                       उपायुक्त रमेश चंद्र बिढ़ाण ने बताया कि अनुसूचित जाति एवं पिछड़े वर्ग कल्याण विभाग ने वर्ष 2019-20 में विभिन्न योजनाओं के तहत जिला के 5 हजार 852 लाभ पात्रों को 11 करोड़ 24 लाख 4 हजार रुपये की राशि वितरित की जा चुकी है। राशि सीधे लाभपात्रों के बैंक खाते में डाली गई।

                       उपायुक्त बिढ़ाण ने बताया कि मुख्यमंत्री विवाह शगुन योजना के तहत 2 हजार 190 लाभपात्रों को 7 करोड़ 20 लाख रुपये की राशि वितरित की है। उन्होंने बताया कि मुख्यमंत्री विवाह शगुन योजना के तहत गरीबी रेखा से नीचे जीवनयापन करने वाले अनुसूचित जाति, विमुक्त जाति एवं टपरीवास जाति (बीपीएल) के परिवारों को उनकी लड़की की शादी में 51 हजार रुपये का अनुदान दिया जाता है, जिसमें 46 हजार रुपये की राशि शादी के समय और 5 हजार रुपये शादी रजिस्ट्रेशन होने उपरान्त दिए जाते हैं। इसके अलावा सभी जाति की विधवा औरत की लड़की की शादी के लिए 51 हजार रुपये की राशि अनुदान में दी जाती है, जिसमें से 46 हजार रुपये शादी के समय और 5 हजार रुपये शादी रजिस्ट्रेशन के उपरान्त दी जाती है। इसके अतिरिक्त महिला खिलाड़ी के विवाह पर 31 हजार रुपये दिए जाते हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछड़े वर्ग व सामान्य जाति के परिवार की लड़की शादी में 11 हजार रुपये का अनुदान दिया जाता है, जिसमें से 10 हजार रुपये शादी के समय और एक हजार रुपये शादी रजिस्ट्रेशन होने के बाद दिया जाता है। इसके अलावा इस योजना के तहत किसी भी जाति के गरीब परिवार जिनकी वार्षिक आय एक लाख रुपये से कम है, उस परिवार को भी लड़की की शादी में 11 हजार रुपये की अनुदान राशि प्रदान की जाती है।

                       उपायुक्त ने बताया कि विभाग द्वारा अत्याचार निवारण अधिनियम योजना के तहत भी जिन व्यक्तियों पर अत्याचार हुए है, उन्हें विभाग द्वारा अनुदान राशि दी जाती है। जिला में वर्ष 2019-20 के दौरान ऐसे 46 लाभार्थियों को 59 लाख 35 हजार रुपये की राशि दी गई है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस योजना के तहत जातीय आधार पर अनुसूचित जाति के व्यक्तियों पर होने वाले अत्याचारों जैसे भूमि पर कब्जा करना, हत्या, डकैती, आगजनी, बलात्कार, नरसंहार आदि से पीडि़त हो उनको अनुसूचित जाति जनजाति अत्याचार निवारण अधिनियम 1989 के तहत 85 हजार रुपये से 8 लाख 25 हजार रुपये की राशि आर्थिक सहायता के रूप में दी जाती है।

                       उपायुक्त ने बताया कि मुख्यमंत्री सामाजिक समरसता अंतर्राजातीय विवाह योजना के तहत वर्ष 2019-20 में जिला के 50 लाभार्थियों को 58 लाख 58 हजार रुपये की राशि दी गई है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस योजना के तहत राज्य के स्थाई निवासी अनुसूचित जाति के लड़का या लड़की के विवाह करने पर 2 लाख 50 हजार रुपये की राशि प्रोत्साहन स्वरूप दी जाती है। यह राशि वर-वधू के संयुक्त खाते में जमा होती है और आवेदन प्राप्त होते ही एक लाख 25 हजार रुपये संयुक्त बैंक खाते में तथा एक लाख 25 हजार रुपये संयुक्त 3 वर्षीय सावधी बैंक खाते में देने का प्रावधान किया गया है।

                       उपायुक्त ने बताया कि पंचायत प्रोत्साहन योजना के तहत अनुसूचित जाति के कल्याण हेतु सराहनीय कार्य तथा स्वच्छ भारत अभियान में भागीदारी करने वाली पंचायतों को प्रोत्साहन स्वरुप लाभ प्रदान किया जाता है। उन्होंने बताया कि वर्ष 2019-20 के दौरान एक पंचायत को 50 हजार रुपये की राशि प्रदान की गई है। उन्होने बताया कि योजना का लाभ लेने के लिए आवेदक सादे कागज पर पंचायत प्रस्ताव सहित आवेदन पत्र संबंधित खंड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी की रिपोर्ट सहित जिला/तहसील कल्याण अधिकारी ककार्यालय में जमा करवाने होंगे।


                       उन्होंने बताया कि डॉ. अंबेडकर मेधावी छात्र योजना भी विभाग द्वारा चलाई जा रही है। इस योजना के तहत अनुसूचित जाति, विमुक्त, घुमंतु / अर्ध घुमंतु, टपरीवास व पिछड़े वर्ग के छात्रों में प्रतिस्पर्धा व उत्कृष्टता की भावना को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए अनुसूचित जाति के छात्रों को कक्षावार प्रतिशत्ता के आधार पर 8 हजार रुपये से 12 हजार रुपये की राशि वार्षिक छात्रवृति के रूप में दिए जाने का प्रावधान है। डॉ अंबेडकर मेधावी छात्र योजना के तहत 3 हजार 565 छात्रों को 2 करोड़ 85 लाख 61 हजार रुपये की राशि प्रोत्साहन स्वरुप प्रदान की गई है।

             एसडीएम निर्मल नागर ने बताया कि उप मंडल में कोरोना फैलाव को रोकने के मद्देनजर शनिवार व रविवार को बाजार पूरी तरह से बंद रहेगा। इसके अलावा दुकानों के खुलने व बंद करने के का समय प्रात: 9 से सायं 6.30 बजे तक रहेगा।

उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र व रिहायशी कालोनियों में स्थित एकल दुकानों को ही शनिवार व रविवार को बंद से छूट दी जाएगी। यदि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में एक साथ दस दुकानें हैं, उन्हें बाजार माना जाएगा और वहां पर भी शनिवार व रविवार को बंद का नियम लागू होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि मेडिकल हाल, पैट्रोल पंप, दुग्ध उत्पाद व डेयरी की दुकानें हर रोज प्रात: 8 से सायं 8 बजे तक खुली रहेंगी। इसके अलावा होटल, ढाबे, रेस्टोरेंट, कैफे आदि में प्रात: 9 से सायं 8 बजे तक ही सर्विस उपलब्ध करवाई जा सकेगी। रात 8 बजे के बाद बैठाकर भोजन करवाने पर पाबंदी रहेगी, लेकिन इसके बाद रात 10 बजे तक पैकिंग से होम डिलवरी कर सकते हैं। इसी प्रकार वैंडर्स/हॉकर पर भी प्रात: 9 से सायं 6.30 बजे तक का नियम लागू रहेगा। यदि कोई निर्देशों व नियमों की उल्लंघना करता है, तो उसके खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई अमल में लाई जाए।

The Interdisciplinary Center for Swami Vivekananda Studies,Panjab University organized a Web lecture on the Salient Features of NEP 2020  by Prof.Chaman Lal Gupta, Vice -Chairman, Governing Body Institute of  Advanced Study,Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla.

Vice Chancellor Prof.Raj Kumar welcomed the speaker and highlighted the main features of NEP 2020. The NEP 2020 aims at that the learning should be holistic, integrated, enjoyable and encouraging. This policy envisions an education system rooted in Indian ethos that will contribute to transform our country into a global knowledge superpower. He categorically stated that while implementing the provisions care should be taken of the infrastructure in place.Thus the implementation cannot be same for all. The clear road map with identified priorities will help us to achieve our goals

पंचकूला 18 अगस्त – उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि मंगलवार को पंचकूला में 75 मामले पोजिटिव आए। इनमें 13 बाहर के शामिल है। चण्डीगढ व हिमाचल प्रदेश के 2-2, पंजाब के 7, नारनौल व कुरूक्षेत्र का एक-एक मामला आया है।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि पंचकूला के सैक्टर 8 में 4, सैक्टर 19, 20, 21, सैक्टर 9, 10 व पिंजौर एवं आईटीबीपी में तीन-तीन एवं सैक्टर 15 में भी 9 मामले आए है। इसी प्रकार सैक्टर 25, सैक्टर 2, एमडीसी सैक्टर 4 व 5, कुण्डी, सैक्टर 4, कालका, सैक्टर 27 व सैक्टर 17 में भी एक एक मामला पोजिटिव आया है।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा अब तक जिला के 26152 व्यक्तियों के नमूने लिए गए। इनमें 24143 व्यक्तियों के नमूने नेगेटिव पाए गए और 477 व्यक्तियों के नमूनों के परिणाम आने बाकी है। जिला में अब तक 1531 मामले पोजिटिव पाए गए हैं इनमें पंचकूला के 1267 व 244 बाहरी राज्यों व जिलों से सबंधित है।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि जिला में अब 861 पोजिटिव केस ठीक हो गए है तथा 398 मामले एक्टिव हैं तथा शेष रोगियों का स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा ईलाज किया जा रहा है।

पंचकूला ्र 18 अगस्त- उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा विशेषकर गर्मी एवं बरसात के मौसम में मलेरिया, चिकनगुनिया व डेंगू की रोकथाम के लिए पंचकूला के शहरी क्षेत्र एवं ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में 14 सितम्बर तक फौगिंग करने का अभियान जारी किया है। इस अभियान के तहत शहरी क्षेत्र में बडी वाहन मशीन एवं ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में छोटी मशीनों के माध्यम से लगातार फोगिंग की जाएगी।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि विभाग द्वारा ग्रामीण एवं शहरी क्षेत्र का अलग अलग फौगिंग का शैडयूल बनाया गया है। इसमें वाहन मशीन से शहरी क्षेत्र एवं छोटी मशीनों से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में फौगिंग अभियान चलाया जाएगा। यह अभियान लगातार सितम्बर माह तक चलेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि 19 अगस्त को नगर निगम क्षेत्र एमडीसी सैक्टर 6 तथा गांव माजरी तथा 20 अगस्त को एमडीसी सैक्टर एक व दो तथा गांव देवी नगर में वाहन में लगी हुई मशीनों एवं छोटी मशीनों से फौगिंग की जाएगी। इसी प्रकार 21 अगस्त को सैक्टर 4 तथा 22 अगस्त को सैक्टर 5 व 6 एवं देवीनगर एवं 23 अगस्त को सैक्टर 7 और हरिपुर में तथा 24 अगस्त को सैक्टर 8 व गांव हरिपुर में फौगिंग का कार्य किया जाएगा।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि जिला में तीन वर्षों में वन एवं वृक्षों के तहत क्षेत्र को 7 प्रतिशत से बढ़ाकर 20 प्रतिशत तक करने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है। इसके तहत पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के आधार पर जिला के इन गांवों में ‘कोविड वाटिका’ के माध्यम से गांवों के स्कूल, सार्वजनिक स्थल, पंचायती खाली भूमि पर पौधारोपण किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस वर्ष के वन महोत्सव के दौरान जिला में 7 लाख पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि राष्ट्रीय हरित ट्रिब्यून के निर्देशानुसार जिला में नदी परियोजनाओं को लक्षित करते हुए प्रदेश में वनों के अधीन क्षेत्र को बढ़ाने का भी विजन शुरू किया गया है। जिसमें मुख्य रूप से शहरी क्षेत्र में नगर वन स्थापित करना, स्कूल नर्सरी स्कीम, 20-सूत्रीय कार्यक्रम के तहत पौधारोपण, नदियों का वनों के माध्यम से संरक्षण, मृदा नमी संरक्षण के लिए लिडार टैक्नोलोजी का उपयोग तथा किसानों को लकड़ी बचाने के लिए राष्ट्रीय ट्रांजिट परमिट शामिल हैं।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि नदी संरक्षण के तहत घग्गर नदी के किनारों पर भी पौधे लगाए जाएंगे जिनमें विशेषकर मोरनी हिल्स, पंचकूला को कवर किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि स्कूल नर्सरी कार्यक्रम के तहत स्कूली बच्चों को पौधारोपण कर उनकी देखभाल करने के लिए प्रेरित करने की योजना के तहत ऐप लॉच किया गया है, जिस पर विद्यार्थी पौधे के साथ अपनी फोटो अपलोड कर सकता है। इसके हर 6 महीने के बाद उसको प्रोत्साहन राशि भी दी जाती है।

श्री आहूजा ने बताया कि पर्यावरण को बनाए रखने के लिए गिद्धों की जनसंख्या को बढ़ाने के लिए भारत का पहला ‘गिद्ध संरक्षण एवं प्रजनन केन्द्र’ पंचकूला के पिंजौर में स्थापित किया गया है। इसी प्रकार मोरनी स्थित ‘फिजैंट प्रजनन केन्द्र’ में लाल जंगली मुर्गा प्रजाति का सफलापूर्वक प्रजनन करवाया जा रहा है।

पंचकूला 18 अगस्त- स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव राजीव अरोडा ने निर्देश दिए कि पंचकूला में बढते हुए कोरोना पोजिटिव रोगियों को ध्यान में रखते हुए स्वास्थ्य विभाग अधिक से अधिक कोविड सैम्पलिंग, कंन्टेªक्ट रेसिंग, होम आईसोलेशन आदि गतिविधियों को बढाने पर बल दें।

उन्होंने कहा कि स्वास्थ्य विभाग कोरोना रोगियों के नजदीक ही केन्द्रों पर सैम्पलिंग की सुविधाएं बढाए। इसके लिए पीएचसी व सीएचसी को भी सैम्पल के लिए शामिल किया जाए ताकि ज्यादा से ज्यादा रोगियों के नमूने लिए जा सके। उन्होंने कहा कि अधिकांश रोगी जिला स्तर पर भय के कारण नहीं आते। इसलिए सैम्पल की व्यवस्था का विकेन्द्रीयकरण किया जाए। इसके अलावा एम्बुलेंस के माध्यम से भी सैम्पलिंग बढाऐं। उन्होंने कहा कि एम्बुलेंस के माध्यम से भी विशेषकर ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में ज्यादा से ज्यादा से सैम्पलिंग करनी चाहिए।

श्री अरोड़ा ने कहा कि रोगी के कंट्रेक्ट में आने वाले व्यक्तियों के भी अधिक नमूने लिए जाएं। इसके साथ ही कांउसलर की भी संख्या बढाई जाए ताकि प्रत्येक रोगी को मानसिक रूप से तैयार किया जा सके। उन्होंने कहा कि रोगी का पता चलते ही उसे तत्काल मेडिकल में लाया जाए। इस प्रकार आईईसी गतिविधियों को बढाया जाए। जितनी ज्यादा आईईसी गतिविधियां बढेंगी उतना ही कोविड रोकथाम के लिए लोग जागरूक होंगे।


अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव ने कहा कि अब दो-तीन सप्ताह का समय बहुत ही संवेदनशील है। इसलिए जिला के अधिकारी पूरी तत्परता के साथ कार्य करें। अब तक कोरोना की रोकथाम हेतू लोगों को बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं उपलब्ध करवाई गई है उन पर नियमित रूप से पूरी निगरानी बनाए रखें। इसके अलावा होम आईसोलेशन का भी 10 दिन दो बार निरीक्षण करें और इसके साथ ही उसे व्हाटसअप गु्रप के माध्यम से काउंसलिंग करके उसका हालचाल पूछते रहे।


उन्होंने कहा कि अधिकांश लोग आर्थिक गतिविधियों को जारी रखते हुए सोशल डिस्टेंस का पालन नहीं कर रहे। इसके अलावा मास्क का प्रयोग भी नहीं करते। इसलिए उनके चालान किए जाऐं। उन्होंने जिला स्तर पर कोविड को लेकर रेपिड रिसपोंस टीम का गठन करने को भी कहा। उन्होंने आरोग्य सेतू अपलोड करने ओर स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा चलाई जा रहे दूरभाष न0 1075 पर चिकित्सकों से आॅनलाइन सलाह लेने पर भी बल दिया जाए।
उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने कहा कि जिला में आशा कार्यकर्ताओं के सहयोग से सैम्पल एकत्र करने के लिए सैंटर बढाने, कंट्रेक्ट रेसिंग बढाने, होम आईसोलेशन की दो बार मोनिटरिंग करने तथा रोगी से आॅनलाईन हाल चाल जानने, नियमित रूप से बैठक लेकर समीक्षा करने तथा चिकित्सकों की टीमों का गठन कर विशेष ध्यान रखा जाएगा ताकि कोविड पर पहले की भांति काबू पाया जा सके। उन्हांेने कहा कि जिला में लोगों को जागरूक एवं प्रेरित करने के लिए आईईसी गतिविधियों को भी बढाया जाएगा।

Chandigarh, August 18:- A meeting of committee constituted by Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh to enhance revenue sources of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today, which was attended by members of the committee namely Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Siddhu, Sh. Satish Kumar Kainth, Sh. Ajay Dutta, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner, Sh. Sanjay Arora, SE (B&R), and Sh. Krishan Pal Singh, SE, Horticulture, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

During the meeting the financial status and sources to enhance the income of Municipal Corporation was discussed in detail and the following resolutions were recommended:

·        The committee discussed and decided that the entry ticket to the gardens/green belts had already been rejected by the General House and this committee may not discuss about the resolution.

·        Door to door waste collection charges may be implemented in the villages recently merged into the Municipal Corporation.

·        Proposal be prepared about regularization of water connection to the residents outside lal dora and amendment in water bye-laws.

·        Govt. institutions be included in addition to general public for the one time settlement of water bill defaulters with suggestions of relaxation @ 10% for one time payment, relaxation @ 7% for two installments and relaxation @ 5% for three installments. The committee also recommended to create awareness among masses about the schemes.

·        Proposals be prepared about displaying advertisements in toilet blocks located at Gardens/green belts.

·        Advertisement proposal for connecting passages to the different city markets.

·        Booking of rooms in Community centres on rent bases.

·        Option be explored to run Gyms in community centres through PPP mode.

·        Indoor and outdoor space at community centres be given on rent for organizing exhibitions.

·        Options be explored to rent out gym and exhibition hall in Mahila Bhawan, sector 38.

·        Possibilities be explored to curtail expenditure on celebration of Chrysanthemum show and Rose Festival.

·        Proposal be prepared to sale out pruned branches (fuel wood) through outsource bases.

·        20% cut in fuel to the office vehicles of all officers of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

The recommendations will be sent to the General House for further discussion and taking final decision on the agendas approved.

             एसडीएम दिलबाग सिंह ने बताया कि उप मंडल में कोरोना फैलाव को रोकने के मद्देनजर शनिवार व रविवार को बाजार/मार्केट पूरी तरह से बंद रहेंगी। इसके अलावा दुकानों के खुलने व बंद करने के समय में भी बदलाव किया गया है। अब दुकान खुलने का समय प्रात: 9 से सायं 6.30 बजे तक रहेगा।

उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र व रिहायशी कालोनियों में स्थित एकल दुकानों को ही शनिवार व रविवार को बंद से छूट दी जाएगी। यदि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में एक साथ दस दुकानें हैं, उन्हें बाजार माना जाएगा और वहां पर भी शनिवार व रविवार को बंद का नियम लागू होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि मेडिकल हाल, पैट्रोल पंप, दुग्ध उत्पाद व डेयरी की दुकानें हर रोज प्रात: 8 से सायं 8 बजे तक खुली रहेंगी। इसके अलावा होटल, ढाबे, रेस्टोरेंट, कैफे आदि में प्रात: 9 से सायं 8 बजे तक ही सर्विस उपलब्ध करवाई जा सकेगी। रात 8 बजे के बाद बैठाकर भोजन करवाने पर पाबंदी रहेगी, लेकिन इसके बाद रात 10 बजे तक पैकिंग से होम डिलवरी कर सकते हैं। इसी प्रकार वैंडर्स/हॉकर पर भी प्रात: 9 से सायं 6.30 बजे तक का नियम लागू रहेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि निर्धारित समय के बाद तथा शनिवार व रविवार को बाजार/मार्केट में गैर जरूरी गतिविधियों के लिए व्यक्तियों की आवाजाही पर सख्ती से निपटा जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि कार्य स्थल पर सभी के लिए मॉस्क लगाना व सोशल डिस्टेसिंग की अनुपालना करना अनिवार्य रहेगा।

एसडीएम ने उप पुलिस अधीक्षक व संबंधित अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि वे अपने-अपने क्षेत्र में नियमों की अनुपालना करवाना सुनिश्ति करेंगे और रिपोर्ट प्रतिदिन रात 8 बजे कार्यालय की ई-मेल आईडी पर भिजवाना सुनिश्चित करेंगे। ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में बीडीपीओ व शहरी क्षेत्र में नगर पालिका सचिव आमजन को जागरूक करते हुए नियमों की अनुपालना करवाएंगे। यदि कोई निर्देशों व नियमों की उल्लंघना करता है, तो उसके खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई अमल में लाई जाए। उन्होंने कहा उप मंडलवासी व दुकानदार कोरोना को लेकर गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा समय-समय पर जारी किए जाने वाले निर्देशों व हिदायतों की अनुपालना करें, ताकि इस वैश्विक महामारी के फैलाव को रोका जा सके।

Administrator tells Councillors can play important role in COVID-19 fight

Chandigarh, August 18:- Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh called interaction through video conference with MP, Mayor and all councilors of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to discuss the situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic and seek their valuable suggestions for the regarding management in Chandigarh.

He said that the involvement of councilors to fight the battle of COVID-19 is very important since they were the ones who have greater accessibility and could keep track of patients within their respective wards. He said that councilors get feedback from people and they very well know the gaps in implementation of steps to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The Administrator asked all the councilors to give their suggestions to fight the battle of COVID-19 in writing so that maximum benefit may be obtained from their experience.

While expressing her concern over the COVID-19, Smt. Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, Chandigarh said that Nursing homes in Chandigarh be allowed to join the Govt. Hospitals to fight the battle against COVID-19. She said that the city will be in better solution with the availability of hospital beds/ventilators through the nursing homes for treatment of the disease. She said that it will strengthen the medical facilities we are giving in Chandigarh.

Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor expressed her gratitude towards the Administrator and the team of officers, Member Parliament and all the councilors for their contribution in fight against the battle of COVID-19. She raised concern over the development as well as maintenance works falling under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and demanded funds from the Administrator to carry out the same.

MC Councillors also raised their concern to curb the spread of disease and said that they are ready to volunteer themselves for the noble cause and for serving the society. They said that teams be formed in area level, which will inform the Administration for taking due course of action according to area based requirements.

The councilors said that screening will be enhanced specially in colonies and villages besides creating awareness among masses through local volunteers to follow social distancing, to take precautions i.e. wearing masks, developing habits of washing hands frequently after touching anything from outside etc.

The councilors raised suggestion to provide helpline numbers in each COVID-19 quarantine centers to the local area so that the family members of the positive case may co-ordinate with them through the helpline numbers.

They further suggested that helpline number is required in the PGI to co-ordinate during the fatality cases with the family members and close relatives. They suggested that traffic coming from outside city be monitored strictly and proper screening be done at all the entry points of Chandigarh. The councilors suggested to impose heavy penalty against the violators, who does not wear mask in the public.

The councilors suggested that baggers be strictly banned in city. They said that to create awareness among masses two minutes schedule of taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19 be added through online classes of every schools following slogans like “Rokiye Aur Tokiye”. Strict discipline be maintained among mobile street vendors and violators be challaned with heavy penalty besides facilities be ensured and monitored properly in quarantine centers.
