PU Syndicate Meeting

 Panjab University in its Syndicate Meeting deliberated on all 21 agenda items, here today.

The Syndicate discussed at length the recommendations of the committee constituted for fees structure (Tuition fees and otherUniversity charges) in the University Teaching Departments andRegional Centres of PU for the Session 2019-20. The Syndicate formed a committee for rationalisation of fee structure. The matter will, thereafter be taken directly to the Senate for approval.

The Syndicate approved the recommendations regarding rules of promotion policy/relaxation of time period for promotion of laboratory and technical staff of Panjab University. 

The Syndicate approved grant of Paternity Leave to the College teachers.          The Syndicate approved in principle the recommendations of the committee regarding increase in number of seats/additional/new courses in various departments of Panjab University from the academic session 2019-20, except-self financed Ph.d Programme (UIPS), where, the Syndicate recommended for exploring industry sponsorship for the course. Fees rationalisation will be done before the implementation of the same.

The Syndicate approved appointment of Dr. Anish Slath, Assistant Professor as Director at University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management for the period of 3 years. 


The Syndicate approved introduction of BA (Hons) and B.Com(Hons) courses in the Department of Evening Studies-Multi Disciplinary Research Centres w.e.f. the academic session 2019-20.
