Paras Health Panchkula Drives Organ Donation Awareness to Save Lives Across India
The campaign aims to educate the public, dispel myths, and inspire more people to register as organ donors, supporting the growing culture of life-saving transplants
Panchkula, August 13, 2025: Paras Health Panchkula has launched a dedicated awareness campaign to highlight the life-saving potential of organ donation. As part of the initiative, the hospital is conducting community education programs, myth-busting sessions, and digital outreach to explain who can donate, how the process works, and how to register.
Despite remarkable progress in medical science and transplantation, awareness around organ donation remains crucial. According to the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), India continues to make steady advancements in organ transplantation, with over 18,900 transplants performed in 2024[1] . Thousands of patients are on waiting lists for organs like kidneys and livers, underscoring the importance of informed public participation.
“Every organ donor can save multiple lives and give patients a real chance to regain their health and independence. Many people wait months or years for a transplant, and timely donations can make the difference between life and death. By giving clear information and encouraging open conversations, we hope more people take the step to register as organ donors and make a meaningful impact for families who are waiting,” said Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Facility Director at Paras Health Panchkula.
The hospital’s campaign also addresses common questions and hesitations about organ donation, including myths, cultural considerations, and the donation process itself. By building public trust and clarifying the steps involved, Paras Health Panchkula aims to encourage informed action.
Through this initiative, the hospital seeks to strengthen the culture of empathy, informed decision-making, and community support around organ donation. Individuals and families are encouraged to learn more, have open conversations about organ donation, and register as organ donors to give the ultimate gift of life.
