*Mayor inaugurates newly developed neighbourhood park in Sector 24*
*Chandigarh, August 29:-*
Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor, Chandigarh today inaugurated a newly developed neighbourhood park measuring 1.30 acres, located adjoining House No. 1032 and House No. 1027, Sector 24, Chandigarh.
The inauguration was held in the presence of the area Councillor Sh. Saurabh Joshi, Special Commissioner Sh. Pardeep Kumar, IAS and other prominent persons of the area.
The development of the park has been undertaken at an expenditure of approximately ₹22.50 lakhs.
The park has been equipped with various citizen-friendly facilities including:
• Open air gym equipment
• Children’s play equipment
• Benches and huts
• Cement concrete walking track
• Lush green grass lawns
• Flowering and ornamental shrubs
To promote sustainable practices, the park is also equipped with aerobic compost pits for effective management of horticulture waste generated within the premises.
On this occasion, several members of Residents Welfare Associations, Market Associations, and local residents from Sector 15 and Sector 24 were present.
The Mayor appreciated the active participation of citizens in maintaining and nurturing green spaces and appealed to the residents to take collective responsibility in keeping their neighbourhood parks clean, green and well-maintained.
