हरियाणा सरकार ने मुख्यमंत्री विवाह शगुन योजना के तहत गरीबी रेखा से नीचे जीवन यापन करने वाले अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति तथा टपरिवास समुदाय के परिवारों को लड़की के विवाह के अवसर पर कन्यादान के तौर पर अब 71 हजार रुपये की राशि दी जाएगी। योजना का लाभ लेने के लिए लाभार्थी को शादी से दो माह पूर्व आवेदन करना जरूरी है। चालू वित्त वर्ष में एक हजार 79 लाभार्थियों को तीन करोड़ 71 लाख 53 हजार की राशि दी जा चुकी है।
उपायुक्त अनीश यादव ने बताया कि ने बताया कि अनुसूचित जाति एवं पिछड़े वर्ग कल्याण विभाग द्वारा गरीब एवं जरूरतमंद लोगों के कल्याणार्थ विभिन्न योजनाएं एवं कार्यक्रम संचालित किए जा रहे हैं। विभाग द्वारा मुख्यमंत्री विवाह शगुन योजना के तहत अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति तथा टपरिवास समुदाय के लोग जो गरीबी रेखा से नीचे जीवन यापन करते हैं, उनकी लड़कियों की शादी के अवसर पर दी जाने वाली शगुन की राशि 71 हजार रुपये है। योजना के तहत शगुन के तौर 66 हजार रुपये की राशि शादी के अवसर पर या उससे पहले तथा 5 हजार रुपये की राशि शादी का रजिस्ट्रेशन प्रमाण पत्र जमा करवाने के उपरांत 6 महीने के भीतर दी जाती है।
जिला कल्याण अधिकारी सुशील शर्मा ने बताया कि इसी प्रकार मुख्यमंत्री विवाह शगुन योजना के तहत जिला के गरीबी रेखा से नीचे जीवन यापन करने वाले लोगों को मिलने वाली शगुन की राशि 31 हजार रुपये है। बीपीएल परिवारों की लड़कियों को उनकी शादी के अवसर पर या उससे पहले 28 हजार रुपये तथा 3 हजार रुपये की राशि शादी का पंजीकरण जमा कराने के उपरांत दी जाएगी। इसी प्रकार राज्य सरकार द्वारा अनुसूचित जाति और पिछड़ा वर्ग के उन परिवारों जिनकी सालाना आमदनी एक लाख 80 हजार से कम है उन्हे भी कन्यादान के तौर पर 31 हजार दिए जा रहें है। इस योजना के संदर्भ में अधिक जानकारी के लिए लघु सचिवालय स्थित जिला कल्याण अधिकारी कार्यालय में संपर्क किया जा सकता है।

प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा दी जाने वाली सेवाएं और सूचनाएं अब एक ही एप के माध्यम से मोबाइल पर ही प्राप्त की जा सकती है। इसके लिए प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा जन सहायक हेल्प मी एप शुरू किया हुआ है। उपायुक्त अनीश यादव ने बताया कि सरकार द्वारा शुरू की गई जन सहायक हेल्प मी एप के माध्यम से आम नागरिकों को सभी सरकारी सेवाएं और सूचनाएं मोबाइल फोन पर ही उपलब्ध होंगी। यह सेवाएं आप घर पर मौजूद रहते हुए ही एप के माध्यम से देख सकते हैं और योजनाओं का फायदा उठा सकते हैं। इसके लिए जिलावासी मोबाइल पर जनसहायक एप डाउनलोड कर सकते हैं। एप का इस्तेमाल करने के लिए मोबाइल नंबर या परिवार पहचान पत्र के द्वारा रजिस्ट्रेशन करवाना जरूरी है। उन्होंने बताया कि नागरिकों को विभाग अनुसार एवं सरल पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध सेवाओं की जानकारी जन सहायक एप पर मिलेगी।
उन्होंने बताया कि 112 आपातकालीन सेवाएं, 100 पुलिस, 108 एंबुलेंस, 101 अग्निशमन, 104 स्वास्थ्य, 1091 महिला हेल्पलाइन, 1098 बाल हेल्पलाइन, 1075 कोविड-19 हेल्पलाइन सहित अन्य सेवाओं के रूप में निविदाएं, बिल भुगतान, यात्रा, नौकरियां, खेल, आधारभूत संरचना व कौशल विकास और सरल सेवाएं, विभागवार सेवाएं, यूजर्स सेवाएं व जन शिकायत एवं आरटीआई आदि सभी प्रकार की सेवाएं व सूचनाएं जन सहायक एप पर उपलब्ध हैं। साथ ही एप पर नवीनतम समाचार, कैलेंडर एवं कार्यक्रम, सरकार की नवीनतम उपलब्धियां और घोषणाओं सहित सरकारी दूरभाष निर्देशिका भी मौजूद है, जिसका प्रयोग लोग अपने मोबाइल फोन के माध्यम से उठा सकते हैं।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि जन सहायक एप के माध्यम से सरकार द्वारा किसी विशेष जिला, आयु वर्ग आदि के नागरिकों को नोटिफिकेशन भेजी जा सकती है। जन सहायक एप पर रजिस्ट्रेशन करवाकर सरकार की कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का लाभ उठाया जा सकता है। इस जनसहायक एप के माध्यम से सरकार द्वारा दी जा रही सेवाओं पर नागरिक अपने सुझाव भी दे सकते हैं। साथ ही प्राप्त सुझावों का विश्लेषण कर विभागों की सेवा प्रदायगी को और उत्कृष्ट बनाया जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा जनसहायक एप की मदद से राज्य के नागरिकों को सूखा राशन वितरण, बना बनाया भोजन, डॉक्टर, पढ़ाई, कहीं पर आने-जाने के लिए पास, वित्तीय मदद, सिलेंडर, एम्बुलेंस सहित अन्य विभिन्न सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करवाने का विकल्प भी है। एप के माध्यम से किसी व्यक्ति द्वारा किसी भी सेवा के लिए अनुरोध किये जाने पर तुरंत संबंधित जिला के संबंधित अधिकारी को आवश्यक कार्रवाई के लिए भेज दिया जाता है। स्वयं सेवी संस्थाएं तथा समर्थ नागरिक एवं परिवार इस एप के माध्यम से पंजीकरण करवा कर जरूरतमंद लोगों को मदद पहुंचा सकते हैं। इस एप के माध्यम से घर से ही मोबाइल बैंकिंग एप के द्वारा नकदी की निकासी के लिए भी आवेदन किया जा सकता है।
उन्होंने बताया कि सभी इच्छुक नागरिक जो जनसहायक मोबाइल एप को डाउनलोड करना चाहते हैं वे गूगल प्ले स्टोर से एप को डाउनलोड कर लें। मोबाइल ऐप के इंस्टॉल होने के बाद एप को ओपन करके भाषा का चयन करें। इसके बाद 10 अंको का मोबाइल नंबर दर्ज करके बटन पर क्लिक कर दें। एक ओटीपी सत्यापन कोड प्राप्त होगा जिसके निर्धारित स्थान में दर्ज करके मोबाइल नंबर को सत्यापित कर ले। मोबाइल नंबर के सफलतापूर्वक सत्यापित होने के बाद एप के माध्यम से सेवाओं के लिए अनुरोध किया जा सकता है।

The Panjab University authorities have planned to hold the forthcoming odd semester December 2021 examinations in offline mode and started the preparation for the same, informed Dr Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examinations.
The practicals of undergraduate courses will be conducted between 17th to 21st December, 2021 and postgraduate courses will be conducted between 20th to 24th December, 2021. The theory exams of undergraduate courses will start w.e.f. 22nd December and postgraduate courses will start from 27th December, 2021.

Chandigarh, November 15:- Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh visited dumping site Dadumajra, here today. They were accompanied by concerned senior officers of MCC.
The visit was conducted in order to monitor and to take stock of the work progress in the dumping site and the mining of waste garbage processing plant. The Mayor and Commissioner reviewed the progress of the work and the contractor was instructed to speed up the work of the on site. Further, the sanitary landfill site was also visited and the Commissioner instructed the contractor to construct the boundary wall faster.
The chief engineer explained how legacy waste is of three categories i.e Construction and Demolition waste (C and D waste), Municipal Solid Waste and Industrial Waste used for refuse derived fuel (RDF) and fiber work. Through conveyor belts and other machines, separation and segregation become an easy task for processing the same.
Chandigarh, November 15:-Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh has laid the foundation stone of finishing work of community centre in sector 52, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MCC, Smt. Chanderawati Shukla, area councilor and other prominent persons of the area.
Spread over 2.13 acre of plot area, the finishing work of the community centre involves hall for gathering for 500 persons, bridal room, dormitory, caretaker office, sampark centre at ground floor, gym/indoor games, library hall, meeting room and office hall etc. at first floor besides providing parking facility for nearly 210 cars at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.30 crores.
In addition to that the Mayor also laid foundation stone of providing parking 80mm thick paver blocks over 4” thick vet mixed macadam and 6” thick GSB along green belt, village Kajehri, sector 52, Chandigarh having area 2241 square meter at an estimated cost of Rs. 31.48 lacs.
After laying the foundation stone for both the works, the Mayor and senior officers alongwith area councillor hold “Nigam Aapke Dwar” programme at civil dispensary, Sector 52, where local ward residents lauded the work done by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh recently.
The Mayor assured the local residents for better basic amenities and infrastructure in the area. He said that with the provision of Community centre having capacity of 500 persons in the hall, the local residents need not to go far from their houses to get their social functions organized.
The Mayor said that parking of vehicles along the green belt in village Kajaheri was a big problem earlier, now with the provision of proper parking space, local residents will get ease of parking over there.
Besides this, the Mayor inaugurated open air gym at a park in sector 22-B, Chandigarh and laid foundation stone of toilet block in Nehru park, Sector 22, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, November 15:-Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh today visited the construction site of Gaushala at Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh.
The Mayor and Commissioner took round of the construction site of gaushala and ABC center. The Commissioner instructed the concerned engineers to speed up the work to complete the project in stipulated time frame.
The work of three sheds including healthy cow shed, heifer shed and pregnant cow shed to accommodate nearly 1000 cows have been completed except brick on edge flooring and roof sheeting. the work of water supply, sewer work completed in existing sheds, except sump and storm work. The conduit pipe done in existing sheds and wiring work yet to be done at phase I of the gaushala.
The Commissioner instructed the chief engineer to complete the balance work at phase I including provision for electrical services, horticulture, pellet making machine and construction of vetnary hospital, sick animal shed, fodder shed, finishing of toilet blocks and labour huts. She further asked to prepare plans for developing phase 2 of the gaushala having 6.82 acre of plot area.

पंचकूला, 15 नवंबर- प्राथमिक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल के 60वें स्थापना दिवस परेड का आयोजन प्राथमिक प्रशिक्षण केन्द्रय के प्रागंण में आयोजित किया गया। श्री पी0 एस0 पापटा, महानिरीक्षक, भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल द्वारा परेड की सलामी ली गई तथा परेड में श्री राजेश शर्मा उप महानिरीक्षक प्राथमिक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, भी उपस्थित थे। तत्पश्चात बल के लिए उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने पर 05 पदाधिकारियों को प्रशस्ति पत्र एवं गोल्ड तथा सिल्वर डिस्क प्रदान किए गए।
महानिदेशक, भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल द्वारा इस केंद्र में तैनात श्री रविंद्र पूनिया, सहायक सेनानीध्जीडी को वर्ष 2019 में नक्सल प्रभावित क्षेत्र में नक्सलवादियों से मुठभेड़ के दौरान नक्सलियों को मार गिराने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने पर एवं श्री अक्षय आहूजा, सहायक सेनानी/जीडी को वर्ष 2020 में लद्दाख पैंगोंग टीएसओ झील के फिंगर एरिया में भारत चीन सीमा विवाद में भारतीय सुरक्षा बलों एवं चीनी सुरक्षा बलों के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ के दौरान सराहनीय कार्य करने पर पुलिस मेडल वित ळंससंदजतल (पीएमजी) से सम्मानित किया गया।

पंचकुला, 15 नवंबर- राष्ट्रीय कौशल विकास निगम द्वारा आयोजित, इंडिया स्किल्स 2021 क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिता-उत्तर, आज इंद्रधनुष सभागार, सेक्टर 5 पंचकुला में एक उद्घाटन समारोह के साथ शुरू हुई। यह प्रतियोगिता आठ राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों- चंडीगढ़, दिल्ली, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, जम्मू और कश्मीर, पंजाब, उत्तराखंड और उत्तर प्रदेश के 450 से अधिक प्रतिभागियों के प्रदर्शन की साक्षी बनेगी। इंडिया स्किल्स देश की सबसे बड़ी कौशल प्रतियोगिता है जो उत्कृष्टता के लिए प्रयास करती है, कुशल और प्रतिभाशाली युवाओं की खोज करती है, और उन्हें एक वैश्विक मंच के लिए तराशती है।

19 से 24 वर्ष की आयु के युवा प्रतिभागी, ऑटोबॉडी रिपेयर, ब्यूटी थेरेपी, पेंटिंग और डेकोरेटिंग, वेल्डिंग, मोबाइल रोबोटिक्स, पेटिसरी और कन्फेक्शनरी, स्वास्थ्य और सामाजिक देखभाल, प्लंबिंग और हीटिंग, वॉल और फ्लोर टाइलिंग, कंक्रीट निर्माण कार्य, साइबर सुरक्षा, कारपेन्टरी और अन्य सहित 45 से अधिक कौशल में प्रतिस्पर्धा करेंगे। कौशल प्रतियोगिताएं चंडीगढ़ (12), हिमाचल प्रदेश (1) और उत्तर प्रदेश (1) में 14 सहयोगी संस्थानों (पीआई) में आयोजित की जाएंगी।
इस प्रतियोगिता में कुल 458 प्रतिभागी हिस्सा ले रहे हैं, जिनमें चण्डीगढ़ से 68 प्रतिभागी, दिल्ली से 59, हरियाणा से 57, हिमाचल प्रदेश से 16, जम्मू और कश्मीर से 18, पंजाब से 88, उत्तराखण्ड से 35, उत्तरप्रदेश से 52 के अलावा वाइल्डकार्ड/नामांकन के 65 प्रतिभागी शामिल हैं।
प्रतियोगिताएं 16-17 नवंबर को आयोजित की जाएंगी, जिसके बाद 18 नवंबर को समापन समारोह में प्रत्येक कौशल में दो विजेताओं (एक स्वर्ण और एक रजत) को सम्मानित किया जाएगा।
इंडिया स्किल्स को देश में कौशल के उच्चतम मानक को प्रदर्शित करने और युवाओं के लिए व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण को आकांक्षी बनाने के लिए डिजाइन किया गया है। इंडिया स्किल्स 2021 उत्तर के विजेता अन्य क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं- पूर्व (पटना), पश्चिम (गांधीनगर) और दक्षिण (विशाखापत्तनम) के स्वर्ण और रजत पदक विजेताओं के साथ प्रतिस्पर्धा करेंगे। इसके बाद दिसंबर 2021 में बैंगलोर (कर्नाटक) में एक राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की जाएगी। इन प्रतियोगिताओं के अंतिम प्रतिभागियों को 2022 में वर्ल्डस्किल्स शंघाई, चीन में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने से पहले लगभग नौ महीने के कठिन प्रशिक्षण से गुजरना होगा।
इस अवसर पर संबोधित करते हुए पंजाब के राज्यपाल एवं केन्द्रीय शासित प्रदेश चण्डीगढ़ के प्रशासक श्री बनवारीलाल पुरोहित ने कहा कि ‘इंडिया स्किल्स केवल एक प्रतियोगिता नहीं है, यह एक अनूठा प्लेटफार्म है जो हमें देश के दूर-दराज के हिस्सों से युवा प्रतिभाओं को खोजने का अवसर प्रदान करता है, कौशल को आकांक्षी और युवाओं को सशक्त बनाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह प्रतियोगिता भारत की क्षमताओं को दुनिया के सामने प्रदर्शित करने में सक्षम बनाती है और उभरती प्रौद्योगिकियों और प्रगति को सीखने-समझने की सुविधा प्रदान करती है। यह द्विवार्षिक कार्यक्रम युवाओं, सरकारों, उद्योग निकायों, समुदायों, संस्थानों और शिक्षकों को एक प्रतिस्पर्धी प्लेटफार्म देकर आज की युवा प्रतिभाओं को कल की चुनौतियों के लिए तैयार करने में मदद करने के लिए एक साथ लाता है।
इस अवसर पर पंजाब के रोजगार सृजन, कौशल विकास और औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण विभाग के प्रमुख सचिव श्री दिलीप कुमार ने कहा कि मुझे विश्वास है कि इंडिया स्किल्स प्रतियोगिता युवाओं को कौशल के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने, उत्कृष्टता प्राप्त करने और विश्व स्तर पर भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने का अवसर तलाशने के लिए प्रेरित करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि कौशल प्रशिक्षण को वैश्विक प्रशिक्षण मानकों के साथ जोड़कर युवा उम्मीदवारों का समर्थन करने में हमारे उद्योग भागीदारों और प्रशिक्षकों द्वारा प्रदर्शित समर्पण का स्तर कौशल विकास के बेंचमार्क को बढ़ाएगा। इस तरह की प्रतियोगिताएँ सरकारों, उद्योग और शिक्षाविदों के बीच सहयोग की सुविधा भी प्रदान करती हैं।
चंडीगढ तकनीकी शिक्षा के सचिव श्री सरप्रीत सिंह गिल ने कहा कि “इंडिया स्किल्स 2021 में सात न्यू-एज स्किल्स की शुरूआत होना उत्साहजनक है क्योंकि यह दर्शाता है कि प्रतिस्पर्धा विशेष रूप से कोविड -19 महामारी के बीच और बाद में लगातार बदलती तकनीकों और जॉब मार्केट के अनुकूल है। भारत में एक युवा कार्यबल है और हमें इसे पर्याप्त अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए अपने स्किलिंग, रीस्किलिंग और अपस्किलिंग के प्रयासों को आगे बढ़ाना चाहिए जिससे इसे रोजगार योग्य बनाया जा सके और भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान मिल सके”।

अगस्त-सितंबर 2021 में जिला/क्लस्टर और राज्य स्तर पर आयोजित प्रतियोगिताओं के माध्यम से क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगितओं के लिए प्रतिभागियों का चयन किया गया है, जिसमें 250,000 से अधिक पंजीकरण दर्ज किए गए हैं। इस वर्ष, इंडियास्किल्स क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिताएं चार क्षेत्रों के 30 राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के 1,500 प्रतिभागियों को एक साथ लाएंगी। पटना और गांधीनगर ने इंडिया स्किल्स रीजनल के पूर्वी और पश्चिमी प्रतियोगिता को सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया। चंडीगढ़ इंडिया स्किल्स क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिता – उत्तर की मेजबानी के लिए तैयार है, और इसके बाद विशाखापत्तनम (दक्षिण) में क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिता आयोजित होगी। क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं के बाद, इंडियास्किल्स राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता दिसंबर 2021 में बेंगलुरु, कर्नाटक में आयोजित की जाएगी। इंडिया स्किल्स राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता के विजेता अक्टूबर 2022 में वर्ल्डस्किल्स शंघाई में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए प्रशिक्षण से गुजरेंगे।
इन प्रतियोगिताओं के दौरान, प्रतिभागियों को बूट कैंप और प्रोजेक्ट-आधारित प्रशिक्षण, उद्योग और कॉर्पोरेट प्रशिक्षण, उद्योगों के लिए एक्सपोजर विजिट, माइंड कोचिंग और व्यक्तित्व विकास जैसे कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से बहु-स्तरीय उद्योग प्रशिक्षण मिलता है। एनएसडीसी, अपने क्षेत्र कौशल परिषदों (एसएससी) और सहयोगी संस्थानों के माध्यम से, उम्मीदवारों को प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए और भविष्य के प्रयासों के लिए भी प्रशिक्षित करता है।
एनएसडीसी विश्व कौशल प्रतियोगिताओं में भारत की भागीदारी का नेतृत्व कर रहा है। वर्ल्ड स्किल्स, कौशल उत्कृष्टता के लिए स्वर्ण मानक, एक द्विवार्षिक कार्यक्रम है जिसमें 80 से अधिक देशों की भागीदारी दर्ज है। दुनिया भर के कुशल और प्रतिभाशाली युवा कई ट्रेडों में अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच पर प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हैं। 2019 में रूस के कज़ान में आयोजित वर्ल्डस्किल्स के पिछले संस्करण में, भारत वैश्विक आयोजन में भाग लेने वाले 63 देशों में से 13 वें स्थान पर था। इसमें 1,350 से अधिक उम्मीदवारों ने 56 कौशल में भाग लिया, और टीम इंडिया ने चार पदक-एक स्वर्ण, एक रजत, दो कांस्य पदक के साथ-साथ 15 उत्कृष्टता पदक जीतकर अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन दिया।

Chandigarh 15 November, 2021: In order to create awareness on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD), a team of Doctors from Alchemist-Ojas Hospitals Panchkula shared various facts and myths regarding diseases related with lungs. Throughout the world millions of people are affected by COPD Diseases emphysema, chronic bronchitis, refractory (non-reversible) asthma, and some forms of bronchiectasis. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is an umbrella term used to describe progressive lung diseases. This disease is characterized by increasing breathlessness.
Shedding light on the ailment Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and its treatments, Dr. Sunny Virdi, Consultant AlchemistOjas Hospital Panchkula said,“COPD 2nd Largest killer after Heart Problems & Cancer worldwide and India has become COPD Capital of World. Many peoplemistake their increased breathlessness and coughing as a normal part of aging. In the early stages of the disease, you may not notice the symptoms. COPD can develop for years without noticeable shortness of breath. You begin to see the symptoms in the more developed stages of the disease. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive form of lung disease ranging from mild to severe. It is characterized by a restriction of airflow into and out of the lungs that makes breathing difficult. “
Sharing his experience Dr Vishal Sharma Consultant Pulmonology, Alchemist Hospital Panchkula said “COPD most often occurs in people 40 years of age and older who have a history of smoking. These may be individuals who are current or former smokers. Not everybody but most of the individuals who have COPD (about 90% of them) have smoked. COPD can also occur in those who have had long-term contact with harmful lung irritants in the workplace like chemicals, dust, or fumes, organic cooking fuel, may also cause COPD. Even if an individual has never smoked or been exposed to pollutants for an extended period of time, they can still develop COPD. ‘COPD prevalence is around 5.5 to 7.55% in Indian. ’ Recent studies suggest prevalence rate of COPD in males is as high as 22% in men and 19% in females.
On this occasion Dr Sunny Virdi also said “Many sufferers have trouble walking short distances and are especially susceptible to illness and pneumonia. Often, sufferers need oxygen support 24 hours per day. If you show signs of emphysema or chronic bronchitis you may have COPD. The long-term effects of COPD result in an enlargement of the right side of the heart and eventual death.” There is no permanent cure for COPD, but treatment options are available to prevent more damage and improve quality of life.’’
Dr Sunny Virdi further added, ‘’Also, as the temperature drops, people having COPD are more prone to illness. The symptom becomes more aggravated during colder weather. The effects of cold weather on the lungs can be extreme and chronic exposure to cold environments is known to cause dramatic changes to the respiratory system. If a COPD patient develops COVID , it really life threatening.
The lungs provide oxygen to the bloodstream and the heart pumps blood, delivering oxygen to various parts throughout the body. With an onset of low to extreme temperatures blood vessels begin to narrow, restricting blood flow and depriving the heart of oxygen. The heart is forced to pump harder, which ultimately increases blood pressure. In mild winters particularly, the largest strain on the respiratory system can be found, leading to a higher rate of cold-related mortality among the elderly. That’s why it is important that you talk to your doctor as soon as you notice any of these symptoms. Ask your doctor about taking a spirometry (Pulmonary Function Test) test. ‘’
‘’Early screening can identify COPD before major loss of lung function occurs. Most cases of COPD are caused by inhaling pollutants; that includes smoking (cigarettes, pipes, cigars, etc.), and second-hand smoke. Fumes, chemicals and dust found in many work environments are contributing factors for many individuals who develop COPD.

कोरोना वैक्सीनेशन अभियान के तहत जिला रेडक्रॉस सोसायटी द्वारा स्वास्थ्य विभाग के सहयोग से 20 नवंबर (शनिवार) को स्थानीय शहीद भगत सिंह स्टेडियम में ड्राइव-इन टीकाकरण शिविर का आयोजन किया जाएगा।
जिला रेडक्रॉस सोसायटी के सचिव लाल बहादुर बैनीवाल ने बताया कि उपायुक्त अनीश यादव के निर्देशानुसार स्वास्थ्य विभाग के सहयोग से वैक्सीनेशन के शत प्रतिशत लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने की कड़ी में 20 नवंबर को दो चरणों में प्रात: 9.30 बजे से साढ़े 12.30 बजे तथा शाम को 03.00 बजे से 05.30 बजे तक लगाया जाएगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि जिला में कोरोना से बचाव के लिए जगह-जगह पर कैंप लगाकर लोगों का टीकाकरण किया जा रहा है। शिविर में कोविड-19 नियमों का पालन की जाएगी। शिविर में दो प्रकार की वैक्सीनेशन कोविशील्ड व कोवैक्सिन उपलब्ध रहेगी। कोरोना संक्रमण से बचाव के लिए वैक्सीनेशन लगवाना जरूरी है, इसलिए अधिक से अधिक नागरिक उक्त शिविर में पहुंचकर वैक्सीनेशन का लाभ उठाएं।
