Chandigarh, November 12:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has carried out Swachh Ward survey among all the 35 wards which covered major swacchta indicators i.e. Segregation of Waste at source level, citizen engagement, adopting Home Composting and 3 R principles etc.


During the survey, different parameters were given by the jury and total marks were 100 for different categories involving all stakeholders including Resident Welfare Associations, Market Welfare Associations, colleges, schools, Hospitals, Hotels, Gardens and Government offices and wards etc.


Entries for the competition were taken through a Google form circulated among RWA, MWA, School, Colleges, Hospital /health facility, Parks & Garden and Government office for self-assessment. To physically verify the entries, an on-fieldinspection team was constituted that included NGOs, NSS volunteers & Sanitary Inspectors.
A jury headed by the Mayor, Ms Sarbjit Kaur, and Ms Gurbax Rawat and Ms Prem Lata Councillors, adjudicated the final results.
