*MC Commissioner orders swift action to tackle Sector 35’s road and drainage concerns*

*Chandigarh, September 2:-* In a proactive move to address civic issues, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh engineering team conducted a comprehensive inspection of Sector 35 today, focusing on roads, stormwater drainage, and waste management systems.

The inspection was carried out on the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, and was led by Chief Engineer Sh. Sanjay Arora, accompanied by Area Councillor Smt. Prem Lata. Officials from the Road Wing, Horticulture Wing, Public Health Wing, and MOH staff were also present.

Key Observations & Directives were issued duringthe inspection:

Road Repairs:

The Road Wing has been instructed to initiate immediate patchwork and ensure the timely floating of tenders for comprehensive road repairs.

Stormwater Drainage:

Water stagnation was observed near the BBMB Guest House and a nearby Mandir. The Public Health Wing has been directed to split the stormwater works and take priority action, including the installation of additional road gullies to improve drainage.

Waste Management:

An abandoned SSK was found in the area. The Horticulture Wing has been asked to reactivate and utilize it for shredding horticulture waste prior to disposal.

The Commissioner has emphasized immediate action and consistent monitoring by all wings to ensure timely and effective resolution of the identified issues.
