In the Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh including the faculty members, non-teaching staff, Research Scholars (M.Phil, Ph.d, PDF) and students of M. A Ist and 2nd year assembled to celebrate a week-long celebration of the 150 Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Nation.
Dr. Seema Malhotra gave a speech pledged an Oath on Cleanliness to the gathering presented in the department. The cleanliness Drive rally was flagged off by our Chief Guest Dr. Tirthankar Bhattacharya, Chairperson of the Deptt. of Arts History and Visual Arts, PU, Chandigarh. A cleanliness drive rally was started off from the department and marched towards the route of Arts Block II, IV, Law Department, Boys Hostel 4 & 5, Zoology, Anthropology, Physics, Chemistry, Administrative Block, VC Office, Boys Hostel 3 & 2 and turned towards Gandhi Bhawan, PU. Chandigarh.
The students, faculty and non-teaching staff of the department raised various slogans related to cleanliness and environment such as “Green Campus, Clean Campus, My Dream Campus; Hum Sab Ka Ek Hi Narra, Saff Suthara Ho Desh Hamara; Prakriti ka na Karein haran ao bachaein Parivaran”.
Dr. Ashu Pasricha, Chairperson thanked everybody for their participation in the cleanliness drive and said that the main motive behind this drive was to spread the message of awareness towards the cleanliness.

सारे ही प्रभु भक्तों ने प्रभु का आर्शीवाद प्राप्त किया। यज्ञ दौरान अपने विचार रखते हुए संस्थान के संस्थापक एवं संचालक श्री आशुतोष महाराज जी के शिष्य स्वामी गुरूकृपानन्द जी ने कहा कि यज्ञ प्रतीकात्मक है ब्रहम अगनी का जो ब्रहमज्ञान द्वारा प्रगट होती है। जब एक इंसान पूर्ण गुरू से ब्रहमज्ञान की प्राप्ति करता है व साधना करता है तो यह ब्रहम अगनी उस साधक के शरीर के भीतर प्रचंड रूप में प्रगट होती है जो उसके जन्म जन्म के कर्म संस्कारों को जला कर राख कर देती है। जिस द्वारा मनुष्य का मन शांत एवं प्रभु भक्ति की तरफ प्रेरित होता है। इसलिए आज के इस अशांत समाज को शांत करने के लिए ब्रहमज्ञान की अति आवश्यकता है, और ऐसा दिव्य ज्ञान समय के पूर्ण संत ही प्रदान कर सकते है।

A one week faculty training school, on “Hands-on Training and Advancements in Chromatography” from September 23 to 28, 2019 was inaugurated today at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University Campus, for pharma faculty participants across the country under the initiative of UGC Networking Resource Centre (NRC).
A total of 20 participants have been selected for training, hailing from various Colleges/Universities, representing 10 different states of India. The training school started today i.e. September 23, 2019 in the Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall of Panjab University Campus, with an aim to provide insights and hands-on training on sophisticated chromatographic techniques.
Professor Kanwaljit Chopra, Programme Coordinator of the training school welcomed the participants and briefed them about the accomplishments of UGC-NRC programmes. Professor Anil Kumar, Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, apprised the participants about the achievements of UIPS and infrastructure available at the Institute. Professor Maninder Karan, Course Coordinator, summarized about the course content to the participants and Dr Jai Malik, Joint Course Coordinator conducted the proceedings of the event.
The function was inaugurated by Dr G. N. Singh, Director, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Ghaziabad, and Drugs Controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDCSO), who was the Chief Guest and delivered the Key Note Address on “Role of Separation Technologies in Setting Pharmacopoeia Standards.”
Subsequent session started with a lecture on the Fundamentals of Chromatography by the Course Coordinator, Professor Maninder Karan. The post-lunch session covered Hands-on Chromatographic Techniques (TLC, PTLC, Chromatotron) by the Coordinators.
UIPS is the first and the only Pharmacy Institute in the country selected by MHRD for creating UGC Networking Resource Centre to promote and foster research and academics in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences by training young pharma trainers, selected across the nation.

राजधानी दिल्ली में इन दिनों प्याज के दाम 80 रूपये किलो तक पहुंच गए हैं। जिसे देखते हुए सरकार अब इसकी बढ़ती हुई कीमतों पर लगाम लगाने की तैयारी में जुट गई है।
प्याज की कीमते पिछले 15 दिनों मे जिस तरह से बढ़ी हैं उससे आम आदमी को प्याज काटने से ज्यादा खरीदने में आंसू आ रहे हैं।
सरकार प्याज की कालाबाजारी रोकने के लिए व्यापारियों पर जल्द ही शिकंजा कसेगी जिसके तहत प्याज की भंडारण सीमा तय की जाएगी।
सीमा तय होने के बाद कारोबारी तय कोटे से ज्यादा प्याज का भंडारण नहीं कर सकेंगे, और बाजार में प्याज की आपूर्ति बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी और कीमतों पर रोक लगेगी।
मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक अगर जल्द ही प्याज के दाम नीचे नहीं आए तो सरकार ये ऐलान कर सकती है।
जानकारों का मानना है कि मानसून के दौरान प्याज उत्पादक क्षेत्रों में भारी बारिस के कारण आपूर्ति और पैदावार दोनों प्रभावित रहे हैं जिसके चलते प्याज की खुदरा कीमते 70-80 तक पहुंच गई हैं।
उपभोक्ता मंत्रालय के आधिकारिक आकड़ो के अनुसार पिछले सप्ताह दिल्ली में प्याज की खुदरा कीमत 57 रूपये किलो थी जिसमें कि महज 7 दिनों में 20 से 30 रूपये का इजाफा हो गया है।

हरियाणा विधानसभा आम चुनाव के मद्देनजर उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने स्थानीय पंचायत भवन में चुनाव कार्यांे के लिए नियुक्त नोडल अधिकारियों की बैठक ली।
अधिकारी चुनाव ड्यूटियों में कौताही न बरतें : उपायुक्त
उपायुक्त ने कहा कि अधिकारी चुनाव से संबंधित ड्यूटियों का निर्वहन पूरी ईमानदारी व निष्ठïा से करें। उन्होंने कहा कि सभी अधिकारी अपने-अपने कार्यालयों में किसी प्रकार की प्रचार सामग्री न रखें और न ही किसी भी पार्टी को चस्पा करने दें और सरकारी भवनों में राजनीतिक गतिविधियां न हो। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी प्रकार की राजनीतिक कार्यक्रमों में भाग न लें। उन्होंने जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी को निर्देश दिए कि स्कूलों व महाविद्यालयों की दीवारों पर किसी भी पार्टी की प्रचार सामग्री लगी है तो उसे साफ करवाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि कोई भी अधिकारी या कर्मचारी आदर्श आचार संहिता के दौरान राजनीतिक गतिविधियों में भाग नहीं ले सकता। यदि ऐसा पाया जाता है तो उसके विरुद्घ कार्यवाही की जाएगी।
बिना अनुमति के कोई भी अधिकारी या कर्मचारी मुख्यालय न छोड़ें
चुनाव के दौरान कोई भी अधिकारी व कर्मचारी मुख्यालय नहीं छोड़ेगा और अपना मोबाईल ऑन रखेगा। उन्होंने सभी विभागाध्यक्षों को निर्देश दिए कि प्रतिदिन दो से तीन बार ई-मेल व एसएमएस मैसेज चैक करें ताकि ड्यूटियों के बारे में जानकारी रहे। उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि अपने-अपने विभाग के कम्प्यूटर, लेपटोप, फोटो स्टेट, गाडिय़ां आदि चालु हालत में रखे। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी प्रकार का नया विकासशील कार्यों शुरु न करें और पुराने चल रहे कार्यों को जारी रखें। उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि विकासात्मक कार्यों की सूचि आज ही उपायुक्त कार्यालय भेजें। उन्होंने बिजली निगम के अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि खंबों पर किसी भी प्रकार की प्रचार सामग्री न लगने दें। उन्होंने नोडल अधिकारियों से कहा कि जल्द से जल्द कर्मचारियों की ईवीएम ट्रनिंग का कार्य पूरा करें।
उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि चुनाव आयोग द्वारा जारी हिदायतों को गहनता से पढ़ें ताकि मौके पर किसी प्रकार की कोई समस्या न आए। उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि सभी अधिकारी दी गई जिम्मेवारी को ईमानदारी से पूरा करें, इस कार्य में किसी भी प्रकार की कौताही सहन नहीं की जाएगी। उपायुक्त ने कहा कि यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण कार्य है, अधिकारी इस कार्य को बोझ न समझे बल्कि खुशी से करें।

Former HRD Minister Dr. Murli manohar joshi presided over the seminar on the topic of ‘The global issues concerning Environment, water & their potential solutions’ť organized by The Panchnad Shodh Sansthan in association with The Environment department PU, & Environment department, Chandigarh Administration.
Dr Joshi emphasized on the fact that mooting for sustainable development is not possible unless we shift our focus to Sustainable Consumption. He said that he has been saying this for past 30 years that each individual as well as the country on a whole should limit its consumption.
He further commented that resources on our planet are finite hence Infinite growth on a finite planet is not possible. We are already seeing its consequences in the form of fire engulfing Amazon, Glaciers melting faster than ever before resulting in increased sea levels. On Global warming, he said that due to increase in average temperatures across the world, we are witnessing many disturbing patterns such as untimely floods, droughts and even desertification of soil in many places.
Further appearing on the second day of the seminar where he answered the queries of the participants, Mr Joshi said that Mankind should tap the nature but not exploit it. He equated the relation between mankind and nature to that of a Mother son relation thereby suggesting that we should limit our intake and reduce our consumption. He said that human race should move forward in harmony with nature.
On GDP, Mr Joshi said that the very concept of measuring growth on the scale of GDP is a sham. He said that how can we say that an increase in GDP implies increased growth when it doesn’t include the main societal indicators such as education, Health indices.
He further said that in his opinion rate of increase of GDP is directly proportional to the rate of decay of natural resources because it ultimately puts the pressure to produce more and more. Also the countries having higher GDP rates are the ones suffering from increased levels of crime, drug addiction and depression issues.
Therefore we must focus on Global Happiness index & not on GDP. He even gave the example of Bhutan which has totally discarded the GDP farce and is rather focusing on GHI.
Mr Joshi also questioned the Western Countries model of development and quoted a senior economist who once said that the civilized human being has been turned into a dirty pig by this mad race for development.
He said that our Indian Civilization has got all the answers to modern day problems. We must focus on low cost indigenous technology base on low energy, low capital model. He again reiterated that we should not imitate the westerners, rather we shall focus on our strengths and build upon them.
He said that India can become a world leader by adhering to its cultural and vedic values as well as moving ahead in the field of technology advancements simultaneously.
Other dignitaries present on the stage were ex lokayukta justice Pritampal singh, Vice Chancellor PU Dr.Rajkumar, Executive President Panchnad Shodh Sansthan Dr.K.S.Arya, Director PSS Professor B.K.KUuthiyala, HOD Enviornment PU Dr.Suman Mor. आम आदमी पार्टी के पंचकूला विधानसभा से उम्मीदवार योगेश्वर शर्मा का कहना है कि वह और उनकी पार्टी यह चुनाव स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा, बेरोजगारी, बिजली, पानी, किसानों व जवानों इत्यादि के मुद्दों को लेकर लड़ेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारी पार्टी ने जिस तरह से भारी रुकावटों के बावजूद दिल्ली में पिछले करीब पांच सालों में अभूतपूर्व काम करके दिखाये हैं, उसी प्रकार हरियाणा में भी करने की बात करके प्रदेश की जनता से वोट मांगेगी।
उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी पार्टी इस चुनाव में पूरे दमखम से लड़ेगी तथा जनता के बीच भाजपा द्वारा पिछले चुनावों के दौरान किये गये वायदों को लेकर जाएगी तथा इनसे पूछेगी कि इन्होंने पिछले पांच सालों में इनमें से कितने वायदे पूरे किये हैं?पंचकूला विधानसभा से अपनी टिकट की घोषणा होने के बाद आज यहां अपने आवास पर पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए आम आदमी पार्टी के अंबाला लोकसभा एवं जिला पंचकूला के अध्यक्ष योगेश्वर शर्मा ने कहा कि भारतीय जनता पार्टी की सरकार और उसके पंचकूला से विधायक ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता पिछले करीब साढ़े चार साल तक तो कुंभकरण की नींद सोते रहे।
तब उस दौरान उन्हें यह भी याद नहीं आया कि उन्होंने व उनकी पार्टी ने पंचकूला व हरियाणा की जनता से कुछ वायदे भी कर रखे हैं। मगर अब जब उन्हें लगा कि चुनाव की घोषणा किसी भी वक्त हो सकती है तो उन्हें पंचकूला व प्रदेेश के लोगों की याद हो आई। इसके बाद उन्होंने शिलान्यासों का सिलसिला शुरु कर दिया। योगेश्वर शर्मा ने कहा कि यदि यही काम सही समय पर शुरु किया होता तो अब तक लोगों को इसका लाभ भी मिल रहा होता।
उन्होंने कहा कि साल 2014 में चुनावों में भाजपा ने प्रदेश के लोगों को रोजगार देने, किसानों को स्वामीनाथन की रिपोर्ट का लाभ देने,महंगाई कम करने, भ्रष्टाचार खत्म करने, उच्च शिक्षा के लिए नये आयाम देने, स्वास्थ्य में सुधार करने जैसी अनेकों बातें कही थीं। मगर सत्ता में आते ही वे ये सब भूल गये।

अंत में, साध्वी जी ने बताया कि आज दिव्य ज्योति जाग्रति संस्थान में सर्व श्री आशुतोष महाराज जी द्वारा ब्रह्मज्ञान प्राप्त कर असंख्य लोगों ने परीक्षित की ही तरह मुक्ति के मार्ग को पाया है। इस प्रकार संस्थान आज विश्व शांति, बंधुत्व व एकता की स्थापना की ओर बढ़ रहा है। संस्थान व आयोजकों की ओर से भागवत महापुराण ज्ञान यज्ञ सप्ताह के आयोजन व उसमें भारी संख्या में समिलित होने के लिए क्षेत्रवासियों का धन्यवाद करते हुए भागवताचार्या महामनस्विनी साध्वी कालिंदी भारती जी ने कहा कि क्षेत्र निवासियों का यह सहयोग चिरस्मरणीय रहेगा। संस्थान सभी को ब्रह्मज्ञान प्राप्ति हेतु आमंत्रित करता है व भविष्य में ऐसे ही सहयोग की अभिलाषा करता है।
