*Chandigarh, November 24:-* City Mayor Sh. Anup Gupta on Friday inaugurated the parking area adjoining Green Belt and religious places i.e. Temple, Church and Gurudwara Sahib, Sector 41, here in the presence of Sh. Hardeep Singh Butrela, area councilor, other councilors and prominent persons of the local area.

The parking lot will ease the parking woes in the area, especially during morning and evening timings for the daily visitors to the green belt and the devotees coming to Temple, Church and Gurudwara Sahib. Having parking area of nearly 9500 sqft., the site has been developed at a cost of Rs. 11.74 lacs with providing and fixing paver blocks.

After inaugurating the parking area, the Mayor said that green belts and parks in the city are the most visiting destinations of the local residents as well as other visitors and providing and developing parking of vehicles adjoining these green belts would help in reducing traffic bottlenecks.

He further said that in this parking space beautiful landscapes have been developed by providing flowering shrubs in the surroundings of the parking site. He said that with the provision of this parking space the local residents also got rid from the dumping old vehicles unauthorizedly by the habitual violators in the kachha area.
