MCC organizes street play to create awareness about Mission Swachh Chandigarh
Chandigarh, January 6:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has organized a street play to create awareness about the Swachh Chandigarh Mission at Elante Mall, Industrial Area, Phase-I, here today.
Runners up team of street play competition namely ‘Paigaam dramatic club’ from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26 performed the play on segregation of waste at source level.
Earlier, SBM brand ambassador for Chandigarh Ms. Kajal Mangalmukhi encouraged citizens to participate in home composting of waste produced in their respective households through a play alongwith other artists.
In addition to that, the performers and audience took ‘Swachhata Pledge’ for not mixing their waste at household and put four type of waste i.e. dry, wet, hazardous and sanitary waste separately so that the same can be disposed off scientifically.
The ward no. 20 strives to be an Aatamnirbhar ward comprising areas of Sector 29 and industrial area Phase-I. According to the guidelines, in an Aatamnirbhar ward 100% wet waste will be processed within the ward and 100% dry waste sent to Material Recovery Facility Station located at the same ward.
