As a part of the Petroleum Conservation Research Association’s (PCRA’s) larger campaign – Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav (Saksham), GAIL (India) Limited organized Saksham Fit India Walkathon on Feb 9, 2020 at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh from 8 AM onwards. In this event more than 1200 participants including School Children, College Students, Citizens & Dignitaries participated and walked a distance of more than 2 Kms between Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden. Smt. Banto Devi Kataria, Independent Director-GAIL (India) Limited was Chief Guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries present on the dais were Sh. Lalit Bhatt – CGM, GAIL; Sh. Shalabh Raj Gupta – SLC, Chandigarh; Sh. Sanjeev Verma – SRO, PCRA; Sh S. Ghoshal – GM, IOCL; Sh. S.Mitra –GM, GAIL and Sh. Sanjay Arora – DGM, GAIL.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest emphasized that the objective of Walkathon is to sensitize people about Conservation of Petroleum Products, educate public at large on ways to mitigate pollution levels and save resources by choosing to walk short distances.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest administered Saksham Pledge for Conservation of Petroleum Products & Protection of Environment and Flagged-Off the Saksham Fit India Walkathon.

जल एवं स्वच्छता सहायक संगठन व जन स्वास्थ्य अभियांत्रिकी विभाग द्वारा जल बचाओ साइकिल यात्रा सिरसा से नाथूसरी चौपटा के अनेकों गांवों में 188 किलोमीटर की दूरी तय करते हुए गांव चाहरवाला में संपन्न हुई। साइकिल यात्रा का नेतृत्व कर रहे बीआरसी हरि सिंह भिढासरा व डॉ. बलदेव राज की टीम ने किया।
उल्लेखनीय है कि इस जल बचाओ साइकिल यात्रा का शुभारंत गत 20 नवंबर को उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने स्थानीय लघु सचिवालय से हरी झंडी दिखाकर किया था। बीआरसी हरि सिंह भिढासरा व डॉ. बलदेव राज ने बताया कि पहले दिन साईकिल यात्रा सिरसा से विभिन्न गांवों से होते हुए गांव रुपावास, दूसरे दिन रुपावास से नाथूसरी चौपटा तथा तीसरे दिन 22 नवंबर को नाथूसरी कलां से चाहरवाला में सम्पन्न हुई। साईकिल यात्रा के माध्यम से 188 किलोमीटर का सफर तय किया और आमजन को जल के महत्व के बारे में जागरूक किया।
इस यात्रा के माध्यम से स्कूलों में स्कूल कैबिनेट व ग्रामीणों को ग्राम सभाओ समूह बैठकों के माध्यम संदेश दिया कि जल ही जीवन है अगर यूं ही हम जल को व्यर्थ बहाते रहे तो वह दिन दूर नहीं कि हम बूंद-बूंद को तरसेंगे। इसलिए हमें यथा संभव प्रयास करते हुए अमृत रूपी जल को बचाना है। विभिन्न उदाहरणों के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों व ग्रामीणों को भविष्य में जल संकट के दौरान आने वाली समस्याओं के प्रति सचेत किया गया। साथ ही लोगों को वर्षा जल संग्रह करने के लिए भी प्रेरित किया गया। उन्होंने बताया कि यदि हमें स्वस्थ रहना है तो हमारे पास केवल वर्षा जल के विकल्प के अलावा और कोई भी साधन नहीं है।
उन्होंने बताया कि यदि हम धरती माता की कोख से ऐसे ही पानी को निकालते रहेंगे तो धरती बंजर हो जाएगी। अब समय आ चुका है कि वर्षा जल संग्रह की आधुनिक तकनीकों को अपनाकर धरती मां की गोद में अधिक से अधिक मीठा पानी भरा जाए ताकि आने वाली नस्लों को शुद्ध व उचित मात्रा में पीने का पानी मिले तो दूषित पानी से होने वाली बीमारियों से अपने आप को बचाया जा सके जिससे सामाजिक व राष्ट्रीय विकास को भी बल मिलेगा। इस यात्रा मे पोस्टर व इश्तिहार के माध्यम से तथा स्कूलों में त्रिवेणी लगाकर पर्यावरण व जल संरक्षण का संदेश भी दिया गया। जल बचाओ साइकिल यात्रा में नितिन धनूर, सैंडी थिंद, कश्मीर सिंह, शेर सिंह, केहर सिंह, जगजीत सिंह, बबलू, विक्रम सिंह, गौरव कुमार शामिल थे।

एसडीएम डा. विनेश कुमार ने कहा कि नशा एक सामाजिक बुराई है और इस बुराई से लडऩे के लिए समाज के सभी लोगों को एकजुट होना होगा तभी हम इस अभिशाप को जड़ से खत्म कर सकते है। नशा शरीर के लिए जहां खतरनाक है, वहीं अपराध का भी मुख्य कारण है।
वे गुरूवार को चौटाला गांव के राजकीय वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय में नशा मुक्ति के लिए जागरूकता शिविर में बतौर मुख्य अतिथि संबोधित कर रहे थे। डा. विनेश ने कहा कि अनेक युवा नशे की गर्त में किसी कारणवश धंस जाते हैं और इस कारण से आपराधिक गतिविधियों में वृद्धि होती है। उन्होंने कहा कि नशा मुक्त व अपराधमुक्त समाज की स्थापना के लिए हम सभी को मिलकर कदम उठाने होंगे, तभी यह मुहिम सार्थक होगी। एसडीएम ने चौटाला थाना इचार्ज को निर्देश दिए कि मादक पदार्थ तस्करों के खिलाफ कड़ी कानूनी कार्रवाई करें। उन्होंने जागरूकता शिविर में आए हुए छात्र-छात्राओं को कहा कि वह घर-घर जाकर नशे के खिलाफ लोगों को जागरूक करें। उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों में नशे के खिलाफ जागरूकता पैदा करने तथा इस अभियान की शत-प्रतिशत सफलता के लिए जन सहयोग अति आवश्यक है।
कार्यक्रम की सराहना करते हुऐ एसडीएम ने जन प्रतिनिधियों, पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों, सामाजिक संगठनों से भी आह्वान किया कि वह इस अभियान को सफल बनाने में पूर्ण सहयोग करें। इस अवसर पर राजेंद्रा कालेज के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा नशा मुक्ति पर नुक्कड़ नाटक कर लोगों को जागरूक किया गया। इस मौके पर सिविल सर्जन सुरेश पंवार, तहसीलदार सुरेंद्र कुमार, एसएमओ डबवाली एमके भादू, एसएमओ चौटाला कुलविंदर कौर, शैलेन्द्र चौकी इंचार्ज, प्रिसिंपल राजेंद्र जाखड़, ग्राम संरपच, आगनवाड़ी वर्कर सहित विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारी मोजूद थे।

पंचकूला, 19 अक्तूबर- 21 अक्तूबर को होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव के दृष्टिगत किए जा रहे प्रबंधों का जायजा लेने के लिए जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त मुाकेश कुमार आहूजा ने चुनावी प्रक्रिया से संबंधित की जा रही तैयारियों का जायजा लेने के लिए सभी संबंधित स्थानों का दौरा किया तथा वहां पर मौजूद अधिकारियों से किए जा रहे प्रबंधों की जानकारी हासिल की।
उपायुक्त ने 24 अक्तूबर को होने वाली मतगणना के दृष्टिगत भी किए जा रहे प्रबंधों की जानकारी के लिए 01-कालका के सेक्टर 14 स्थित राजकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय में स्थापित मतगणना केन्द्र तथा 02-पंचकूला विधानसभा क्षेत्र की मतगणना के लिए सेक्टर 1 राजकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय में स्थापित केन्द्र पर जाकर संबंधित रिटर्निंग अधिकारियों से किए जा रहे प्रबंधों तथा चुनावी प्रक्रिया के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारी ली। इसके अलावा उपायुक्त ने चुनावी प्रक्रिया को सुचारू रूप से, शांतिपूर्ण, भयमुक्त तथा प्रलोभन मुक्त मतदान करवाने के लिए गठित विभिन्न टीमों के सदस्यों से मुलाकात कर हालातों का जायजा लिया। इसके साथ-साथ उन्होंने चुनावी डियूटी के लिए नियुक्त आॅब्जर्वरों व माईक्रो आॅब्जर्वरों से भी मुलाकात कर जायजा लिया।
जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि मतदान से 48 घंटे पहले चुनाव प्रचार बंद हो जाता है और इस दौरान चुनाव लड़ रहे राजनैतिक दल एवं उम्मीदवार किसी तरह की जनसभा, नुक्कड सभा और रोड़ शो इतयादि आयोजित नहीं कर सकते तथा न ही उसमें भाग ले सकते हैं। चुनाव प्रचार बंद हो जाने के बाद उम्मीदवारों द्वारा समाचार पत्रों में दिए जाने वाले विज्ञापन जिला स्तर पर गठित मीडिया सेर्टिफिकेशन एवं मॉनिटरिंग कमेटी से पास होने आवश्यक है। उन्होंने ने बताया कि प्रचार बंद होने के बाद 20 व 21 अक्तूबर को कोई उम्मीदवार अगर समाचार पत्र में विज्ञापन प्रकाशित करवाता है तो उसकी मंजूरी एमसीएमसी कमेटी से लेनी आवश्यक है।
उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा विधानसभा चुनाव के मध्यनजर विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए मतदान 21 अक्तूबर को प्रातरू 7 बजे से आरम्भ होगा जबकि मतगणना के लिए 24 अक्तूबर को प्रातः 8 बजे का समय चुनाव आयोग द्वारा निर्धारित किया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि पंचकूला व कालका के लिए दो अलग-अलग मतगणना केन्द्र स्थापित किए गए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि चुनाव से संबंधित किसी भी प्रकार की समस्या के लिए निर्वाचन आयोग के टोल फ्री नंबर 1950 पर संपर्क किया जा सकता है। इसके साथ ही 24 अक्तूबर को होने वाली मतगणना के दृष्टिगत जिला स्तर पर नियंत्रण कक्ष उपायुक्त कार्यालय में स्थापित किए गए हैं, जहां के दूरभाष नंबर 0172-2585000, 2568313 पर संपर्क करके मतगणना से संबंधित जानकारी प्राप्त की जा सकती है।

Chandigarh, September 23:- Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) along with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) and a team of India Smart City Fellows from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs have organised the first Public Bike Sharing live demonstration in Sector 17, here today.
Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional CEO, CSCL and Sh. N.P. Sharma, CGM, CSCL flagged off the public bike sharing service from plaza, sector 17, Chandigarh.
While sharing information, Sh. N.P. Sharma said that these GPS enabled ‘smart bikes’ have been rented out hourly anywhere in sector 17 for a nominal charge to residents who produce their ID proof and returned to any of 12 designated points by 7 pm.
City residents, students, cycling and fitness enthusiasts have took part in this demonstration event. The demo met with an enthusiastic response by citizens of all age groups who were extremely excited for the real launch of the bike sharing system in the city. Used by nearly 200 individuals of various incomes and occupations in the demo, the PBS promises to be a hit!
In the day long event, 11 points were identified in sector 17 (including Neelam Cinema, TDI Mall, Hotel Oyster, the Plaza, among others), while Sector 16 saw enthusiasts line up in front of Rose Garden to try out the stylish cycles. Interestingly, the points in front of ISBT (sector 17) saw humongous traffic, with some users reportedly cycling for more than three hours at a stretch. Feedback collected during the event will be used to design a more effective system in the city.
The demo was run according to the conditions laid down by CSCL for their proposed project, where cycles were provided for the subsidised cost of rupees 5 for thirty minutes. In the last few hours of the experiment, cycles were also provided free of cost to minors in the area.
Based on this popular reception, one can only expect the bike sharing project in Chandigarh to be a huge success.

Chandigarh, September 11:- A meeting of Primary Health committee of Municipal Corporation was held here today under the chairperson of Dr. Jyotsna Wig and attended by other members of committee namely Maj. Gen. M.S. Kandal, Mrs. Heera Negi, Smt. Asha Jaswal and other concerned officers of MCC.
During the meeting it was decided that repair work of all civil dispensaries be started immediately and one doctor deputed in general house meeting alongwith ambulance by Director Health, UT, Chandigarh. The committee further decided that the recruitment of doctors on contract basis for dispensaries be started for the smooth running of civil dispensaries. The members were of the view that sufficient manpower may be provided in each civil dispensary alongwith furniture items.

Chandigarh, August 6:- Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today dedicated open air gym-cum-gymnastic centre in a park at sector 48-A in presence of Sh. Davesh Moudgil, area councilor, representatives of RWAs and officers of MCC.
During the occasion, the Commissioner and area councilor also planted saplings of ornamental and medicinal trees in the park. The Commissioner addressed the gathering and said that it is equal responsibility of the local residents to maintain the beauty of the park by keeping the gym-cum-gymnastic centre and proper upkeep of the saplings planted.
Sh. Davesh Moudgil informed that a campaign has been launched today to plant saplings of different medicinal and ornamental plants in the ward at a cost of Rs. 20 lacs including plantation of trees including Golden Bottle Brush, Copper Bottle Brush, Ficus reiznold and Fox Tail palm etc.
He informed that the gym-cum-gymnastic centre has been provided at a cost of Rs. 3 lacs including latest equipments i.e. parallel bars, surf board (double), seated pedal trainer, space walker, riding trainer and wab board or abbs shaper etc.
