चंडीगढ़, 27 नवंबर ( ): पिछड़ा वर्ग के अधिकारों के लिए ओबीसी महासभा महान समाज सुधारक व शिक्षा के लिए अलख जगाने वाले ज्योतिबा फुले जी की पुण्य तिथि पर रोहतक से चंडीगढ़ तक ‘ओबीसी अधिकार पद यात्रा’ का आयोजन कर रहा है, जो कि 28 नवंबर को रोहतक से शुरू होकर 12 दिन बाद 9 दिसंबर को चंडीगढ़ में संपन्न होगी। इस संबंधी जानकारी देते हुए ओबीसी महासभा के राष्ट्रीय सचिव योगेंद्र योगी व शमशेर कश्यप ने बताया कि ओबीसी पद यात्रा 28 नवम्बर सुबह 9 बजे डॉ. भीमराव आंबेडकर चौक रोहतक से शुरू होकर गोहाना, इसराना, पानीपत, घरौंडा, करनाल ,तरावड़ी आदि विभिन्न शहरों से होकर दिनांक 8 दिसम्बर को पंचकूला अम्बेडकर भवन पहुंचेगी। उन्होंने बताया कि 9 दिसम्बर को महामहिम राज्यपाल को अपनी मांगों का ज्ञापन सौंपकर यात्रा का समापन होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि ओबीसी अधिकार पद यात्रा प्रदेश के अलग-अलग जिलों, शहरों, कस्बों, गांवों से गुजरेगी, जिसका उद्देश्य राजनीतिक रूप से वंचित एवं हर तरह से शोषित तबके को जागरूक कर एकजुट करना है। ओबीसी महासभा के पदाधिकारियों ने पिछड़ा वर्ग के लोगों को इसमें बढ़ चढक़र हिस्सा लेने के लिए आह्वान किया।

A day long workshop was organized by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics of Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh today. The theme of the event was – “Magnification and Glide Path Management in Endodontics key to success” which was presided over by Dr. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examination, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The workshop comprised of lecture and hands on by Dr. Rahul Grover, an eminent Endodontics who has expertise in Microscopes and Rotary Endodontics.
Accordingly to Dr. Ruchi Singla, Convener, the event was attended by 100 students and faculty of the Institute and adjoining dental colleges who gathered to dive into this sea of knowledge.

Chandigarh, November 20:-The city beautiful Chandigarh has bagged the award for best performing Union Territory under the “Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge” for 2021.
The Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri today felicitated the award to Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh at the ‘Swachh Amrit Mahotsav’ hosted as part of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
While elaborating about the programme, the Mayor said that the award ceremony, organized to recognize the good work done for Swachhata by towns/ cities, States and Union Territories under various initiatives of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), viz. Swachh Survekshan 2021, Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge, and certifications for Garbage Free Star rating for cities.
He said that Chandigarh emerged as the top performer, across different population categories among Union Territories in the “Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge”, launched last year by MoHUA to eradicate human fatalities from hazardous cleaning of sewers and septic tanks.
He said that in the last one year, the SafaiMitra Suraksha Challenge has been able to propel the ‘manhole to machine hole’ revolution in urban India through initiatives such as credit linkages of SafaiMitras with banks, on-the-job trainings and setting up of helpline number 14420 in over 190 cities – a citizens’ grievance platform.
While in Swachhata Survekshan-21 (from April, 2020 to March, 2021), Chandigarh bagged 16th rank in more than 10 lakh population. This time covering 4320 cities, including 62 cantonment boards, Swachh Survekshan 2021 was completely digitalized as the data was collected through multifarious platforms like apps and portals especially designed for conducting the assessment.
The Mayor said that the assessment began from March 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021. He said that the survey was divided into three major parts including Service level progress (25 indicators) comprising waste segregation and collection, processing and disposal of waste and sustainable sanitation; Certification (2 indicators) on the bases of Star rating of Garbage free city (GFC) and ODF++ and Water + parameters for certification. Besides this there was major parameter Citizens’ Voice (25 indicators) comprises citizen feedback, citizen engagement and experience, Swachhata App, innovations and best practices.
The Mayor said that the ranking of the citizens was a combination of these indicators, which was carried out in three quarters. While quarter 1 and quarter 2 saw implementation of on-call validation about the claims made by the ULBs, in quarter 3, on-field validation and citizen feedback were conducted.
He said that a futuristic and state-of-the-art spatial GIS platform was launched that will further propel the Mission towards smart, data driven decision making. These new digital enablements will further enable the Mission to become paperless, robust and transparent, along with round-the-clock connectivity with States, Cities and stakeholders across the Swachhata spectrum.

Chandigarh, November 18:- Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today inaugurated renovated community centre at sector 39, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Smt. Gurbax Rawat, area councilor, other councilors and prominent persons of the area.
Having 1050 squares meter built up area, this community centre has been renovated with sound proof hall with fall celling alongwith creation with bride and bride groom room, kitchen, senior citizen meeting hall etc at a cost of Rs. 39 lacs. Facilities in ground floor including groom room with attached toilet, sampark centre, hall, senior citizen room, kitchen, office, toilet blocks for ladies and gents while bride/groom room with attached toilet, gym hall, library, office room, toilet blocks and chowkidar room with kitchen and toilet in the first floor. Parking space for nearly 25 cars has been provided inside the compound area of community centre.
While addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is providing community centres at each and every sector of the city and the earlier provided community centres are being upgraded with latest specifications and modern technologies by sound proofing of the halls.

Chandigarh, November 18:-Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today inaugurated civil dispensary at sector 39 D, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Smt. Gurbax Rawat, area councilor, other councilors and prominent persons of the area.
While speaking on the occasion after inaugurating the dispensary, the Mayor applauded the Municipal Corporation for providing better facilities for the citizens of Chandigarh. He said that the MCC improving and upgrading the existing infrastructure facilities in the sector of Primary Health and providing new dispensaries in other areas. He said that people of the area will have primary health services nearby their doorsteps with the provision of this dispensary.
The Mayor said that the dispensary in sector 39 has been spread in 686 square meter covered area of the building. The expenditure has been incurred to the tune of Rs. 2.63 crores in construction of the building and has been completed within stipulated time period.
He further said that this necessities of health services in the building have been provided comprising registration room, doctor’s examination room, laboratory, injection room, HIV, Maleria lab, vaccination & family welfare room, RNTCP/DOT centre, sterilization/injection/dressing/ pharmacy room, toilet blocks for ladies, gents and physically challenged and chowkidar room with kitchen and toilet besides parking space for 25 cars inside the dispensary compound.

Chandigarh, November 18:-Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today inaugurated the Apni Mandi and day market site near EWS colony, Maloya in the presence of Smt. Chanderawati Shukla, chairperson, Apni Mandi & day market committee, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, area councilor and other members of the committee.
The Mayor directed the Apni Mandi officials to ensure that only farmers having proper ID be allowed to sit in their space, as enforcement staff will remove all illegal vendors. He asked the concerned officers to check feasibility to provide public toilet and provision of water tanker at the Apni Mandi site. The Mayor also instructed the concerned officers to deploy one enforcement inspector for proper rule enforcement at Apni Mandi and day market sites.

A committee constituted by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh with regard to running of departmental canteens of Physics, Chemistry and Geology finalised the directions for the same which are as under:-
· Departmental canteens be operated on the pattern of Tuck shops
· Packed food be served. No cooking be allowed
· Gas Cylinders not to be used in such canteens.
· Electrical Oven, Induction plates and Vending machines for tea/coffee and re-heating of cooked food may be permitted.
· Timings of the departmental canteens be restricted from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm
· There should be no preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner in these canteens.
· Provisions of Chairs and tables be allowed only within the built up area of the canteen and on violation of this, a fine of Rs. 5000/- be imposed after any such violation is reported by the Chairperson of the concerned department.
The Chairpersons of the respective departments are informed to share the information with the concerned canteen contractors accordingly to incorporate the above directions.

Chandigarh, November 17:- Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today distributed PAN cards and certificates of registration to Area Level Federations under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) project, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh and other councilors of MCC.
While addressing the office bearers of Self Help Groups, who have registered Area Level Federations in different parts of city, the Mayor said that taking a proactive approach, MCC has facilitated generation of Permanent Account Number (PAN) Cards for 19 Area Level Federations of Chandigarh out of which 13 PAN Cards have already been generated. Creation of this vital link will integrate the ALFs with the financial and business matrix of the country.
He said that the prime objective of linking all the Area Level Federations (ALFs) withPAN Card under Income Tax Department is to make them eligible and formally capablefor applying under contracts and bids (running canteens, maintenance and management of community based projects etc.) for getting project, development work with all the Government and Non-Government agencies at par with otherCivil Societies, commercial agencies and Non-government organizations.
The Mayor further said that the MCC has been undertaking various measures for addressing the issue of urban poverty under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM). Social Mobilization and Institutional Development (SM&ID) is one such component under DAY-NULM through which Self Help Groups and Area Level Federations are constituted for empowering women and creating conducive entrepreneurial environment.
He said that the ALFs are community based women organizations and federations of women based Self Help Groups (SHGs), which are engaged in Thrift & Credit among their local groups at local level and other entrepreneurial work eg.Packing, Boutique Work, Stationary, Handloom, Embroidery Work, management of community toilets etc.
The Mayor said that in future, the DAY NULM branch has planned to develop the capacities of such community based organizations i.e. ALFs by making them registered under various other sections of Income Tax Act, 1961 eg. Section 12 A and 80 G as well in addition to getting them registered under DARPAN Portal of Niti Aayog, so that such community based organizations got empowered to compete with other organizations in fetching works in various development domains.
