MCC honours Sanitation workers on “Safai Mitra Amrut Samman Samaroh”

Chandigarh, October 2:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today honoured door to door waste collectors and other sanitation workers of MCC on the occasion of “Safai Mitra Amrut Samman Samaroh” under the banner 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav mega celebrations, organized at Tagore Theater, Sector 18, Chandigarh here today.

Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh was the chief guest during the programme. Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MCC, Sh. Sujoy Choudhury, Executive Director & State Head, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Sh. Sh. Mahesh Inder Siddhu, Senior Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Farmila, Deputy Mayor, Sh. Sanjay Tandon, other councilors and officers of MCC were also present during the programme.

While addressing the sanitation workers, the Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation is celebrating 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav from 28th September, 2021 and this programme is also a part of the one week mega celebrations.

Remembering Mahatma Gandhi, on the occasion of “Gandhi Jayanti”, the Mayor said that the campaign for cleanliness continuously gave energy to the Nation’s freedom movement and it is a greate tribute by us to Mahatma Gandhi. The cleanliness movement has once again connected the country to the dream of a new India, he added.

He said that the sanitation workers are our cleaning army, which supports the system framed by the MCC for solid waste collection and handling. He said that segregation of waste is technically mandatory in Chandigarh, but not all households follow through. That makes the efforts of the door to door waste collectors much more important; segregate the waste that they collect into their recyclables-paper, plastics, metals, and glass or wet waste, which is taken for composting.

While speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that in addition to that the Municipal Corporation facilitated sanitation workers deployed at toilet blocks throughout city and sewermen of public health circle by organizing area level facilitation programmes.

She said that sanitation worker’s safety is necessary for the sanitation workers and the Municipal Corporation is fully equipped with modern resources in order to protect its sanitation staff.

The Mayor and Commissioner also honoured all the teams for performing during the week long mega event of 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav besides honouring its brand ambassador Sh. Kala Ram, sanitation worker.

A Play was also staged by the artists of Parmpara group under the theme “Waste Segregation”, which dipcited the real picture of source segregation and awareness to segregate the waste separately i.e. wet waste and dry waste in different dustbins for its scientific disposal.

In addition to that a live painting workshop was also organized in the compound area of Tagore Theater under the theme sanitation and Mahatma Gandhi, which was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest and visitors.

पंचकूला, 2 अक्तूबर- राजकीय औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान, कालका स्थित बिटना में पहले चरण की दाखिला प्रक्रिया शुरू हो गई है, जिसके लिये 4 अक्तूबर तक आवेदन किये जा सकते हैं।
इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए राजकीय औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती सोनिका तक्षक ने बताया कि संस्थान में चल रहे तकनीकी व गैर तकनीकी 19 व्यवसायों हेतु  विभाग की वेबसाईट पर आवेदन किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने बताया कि आवेदन करते समय प्रार्थी को अपने सभी मूल प्रमाण पत्र ही अपलोड करने होंगे। इसके साथ-साथ प्रार्थी संस्थान आकर में आकर भी अपना आवेदन कर सकता है। दाखिले हेतु संस्थान में हेल्प डेस्क स्थापित किया गया है, जहां पर शनिवार को भी प्रार्थी द्वारा संपर्क किया जा सकता है।

उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले वर्ष की भांति इस वर्ष भी डयूल सिस्टम के तहत दाखिले किए जायेंगे। इस सिस्टम में प्रशिक्षणार्थी संस्थानों के साथ-साथ औद्योगिक इकाईयों में भी प्रशिक्षण लेंगे। इसके अलावा महिलाओं के तकनीकी व्यवसायों में दाखिला लेने पर 500 रूपए मासिक मानदेय दिया जायेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि संस्थान में आने-जाने के लिए कालका व पंचकूला बस स्टैंड से बसों का विशेष प्रबंध है, जिसमें महिलाओं के लिए बस पास की निःशुल्क सुविधा उपलब्ध है।

पंचकूला, 2 अक्तूबर-   महात्मा गांधी जी की जयंती के अवसर पर आज नगर निगम के महापौर कुलभूषण गोयल ने राजकीय कन्या वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक  स्कूल सेक्टर-15 में स्वच्छता अभियान के तहत स्कूल की सफाई कर स्वच्छता अभियान के कार्य को आगे बढ़ाया। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ नगर निगम के पार्षद हरेंद्र मलिक, जय कोशिक और भाजपा की प्रदेश प्रवक्ता रंजिता मेहता भी उपस्थित थी।


इससे पूर्व श्री गोयल ने  महात्मा गांधी की जयंती के अवसर पर उनकी प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी। उन्होंने नगर निगम के सफाई कर्मियों व पार्षदों के सहयोग से पूरे स्कूल की सफाई की।
श्री गोयल ने कहा कि स्वच्छता अभियान जिले में 31 अक्तूबर तक चलाया जायेगा। इस अभियान के तहत जिला के ग्रामीण व शहरी क्षेत्र को कचरा, प्लोग रन प्लैज व प्लास्टिक फ्री किया जायेगा।


इस अवसर पर स्कूल की प्राचार्या श्रीमती कमलेश चैहान ने स्कूल के बच्चों, एनसीसी कैडेट और स्कूल के अध्यापकों को स्वच्छता अभियान की शपथ दिलाई।एनसीसी कैडेटेस ने महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की व स्कूल की साफ सफाई कर रैली के माध्यम से स्वच्छता अभियान का संदेश दिया व लोगों को स्वच्छता अभियान के बारे में जागरूक किया।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त अनीश यादव ने आदेश दिए हैं कि ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा उप चुनाव के मद्देनजर सभी लाइसेंस धारक अपने हथियार अपने नजदीकी पुलिस थानों में अथवा मंजूरशुदा आर्म डीलर के पास 15 अक्तूबर तक जमा करवाए। निर्धारित तिथि के उपरांत यदि किसी भी व्यक्ति के पास अवैध तौर पर हथियार पाया जाता है तो उस संबंधित व्यक्ति के खिलाफ नियमानुसार सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

उल्लेखनीय है कि आगामी 30 अक्तूबर को ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा उपचुनाव के मद्देनजर रखते हुए जिलाधीश एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी अनीश यादव ने भारतीय दंड प्रक्रिया नियमावली 1973 के अंतर्गत प्रदत: शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए जिला सिरसा में शांति एवं कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए धारा 144 लागू की है। इस दौरान कोई भी व्यक्ति अपने साथ अग्रिय शस्त्र व अन्य प्रकार के हथियार लेकर चलने पर पूर्णतया पाबंदी रहेगी। ये आदेश पुलिस विभाग व अन्य सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र में कार्य कर रहे सरकारी अधिकारियों / कर्मचारियों पर जो अपनी ड्यूटी पर तैनात है उन पर लागू नहीं होंगे। आदेशों के उल्लंघनकर्ता भारतीय दंड संहिता 1860 की धारा 188 के अनुसार दंड के भागीदार होंगे।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त अनीश यादव ने कहा कि ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा क्षेत्र में सभी सैक्टर ऑफिसर अपने अधीन मतदान केंद्रों का तुरंत निरीक्षण करें और मूलभूत व्यवस्थाओं जैसे बिजली, पीने का पानी, शौचालय, फर्नीचर, रैंप आदि व्यवस्थाओं का जायजा लें। अगर किसी बूथ पर कोई कमी पाई जाती है तो उसकी रिपोर्ट तुरंत भेजें ताकि उस कमी को समय रहते दुरुस्त करवाया जा सके। इसके अलावा पुलिस विभाग से तालमेल स्थापित कर क्षेत्र के सभी वल्नरेबल बूथ की भी मैपिंग करें और ताकि मतदान के समय सभी प्रकार की सुरक्षा इंतजाम पुख्ता किए जा सके।


वे शनिवार को स्थानीय लघु सचिवालय के बैठक कक्ष में ऐलनाबाद विधानसभा उप चुनाव के मद्देनजर जोनल व सैक्टर ऑफिसर की बैठक को संबोधित कर रहे थे। बैठक में नगराधीश गौरव गुप्ता, तहसीलदार चुनाव हनुमानदास सहित सभी जोनल व सैक्टर ऑफिसर उपस्थित थे।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि ऐलनाबाद उप चुनाव की मतदान प्रक्रिया को शांतिपूर्ण व निष्पक्ष ढंग से सम्पन्न करवाने के लिए 12 जोनल मजिस्ट्रेट व 22 सैक्टर ऑफिसर नियुक्त किए गए हैं। इनके अलावा तीन ड्यूटी मजिस्ट्रेट व चार सैक्टर ऑफिसर की रिजर्व में भी ड्यूटी लगाई गई है। उन्होंने सभी अधिकारियों से कहा कि पहले भी आप सभी ने चुनाव में ड्यूटियां दी है और सफलता पूर्वक सम्पन्न करवाएं हैं। इसलिए अपने पिछले अनुभव के आधार पर पूरी गंभीरता से चुनाव प्रक्रिया को सम्पन्न करवाएं। मतदान केंद्रों की मैपिंग व सभी रिपोर्ट रविवार को तैयार करके भिजवाएं ताकि मतदान प्रक्रिया के समय किसी प्रकार की समस्या का सामना न करना पड़े। उन्होंने कहा कि वल्नरेबल बूथ की मैपिंग के लिए पुलिस विभाग व संबंधित बीएलओ का सहयोग लें। उन्होंने सभी जोनल मजिस्ट्रेट को निर्देश दिए कि सैक्टर ऑफिसर के कार्य की मॉनिटरिंग करें और किसी भी प्रकार की समस्या आने पर उनका सहयोग किया जाए।

MCC signs Tripartite Agreement for Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0

Chandigarh, October 1:- In order to achieve the aspiration of urban transformation, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the commitment, roles and responsibilities has been signed digitally between the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Chandigarh Administration and Centre Government today. This agreement will help in making further progress in sanitation and water sector for Chandigarh-the city beautiful.

Hon’ble Prime Minister has launched Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0 (SM-U 2.0) and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) on 1st October, 2021. SBM(U) and AMRUT have contributed significantly to improve urban landscape during last few years and this flagship mission has been successfully implemented in Chandigarh, along with other cities in India, by augmenting the capacities to deliver basic services of water supply to the citizens.

While sharing this development, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh said that Chandigarh has been declared as Open Defection Free (ODF ++) and about 20,000 new water and sewer connections have been provided under AMRUT in Chandigarh.

She said that SBM-U2.0 and AMRUT 2.0 represents a landmark moment to redefine the Urban landscape of the country by achieving the vision of safe sanitation in urban areas and providing 100% coverage of water supply to all households.

The Commissioner further said that it is a step towards making city Garbage free through focus on source segregation of solid waste, utilizing principles of 3 R (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle), scientific processing of all types of municipal solid waste and remediation of legacy dumps. Further making the city water secure by effecting water source conservation, rejuvenation of water bodies and wells, recycle/ reuse of treated used water and rain water harvesting by involving community at large, thus a step towards Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.

Mayor and councilors hails the services under ICCC project

Chandigarh, October 1:- The celebration of grand event of 75th anniversary of our freedom as “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” continues on Friday with the demonstration of various services to the councilors of MCC, Media representatives, students of different schools and citizens at the Command and control centre, MCC building, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh was the chief guest during the demonstration programme which was attended by councilors of MCC including Sh. Mahesh Inder Siddhu, Senior Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Farmila, Deputy Mayor and officers of BEL and MCC.

During the programme, the team of experts demonstrated Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) platform and smart field solutions such as intelligent traffic management system (ITMS), Adaptive Traffic control system (ATCS), CCTS surveillance equipped with artificial intelligence based video analytics etc.

The Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. team demonstrated the ICCC platform to the Mayor and councillors with integrated traffic control system, e-challan system, live monitoring by surveillance cameras etc. The demonstration was given in three batches, where first batch was for Councilors, the second batch was for media representatives and the third batch was of students and general citizens.

While speaking on the occasion, Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India far evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to take India up to new heights.

Chandigarh, October 1:- Waste disposal is a huge challenge for every citizen, but Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has found a special use for some of its waste material- it has transformed them into work of art.

Celebrating the 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has organized an one day waste to art exhibition cum live workshop under the banner “Apshist Kala Pradrshni” to honour various artists working in the transformation of waste items into best art. Artists from different NGOs, organizations and individuals gathered in Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh today to showcase their talent and transformation of waste into best out of waste.

Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest during the exhibition cum workshop. He appreciated the works of artists for their wonderful exhibits which are being miraculously made out of household waste.

He said that art, which is not only a delight for the eyes but also sends out a strong social message, is the need of the hour. This Waste to Art exhibition cum live workshop would create awareness on various environmental issues also. The initiative is also going to boost socio-cultural art in the city and would encourage young artists to come up with new ideas.
