Chandigarh, July 23:- Reiterating the commitment of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to make the city No 1 is Swacchta Sarvekshan, Commissioner Municipal Corporation did surprises checking early in the morning, across various  sectors. 

Bringing the focus back on Swacchta, toilets, road berms , open areas, back lanes and parks were inspected by Ms Anindita Mitra IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation today. She was accompanied by Sh Gurinder Sodhi PCS and Sh N P Sharma Chief Engineer.  Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS  today directed the concerned officials of engineering wing and sanitation inspectors to strictly monitor the cleaning of urinals and toilets in public places to ensure better hygiene during monsoon.

During her early morning inspection of city Markets, roads and toilets, the Commissioner today inspected the areas of sector 4, 7, 27, 28, 51, 52, Industrial area and Ramdarbar. 

She directed the staff deployed in public toilets to clean the toilets at least thrice daily. She also asked the concerned officials to check if the facilities are unclean or filthy. Cleaning of toilets near colonies and pockets are being monitored closely where there are more chances of the virus spreading. She directed the officials for ensuring availability of adequate water at these facilities adding that if any toilets is found unhygienic during the inspection by the commissioner appropriate action will be taken against the concerned officials of the concerned area.

The Commissioner said that poor sanitation results in a multitude of problems. A dirty toilet not only invites disease but also impacts citizens’ health and dignity and depletes the environment. Availability to clean public toilet seats will lead to cleaner roads and pedestrian footpaths fresh air, aesthetically beautiful gardens, healthy and mindful citizens and a significantly clear city,” said the Commissioner.

In addition to that she directed the concerned engineers to clean road berms and repair broken kerb channels. She also directed them for proper pruning of trees and regular lifting of horticulture waste and malba scattered on the open spaces.

She also inspected segregation of waste at households and appreciated the local residents for keeping their garbage wet, dry, hazardous and sanitary separately. She suggested the local residents keep their waste in compostable bags instead of keeping it in Polythene bags.

Further, she solicited the support and cooperation of residents of Chandigarh in keeping the city clean and green.

पंचकूला, 23 जुलाई – पिंजौर के समीप शिव लोटिया मंदिर मार्ग पर झुग्गी पर पहाड़ का मलबा गिरने से 10 जुलाई को हुए हादसे में 3 लोगों की मौत के मामले में जिला प्रशासन द्वारा आज मृतकों के परिजनों को 4-4 लाख की आर्थिक सहायता राशि प्रदान की गई। 

राज्य सरकार की नीति अनुसार आपदा में जान गवांने वालों के परिवार के प्रत्यके सदस्य को 4-4 लाख की राशि प्रदान की जाती है। उक्त राशि का स्वीकृति पत्र अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त श्रीमति वर्षा खांगवाल द्वारा आज चैना चैंक पिंजौर में जाकर पीड़ित परिवारों के परिजनों को सौंपा गया।

  श्रीमति वर्षा खांगवाल द्वारा जिला प्रशासन की ओर से पीड़ित परिवार के यहां मृतकों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की गई। इसके साथ ही आश्वस्त किया कि प्रदेश सरकार हमेशा उनके साथ है। उन्होंने आश्वस्त किया कि संकट के इस दौर में परिवार की हर संभव मदद की जाएगी। 

मृतक नन्दी उर्फ आकाश व प्रिया की माता श्रीमति धन्वन्ती को 8 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की गई।  वहीं कार्तिक की माता श्रीमति पूजा को भी राज्य सरकार की तरफ से 4 लाख की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की गई। 

इस दौरान भाजपा जिला अध्यक्ष अजय शर्मा, नगर परिषद चेयरमैन कालका, कृष्ण लांबा, तहसीलदार कालका विवेक गोयल, परियोजना अधिकारी आपदा प्रबंधन सौरभ धीमान, भाजपा युवा जिला मोर्चा अध्यक्ष अक्षरदीप चैधरी, मंडल अध्यक्ष नरौता राम, पार्षद सुरेश एवं अन्य लोग उपस्थित रहे।

उल्लेखनीय है कि बारिश के दौरान ये सभी झुग्गी में शरण लिए हुए थे। पहाड़ का मलबा गिरा और ये नीचे दब गए। सूचना मिलते ही प्रशासन की रेस्क्यू टीम मौके पर पहुंची और राहत बचाव कार्य शुरू किया। आकाश और कार्तिक को तो निकाल कर घायल अवस्था में अस्पताल ले जाया गया, लेकिन डॉक्टरों ने उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया। प्रिया को भी निकाल लिया पर वह मौके पर दम तोड़ चुकी थी।

Panchkula, July 23 – In response to the tragic incident on July 10, where three lives were lost due to the falling of mountain debris on a slum at the Shiv Lotia Mandir Marg near Pinjore, Panchkula district administration provided timely financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakhs each to the families of the deceased.

Under the state government policy, compensation of 4 lakh is given to each member of the family of those who lost their lives in the disaster. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Varsha Khangwal handed over the sanction letter of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the victims by at Chaina Chowk, Pinjore today.

On this occasion, Smt. Varsha Khangwal paid heartfelt condolences to the departed souls on behalf of the district administration and assured the grieving families that the state government stands with them during this difficult time. She further said that all possible help and support will be extended to the bereaved families.

The financial assistance of Rs. 8 lakhs was provided to Mrs. Dhanwanti, the mother of the deceased Nandi alias Akash and Priya. In addition, the mother of deceased Karthik, Smt Pooja, was also provided with financial aid of Rs. 4 lakhs.

BJP District President Ajay Sharma, Municipal Council Chairman Kalka, Krishna Lamba, Tehsildar Kalka Vivek Goel, Project Officer Disaster Management Saurabh Dhiman, BJP Youth District Morcha President Akshardeep Chaudhary, Mandal Adhyaksh Naruta Ram, Municipal Councilor Suresh, and others were also present. 

It may be mentioned here that the tragic incident occurred during heavy rains when the victims sought shelter in the slum. Unfortunately, they were caught under the debris when the mountain collapsed. The administration’s rescue team immediately responded to the situation and commenced relief operations. While Akash and Karthik were taken to the hospital, they were declared brought dead. Priya, too, succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

The district administration remains committed to providing assistance and support to the affected families and will continue to work to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
