिए बनाए गए मतगणना केंद्र का बारिकी से निरीक्षण किया। मतदान उपरांत यहीं पर ईवीएम मशीनों का जमा किया जाएगा। इस दौरान कालांवाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के रिटर्निंग अधिकारी एवं एसडीएम निर्मल नागर भी साथ थे।
