Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma conducts surprise inspection of Sector 20 market, orders removal of illegal encroachments
No compromise on food quality will be tolerated,” says Deputy Commissioner
Panchkula, October 28: Deputy Commissioner Sh Satpal Sharma conducted a surprise inspection of the Sector 20 market last night and directed shopkeepers to immediately remove all illegal encroachments. He emphasized that no encroachment will be tolerated in Panchkula under any circumstances.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner observed that several shopkeepers and showroom owners had extended their business space onto public areas by placing stalls in front of their shops. He said that such encroachments obstruct traffic movement and cause inconvenience to the public. Sh Sharma instructed officials of the Municipal Corporation to remove these encroachments on a priority basis.
Taking strict cognizance of food trucks operating within the market’s parking area, he also ordered their immediate removal to ensure smooth parking and pedestrian movement.
Deputy Commissioner further inspected various sweet shops and fast-food outlets in the market. He personally checked the quality of food items and visited kitchens to assess hygiene standards. The Deputy Commissioner directed shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness and ensure daily cleaning of kitchens and work areas.
He reiterated that no compromise will be accepted on the quality of food being sold in sweet shops, restaurants, and fast-food outlets. Sh Satpal Sharma also urged residents to check manufacturing and expiry dates before purchasing any food items.
It is noteworthy that Deputy Commissioner Sh Sharma had recently carried out similar inspections in the Sector 7 and Sector 9 markets ahead of Diwali, where he issued directions to remove encroachments and maintain food quality standards.
