Panchkula, November 30 – In a significant move, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr Gian Chand Gupta has announced to provide a financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to the poor families of the villages falling in Panchkula Assembly constituency to get the roofs of their houses pucca.
Mr Gupta made this announcement while speaking as a chief guest at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Jan Samvad programme organized at the Government Senior Secondary School, Bunga in Barwala block of the district .
Mr Gupta said that financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each will be provided to get roofs of 50 houses pucca in 20 villages of Panchkula assembly constituency. The expenditure will be borne by him from his discretionary fund, he added.
He said that a three-member committee comprising Block Development and Panchayats Officer (BDPO), Sarpanch of the concerned village and social worker will be formed. The committee will visit these villages and take stock of the damage and submit its report, said Mr Gupta adding that on the basis of actual loss, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each will be provided. This financial assistance will be given in two equal installments of Rs 50,000 each. He said that the Sarpanch of the concerned village will play an important role in the actual assessment of the loss.
It may be recalled that earlier also on several occasions, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta has helped the poor and needy. Along with politics, he also discharges his social obligations well. Be it the matter of girl’s education, marriage of daughters from poor families, religious programmes or encouraging sportspersons, Mr Gian Chand Gupta always prepared to help the poor and needy people.
