Commissioner visits Sector 55 & 56 to take stock of ongoing development works; listens to the issues of area residents
Chandigarh, April 25:- Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today visited Sector 55 and 56 to take stock of ongoing development works alongwith to see the issues of area residents.
The ‘on foot’ visit was started at 6.30 am in the morning. The Commissioner was accompanied by Sh. Manaur, area councilor, chief engineer, all Superintending Engineers and concerned Executive Engineers, SDEs, Junior Engineers of MCC, office bearers of Resident Welfare Associations and local residents.
The visit was started from Sector 55, where the Commissioner asked the SE, B&R to take up the matter of land demarcation for developing community centre in sector 54 opposite sector 55 on V-3 road. She also asked the B&R engineers to write about the provision of bus queue shelter on V-3 road dividing sectors 55/54.
The commissioner asked the public health engineers to make provisions of road gullies wherever required in the internal roads and proper cleaning of existing road gullies be done well before monsoon. She said that speed breaker be provided on internal road from V-3 side to Sector 55.
She directed the SE B&R to make provision of house indicator boards in sector 55 and asked the horticulture wing for proper cleaning of parks besides repair of railings, painting children play equipments and pruning of trees. She asked the engineers for leveling of low lying areas inside the park with proper landscaping and developing flower beds in the park.
The Commissioner directed the enforcement wing to remove temporary encroachments from the road berms and other road side areas. She asked the B&R engineers to take up matter of cleaning of reserve land/vacant land lying between sector 55 and Palsora and check feasibility to develop green belt and take up the matter with Administration for proper demarcation of the site.
Keeping in view the condition of park at Palsora, the commissioner orders for renovation of toilet block, repair of footpath and swings including other children play equipments in the park. She asked the engineers to remove overhead cables without tagging and issue challans to the violators.
The Commissioner asked the Chief Engineer to take up the matter of closed civil dispensary with Director Health Services.
