Fire & Rescue services committee meeting held
Chandigarh, July 28:- A meeting of Fire and rescue services committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Gurpreet Singh Dhillon and attended by other members of committee namely Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Sh. Devinder Singh Babla, Sh. Charanjiv Singh and Maj. Gen. Kandal attended the meeting virtually, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner-cum-Chief Fire Officer and concerned officers of MCC were also present during the meeting.
The committee members discussed and decided following important issues related to water supply and sewerage disposal:
· The members discussed about the special insurance cover to all the firemen and recommended that an agenda item be prepared and brought into the General House meeting for final decision in this regard.
· The members were of the view that special drives be carried out to check that the private as well as govt. institutes have implemented the fire safety measures according to the approved norms otherwise sealing operations be started against the violators.
· The committee members asked to prepare communication system specifications and put up in the General House for final approval to introduce the system in the Fire & Rescue services department of MCC.
