Panchkula December 10- Shri Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, has announced that the National Lok Adalat will be held on December 14, 2024, at the District Courts Panchkula and the Kalka Sub-Division Courts. The Lok Adalat will be conducted under the guidance of Shri S.P. Singh, Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA), and Shri V.P. Sirohi, District and Sessions Judge, Panchkula.

This Lok Adalat will primarily focus on the resolution of online traffic challans, challans related to impounded vehicles, and drunken driving cases.

Shri Ghanghas emphasized that the fines imposed during the Lok Adalat will be significantly lower compared to the regular fines charged at the traffic challaning branches. This initiative aims to encourage people to resolve their pending cases on Lok Adalat Day, thereby saving time and money.

Help Desks Established for Assistance
To facilitate public participation, help desks have been set up at strategic locations, including:
1. Deputy Commissioner’s Office Secretariat, Panchkula
2. SBI Bank, Sector-8, Panchkula
3. Traffic Challaning Branch, Sector-12, Panchkula
4. District Courts Complex, Panchkula

These help desks will guide individuals on resolving their cases and accessing the benefits offered by the Lok Adalat.

Benches for Effective Disposal of Cases
Special benches will be constituted for the efficient disposal of cases during the Lok Adalat. These benches will operate with the approval of the District and Sessions Judge, Panchkula, ensuring that litigants receive prompt and amicable resolutions.

Expansion of Legal Aid Clinics in Panchkula
In a significant move to extend legal aid to rural areas, Shri Ghanghas informed that new Legal Aid Clinics have been established in various blocks of Panchkula, including:
• Village Rattewali
• Village Raipurani
• Village Gorakhpur
• Village Bhoj Jabial, Morni

These clinics aim to provide free legal assistance and guidance to residents in remote areas, ensuring equitable access to justice. To create awareness about these clinics, the District Development and Panchayat Officers (DDPOs) have been instructed to organize munadi (public announcements) in their respective villages.

Regular Jail Lok Adalats in Panchkula
Shri Ghanghas also highlighted the ongoing efforts to address the legal issues of inmates. Under the guidance of Shri S.P. Singh, Member Secretary, HALSA, Jail Lok Adalats are being held regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. These Lok Adalats provide a platform for the speedy resolution of cases involving inmates, promoting restorative justice.

Awareness Campaigns on NALSA Helpline
In a bid to enhance legal awareness, Shri Ghanghas has sought reports from various departments to ensure that the outer walls of their offices are painted with the NALSA Helpline Number 15100 and details of the NALSA Portal. This initiative aims to promote the availability of legal assistance to the public, particularly those in need.

Call for Public Participation
The DLSA Panchkula urges citizens to take advantage of the National Lok Adalat to resolve their pending challans and cases in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This event not only provides financial relief through reduced fines but also promotes the spirit of amicable dispute resolution.
