Collaborative workshop on Latest Technology in Sewing
University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development, (UIFT & VD), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized an Online Sewing Technology Workshop in collaboration with Usha International Ltd for the first semester of B.Sc. Fashion and lifestyle Technology.
This session was designed to familiarize students with the most recent sewing machines and the technology. A live demonstration of the operation of several types of sewing machines, including the use of various sewing machine functions and attachments, was given.
The application of beaded strings, embroidered designs, couching, neckline finishing, and ornamental binding application was intriguing and kept the participants interested. Suggestions by participating students for different design creation options, such as appliqué work in various forms, were demonstrated.
Dr. Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson UIFT & VD, remarked that it is critical for a student of fashion design and technology to be familiar with the newest equipment and machinery since this would allow them to build their own designs.
