Chandigarh, July 27:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has extended the last date for depositing the property tax by cheque/DD upto 31st July, 2020.
The last date for depositing the property tax at sampark counters and the last date for payment by cheque was 27th July, 2020, which has been extended keeping in view heavy rush at the sampark counters and for the convenience of the general public.

Chandigarh, July 23:-The Committee constituted to generate revenue from Dhobi Ghats today visited different dhobi ghats in city under the chairmanship of Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali accompanied by other councilor members of the committee namely Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, Smt. Ravinder Kaur Gujral and concerned officers of MCC namely Sh. Ravinder Sharma and Sh. Dharminder Sharma, Executive Engineers, B&R, MCC.
During the visit the panel took stock of the infrastructure available in the dhobi ghats including sector 7, 15, 19 and sector 22. During the visit in Sector 22 Dhobi ghat Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor accompanied the panel as area councilor.
The members suggested that assessment report of repair and renovation be prepared and put up in the next meeting of committee. The panel found that all the dhobi ghats are being run by societies excluding Modern Dhobi Ghat situated at sector 15. They found that out of eight dhobi ghats only one Modern Dhobi ghat situated at sector 15 is paying monthly rent to the Municipal Corporation. While the other dhobi ghats being run by the societies are only paying electricity water bills no rate list found in these dhobi ghats.
The committee asked the concerned engineers to prepare auction notice to auction these dhobi ghats situated at prime location in the city through e-tendering to generate revenue to the MCC.
Chandigarh, July 22:-A meeting of Water Supply & Sewerage Disposal Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey and attended by other members of committee namely Sh. Hardeep Singh, Sh. Bharat Kumar, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Sh. Jagtar Singh, Sh. Dalip Sharma, Sh. Gurpreet Dhillon, Haji Mohd. Khushird Ali and concerned officers of MCC.
The committee members discussed and decided following important issues related to water supply and sewerage disposal:
1. Replacement of standby 6.3/8 MVA power transformer installed at 66 KV substation for water works Kajauli as deposit work at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.55 lacs.
2. The details of non-revenue water supply and leakage should be placed before the next meeting of the committee.
3. The committee observed that the water supply, sewerage and storm water system is essential service being provided by the MCC and suitable steps be taken in this regard to avoid health hazardous in all the villages. The members also sought proper detailed list of tubewells falling in the villages.
4. The committee asked the concerned officers to initiate campaign in the villages to allot water connection after settlement of their old water bill disputes.
5. The committee also discussed the issue of water supply bylaws to regulate the water tanker service in city.
6. The committee asked the concerned engineers to check the illegal boring of tubewells in institutes and tap them immediately to ensure health and hygiene of citizens.
7. The committee members sought list of all toilet blocks maintained by the Self Help Groups under the jurisdiction of MCC.
8. The members asked the officers to put up status of mobile water ATM scheme in the next meeting to take appropriate action.
9. The committee asked the concerned engineers to pursue the case of deposit work for provision of hot line at Kajauli Water works.
10. The members were of the view that developmental works being carried out by the Municipal Corporation be intimated to the respected area councilor prior to the execution.
Chandigarh, July 20:-Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh today attended a VC with Ms. Sukriti Likhi, Joint Secretary, Govt. of India, who is also Nodal officer, PM Svanidhi Yojna (PM Street Vendor’s Atamnirbhar Nidhi) for Chandigarh.
During the VC, the Commissioner apprised about the awareness programme regarding PM Svanidhi yojna in Chandigarh and also briefed about the progress under this programme in city i.e. hoardings, banners, public announcements, pamphlets distribution and other modes of creating awareness besides information regarding online and offline submissions of applications in this field.
Sh. Saurabh Arora, Joint Commissioner, Sh. Vivek Trivedi, Social Development Officer, DAY NULM, LDM Chandigarh, TVC members, presidents of city level federation and area level federations of city were also present during the VC.
Chandigarh, July 20:-Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh flagged off 13 tractors here today for maintenance of parks and road berms in presence of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.
While sharing information about the tractors, the Mayor briefed that these 13 tractors have been purchased under the landscaping work at Rs. 50 lacs. She said that these tractors will be used for running shrubmaster, which is used for removal/cutting of grass from V-3 to V-6 roads and parks in the city.
She said that some tractors will be used to carry water tankers for irrigation in the city parks & green belts and for watering the plants in various road berms & central verges etc. throughout city.
She further said that few tractors will be used for scientific disposal of removed grass, dry leaves and horticulture waste from the parks and other areas. Other landscaping work by leveling and dressing of earth work in parks and road berms will also be carried out with the support of these tractors, she added.

Asha Kumari Jaswal, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, Smt. Ravinder Kaur Gujral, Sh. Charanjiv Singh and Sh. Ravinder Sharma & Sh. Dharminder Sharma, Executive Engineers, Roads division No. 2 and 3, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
During the meeting, the members discussed various issues related to Dhobi ghats including the following important topics:
· The committee observed that temporary repair of roofs, floors and boundary walls alongwith provision of toilet blocks be done after inspection by the committee members.
· The members suggested that terms and conditions regarding the policy be reviewed in the next meeting.
· The committee members have discussed and resolved that rates should be fixed for washing the different types of clothes, so that public is not harassed.
· The members also suggested that Dhobi Ghats situated at sectors should be provided with modern facilities and latest technologies.
· The Chairperson alongwith the Committee Members have decided that open auction or e-tendering as per the decision of General House should be conducted after fixing proper reserve price.
The Committee members have decided to visit all the dhobi ghats in city on 22nd and 23rd July, 2020 to take stock of the infrastructure over there.
Chandigarh, July 17:-A meeting of committee constituted by Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh to enhance revenue sources of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today in the conference room of MCC, which was attended by member councilors namely Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Siddhu, Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Sh. Satish Kumar Kainth, Sh. Satish Kumar Jain and Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioners, Sh. Saurabh Arora, Joint Commissioner, Sh. Shailender Singh, Chief Engineer and other senior officers of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
During the meeting the financial status and sources to enhance the income of Municipal Corporation and following issues were discussed in detail:
· As per the Act, the rights of revenue such as transfer of RLA and Stamp Duty etc. may be allowed to the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to strengthen its financial position.
· Short term, mid term and long term measures be taken in the field of revenue generation in all the resources.
· Recommendations of 4th Delhi finance commission be implemented.
· Possibilities be explored to conduct survey through agency regarding generating revenue resources in the MCC.
· Agenda be brought out in the General House meeting of MCC to rent out or dispose off constructed properties case to case falling under the jurisdiction of MCC.
· Village wise revenue record of properties and lands be generated.
· Space for ATMs be identified in the community centres to generate revenue.
· One post of Patwari and Kanungo be filled up to look after Estate wing in MCC to generate revenue records and maintain all the properties & land in villages falling under the jurisdiction of MCC.
· Agenda be brought up in General house meeting to impose cess on sale and purchase deeds of properties and vehicles in Chandigarh.
· The project of bus queue shelters be fully transferred to the MCC including liense fee and Advertisement fee.
· Possibilities be explored to identify more Unipoll spaces in city to generate handsome revenue.
· Advertisements be allowed on first come first serve basis only online for generating revenue for the time being till the tender of Advertisements in toilet blocks matures.
· Department may workout on Neon advertisements on prominent buildings of MCC.
· Booking of open spaces and advertisement permission through online to enhance the revenue.
· Survey of Dhabas and eating joints for renting out the space on Sq. Ft. basis to allow table and chairs outside and corners besides their premises.
· Advertisement control Act powers and rent be channelize through proper regulation and regular enforcement. Receipt of Challan fee be made instant/on the spot.
· Water bill arrears be settled one time bases to recover the long pendency.
· Policy of rent from mobile towers be reviewed in the next meeting.
· Survey may be conducted to provide space for ATMs in the tubewells.
· Survey may be conducted to fix dimmers on street lights and lights provide in the city parks.
The next meeting has been scheduled to be held on 24th July, 2020 at 11.00 am.
Chandigarh, July 15:- Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh today called a meeting of Engineers of B&R circle, MCC to review the progress of road recarpeting in the city.
The meeting was attended by Sh. Sanjay Arora, SE (B&R), Sh. Ravinder Sharma, Sh. Ajay Garg, Sh. Dharminder Sharma, Executive Engineers of B&R circle, MCC.
The Mayor asked the concerned Executive Engineers to prepare status report of recarpeting in the city having expenditure about 38 crores. She also asked the engineers to submit the status of recarpeting of roads in the villages under village development plan.

Chandigarh, July 13:- Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali, area councilor of ward No. 20 started tree plantation drive at Pinkcasia garden, sector 29, here today. During the drive the councilor planted different type of saplings of fruit plants including Beal, Guava, Lokat, Lichi, Jamun besides planting flowering plants including Jatropha, Gardenia and Ticoma etc in the garden.
Sh. Jangsher Singh, Executive Engineer, Horticulture wing, MCC, Preident, General Secretary and other office bearers of Resident Welfare Association were also present during the occasion and also planted various shrubs and ornamental plants in the garden.
