It is a moment of great pride for Panjab University that the student of its affiliated college, PGGCG 42, Chandigarh Ms. Harnaaz Sandhu, an actor/model has been crowned Miss Universe 2021 beating contestants from 79 countries to bring home the title after 21 years.

– सब नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे फ़ॉर पोलियो अभियान के दूसरे दिन कुल 16,926 बच्चों को पिलाई गयी पोलियो की दवा- उपायुक्त

पंचकूला जून 28- उपायुक्त विनय प्रताप सिंह  ने बताया कि जिले में सब नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे फ़ॉर पोलियो अभियान के दूसरे दिन आज कुल 16,926 बच्चों को पोलियो की दवा पिलाई गयी।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि जिन्हें आज पोलियो की दवा पिलाई गई उनमे 10,842 बच्चे ग्रामीण  क्षेत्र व 6,084 बच्चे शहरी क्षेत्र में रहने वाले है। उन्होंने बताया  29 जून तक चलने वाले सब नेशनल इम्यूनाइजेशन डे फ़ॉर पोलियो अभियान के तहत अधिक रिस्क वाले क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले 0-5 वर्ष के 20,519 बच्चों को पोलियो की दवा पिलाई जानी है।

उन्होंने बताया कि जिला में 542 हाई रिस्क वाले स्थानों की पहचान की गई है, जिसमें कंस्ट्रक्शन साइट्स, ईंट के भट्ठे, पोल्ट्री फार्म, इंदिरा कॉलोनी, राजीव कॉलोनी इत्यादि शामिल है। जहां पर 0 से 5 वर्ष के बच्चों को पाॅलियों की खुराक दी जा रही है।

उन्होंने बताया कि इस कार्य के लिए स्वास्थ्य विभाग की  332 सदस्यों की टीम कार्य कर रही है। इसके अलावा 26 मोबाइल टीम भी बनाई गई है। साथ ही विभाग के कोल्ड चैन पॉइंट्स पर भी फिक्स्ड बूथ की व्यवस्था की गई वहां भी पोलियो की खुराक पिलाई जा रही है।

Chandigarh, June 28: – A meeting of Apni Mandi and Day Market Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today under the chairpersonship of Smt. Chanderawati Shukla, councillor and attended other members of committee namely Smt. Sunita Dhawan, Sh. Jagtar Singh, Sh. Gurpreet Singh Dhillon and Sh. Rajesh Kumar and Sh. Ajay Kumar Garg, Executive Engineer, Roads Division-1 along with other officials of MCC.

          The committee decided that details of Day Market sites alongwith deployed SDE concerned shall be circulated amongst the committee members.

It has been apprised by the member secretary that digitalisation of the day market has been introduced by Smart City for online payment of day market fee for which POS machine is to be issued to the concerned SDE and JE. All the SDE/JE have been directed to collect the POS machines from CAO office at the earliest for the online payment of day market fee.

          The matter regarding starting of day market sites through contractors or licensee by draw of lots was discussed in the meeting but the same was deferred due to Covid-19 Pandemic. The day market will run through departments till further orders.

          The committee members told that committee will inspect any day market site in the presence of SDE/JE concerned alongwith Enforcement Inspector concerned for proper supervision.

          The committee members asked all the SDE and concerned staff to ensure proper cleanliness of each day market site.

4th Online Meeting Bazm-e-Adab at PU

Department of Urdu and Sanskrit, Panjab University jointly organized  4th online meeting of “Bazm-e-Adab” today.

            Dr Ali Abbas, Coordinator described Ladakh region has a lofty life-line of language, linguistic, literature and literary Criticism. He said that the human society as a whole world always remain indebted to the Ladakh region lying in the lap of might Himalaya from where originated the never ending stream of language, linguistic, literature and literary Criticism.

            Prof. V.K Alankar, Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit said that the area comprising of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh had made more than 80% of the contribution for the development of Sanskrit language, linguistic and literature. Language and literature connect various culture with each other, he added.

            Mr. Mohd Shareef, a research scholar in the department of Urdu in his research paper on the development of Urdu short stories in the Ladakh area, highlighted various aspect of the Ladakhi culture depicted in the short stories. The main feature of these short stories is the absence of DOWRY which is a social stigma in other part of our country. Rich tribute was paid to eminent Urdu scholar  Prof.Shamim Hanafi.

  1. सभी धार्मिक, राजनैतिक एवं सामाजिक आयोजनों तथा विवाह आदि में 200 लोगों से ज्यादा शामिल नहीं हो सकेंगे।
  2. बस, टेम्पो आदि में क्षमता के 50 प्रतिशत यात्री ही सफर कर सकेंगे।
  3. सभी कोचिंग, स्वीमिंग पूल, स्पा पूर्णतः बंद रहेंगे।
  4. सिनेमा हाॅल, रेस्टोरेंट, जिम में क्षमता के 50 प्रतिशत व्यक्ति ही एक बार में प्रवेश कर सकेंगे।
  5. उत्तराखंड में रात्रि 10.30 बजे से सुबह 5 बजे तक नाइट कफ्र्यू रहेगा। इस बीच में लोगों की आवाजाही पूर्णतः बंद रहेगी। इस दौरान फैक्ट्रियों से काम कर लौट रहे, मालवाहक वाहनों में माल उतारने-चढ़ाने वाले, बसों/ट्रेनों आदि से अपने घर जाने वाले, शादी समारोह में जाने वाले लोगों को छूट रहेगी।

IGNOU holds 34th Convocation through Virtual Mode on 15th April, 2021

Owing to the rapid surge in COVID-19 cases, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) hosted its 34th Convocation virtually on 15th April, 2021 (Thursday) at 11 AM. The University awarded degrees, diplomas, and certificates to more than 235,000 successful students in the Convocation. In this Convocation discipline wise Gold Medal were also awarded. Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) presented the Annual Report of the University. In his address he emphasized that IGNOU continuously provided support services to its learners during pandemic through online mode and also started online programmes. He also stated that due to the quality students support services provided by IGNOU to its learners throughout the country IGNOU was recently awarded A++ Grade by NAAC.

students of Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Other Professional Courses including
USOL/Private have appeared today on Day 11 of online examination being conducted by
Panjab University. He informed that total exams in Slot 1 and Slot 2 were 78 and 53
respectively. He further informed that all the exams conducted today went off
smoothly.
