The Department of Biophysics, Panjab University organized a Virtual Alumni Meet, on the occasion of the Global Alumni Meet-2021 of Panjab University, Chandigarh. Over 90 alumni, joined the event from different parts of the world. The main highlight of the event was the warm and emotional address by founder chairperson of the Department of Biophysics, Professor S. R. Bawa. He shared his journey, memories and challenges throughout, which not only motivated the students of the department, but also took everyone on the journey to the memory lanes of the past. Department felicitated Professor G.S. Gupta for his contributions in the development of Department.

            Dr Ajaib Singh, was facilitated as a distinguished alumnus who has achieved a lot outside university. The feeling of nostalgia kicked in during the virtual tour of their alma mater through a video and pictures of best days of their lives. All the alumni from all walks of life shared their stories during interactive session and actively participated in the cultural program. The energy and enthusiasm of alumni was so infectious that it surpassed the boundaries of virtual world. People cried, laughed and shared their wonderful experiences at the end, with a promise to return to their alma mater.

NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY AT GIRLS HOSTEL No. 8, PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH

Girls Hostel no.8 and NSS, Panjab University, Chandigarh has marked the National Girl Child Day with the children of construction workers at its premises. These children were given an opportunity to showcase their talent through drawing. The children made different drawings on various themes like environment, health, pollution and Republic Day.

Smt. Simran Kaur, Warden, Girls hostel no 8 and coordinator of the event said that “this program was organized to bring the feeling of equality among all, irrespective of any class or status”. She also said that the state of Punjab has dedicated the whole month of January 2021 to the Girl Child.

The occasion was graced by Prof S K Tomar and Prof Sukhbir Kaur,  DSW, (male and female respectively) along with the wardens namely Harjit Kaur, Anju Goyal, Manisha Sharma, Archana and Vishal Sharma.

Prof S K Tomar, Dean Student Welfare(DSW), interacted with the children and got overwhelmed by the responses given by them. He appericiated the efforts made the Hostel Warden and NSS to make it happen in this winter. Prof Sukhbir Kaur, DSW ( girls) also interacted with the few mothers who accompanied their young children. She congratulated the whole team of hostel staff and NSS.

Sh. Gaurav Gaur,  NSS Programme Officer shared that all these children were handed over the health kits which included a toothbrush,  toothpaste, soap, cold cream and a comb. He also thanked everyone and gave special Appreciation for the five  students Ramandeep, Navjot, Sonia, Shubham and Narendra for coordinating the event so well. These students reinforced the practice of hand washing and maintaining personal hygiene with these children.

पंचकूला  24 जनवरी। 72 वें गणतंत्र दिवस की अंतिम तैयारियों के दौरान राजकीय वरिष्ठ कन्या माध्यमिक विद्यालय सेक्टर 15, पंचकूला की छात्राओं के द्वारा गणतंत्र दिवस कार्यक्रम की रिहर्सल के दौरान योगा के छात्रों द्वारा प्रस्तुत सूर्यनमस्कार  प्रस्तुति मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद्र रही। विद्यालय की  छात्रा  काजल व मुस्कान के द्वारा ध्वजासन, नटराजासन, कौनडीनीयान आसन, कमर मरोड़ आसन, हैंड स्टैंड आसन, भुजंगासन पर्वतासन, नटराजासन, शलभासन धनुरासन और प्रियंकासन की स्तब्ध कर देने वाली प्रस्तुति थी। इसके अलावा योगा में विभिन्न विद्यालयों के 92 विद्यार्थियों के द्वारा सूर्य नमस्कार की प्रस्तुति दी गई। विद्यालय के मीडिया प्रभारी जयवीर सिंह व जिला योगा के प्रभारी व अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर योग में ख्याति प्राप्त डॉ शमशेर सिंह ने बताया कि इन छात्रों ने बहुत ही कम समय में ज्यादा मेहनत करके अच्छी प्रस्तुति दी है जोकि अत्यंत सराहनीय रही।

अंतिम पूर्वाभ्यास कार्यक्रम में राजकीय कन्या वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय, सेक्टर 15, पंचकूला के कुलदीप सिंह, वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय, कोट प्रवीण कुमारी,  माध्यमिक विद्यालय ,सेक्टर 21, पंचकूला पूनम, उच्च विद्यालय, जलऔली से विपुल शर्मा सभी योगा प्रभारियों सभी योगा प्रतिभागी विद्यार्थियों का आभार जताया। इसके अलावा विद्यालय की गणतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष में कार्यक्रम की अंतिम रिहर्सल   के दौरान सैक्टर 15 की 35 छात्राओं ने कालबेलिया राजस्थानी डांस की प्रस्तुति ने उपस्थित सभी को रोमांचित कर दिया। कार्यक्रम में कठपुतली शो और पूरी तरह से राजस्थानी संस्कृति में सराबोर सभी छात्राओं ने आकर्षक प्रस्तुति दी। विद्यालय की संगीत प्राध्यापिका कुसुम और नवतेंद्र कौर ने इस कार्यक्रम के लिए अथक मेहनत की है। इसके अलावा राजकीय वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय सैक्टर 6 की छात्राओं की पड़ौसी राज्य पंजाब की शान गिद्वा की प्रस्तुति भी बेहद शानदार रही ओर सैक्टर 19 की विद्यार्थियों ने हरियाणवी संस्कृति से ओतप्रोत गीत प्रस्तुत की।

The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised Alumni Meet in virtual mode. Prof. I. V. Malhan, former Dean Academics, Central University of Himachal Pradesh and alumnus of the department was the chief Guest and Mr. V. K. Grover, former Deputy Librarian was the guest of honour. The department hounered two eminent alumni, Prof. R. L. Raina, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur and Prof. Jagtar Singh, Former Dean Faculty, Education and Information Science, Punjabi University, Patiala for their contribution. In the second session, the memories and experiences were shared by the members. Mr. Sushil Jain, Alumnus of the first batch (1960) of department also shared his memories and experiences. Faculty Training School under UGC Networking Programme concludes at UIPS, PU

The one-week long Training School under UGC Networking Resource Centre in Pharmaceutical Sciences on the theme “Training Pharmacy Professionals to Accomplish Mission – Make in India: Step Forth to Promote Academic Entrepreneurship” conducted by University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, from January 18 to 23, 2021 successfully concluded today virtually via Cisco WebEx Events.

During the Programme, a group of 31 faculty and research scholars from 12 states of the country was trained. A total of 19 lectures and 5 sessions were conducted by 25 eminent speakers‎ from various academic institutions, industries, CEOS, MDs of start-ups, innovation officers and ambassadors and research organizations with expertise in diverse disciplines of of pharmaceutical sciences, together with the in-house faculty of UIPS.

During the valedictory programme, Dr Manish Diwan, Head, Strategic Planning and Entrepreneurship Development, BIRAC, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest and delivered the valedictory lecture on “Biosciences to Bioeconomy”. He emphasized on Nurturing innovations from ideation to commercialization. He gave an insight into the ample number of grants available to the faculty and students with innovative ideas. He also motivated all the participants to take up entrepreneurship.

Earlier, Professor Indu Pal Kaur, Chairperson, UIPS & Programme Coordinator, UGC-NRC, delivered the welcome address. Professor Ranju Bansal, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, welcomed the august gathering. Professor O. P. Katare, Course Coordinator, briefed about the antecedents of the weeklong course. A special Colloquium on “Creating a culture of Innovation– the people aspect” by Ms Veena Swarup, Former Director HR, Engineers India Ltd, and Chairperson, NOWE@DMA (Network of Women Entrepreneurs) was the main highlight of the week. In her talk, she exquisitely explained the treasure of human resource in any Institute. She quoted “Best way to predict your future is to create it” and emphasized that we should value and appreciate all employees or any human resource involved in the working of academic or industrial set-up. All the participants enjoyed her illustrious talk.

Around 200 faculty, students and selected faculty participants enthusiastically attended the weeklong events.

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि इस अवसर पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में जिला के अन्य अधिकारी भी वर्चुअल तौर पर जुड़े रहेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि मतदाता दिवस जिला स्तर से लेकर मतदान केंद्र स्तर तक मनाया जाएगा जिसमें मतदाताओं को उनके संवैधानिक अधिकारों के प्रति जागरूक किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि कोविड-19 के चलते भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के निर्देशन में राज्य में फोटोयुक्त मतदाता सूचियों का दो बार विशेष संक्षिप्त पुनर्निरीक्षण किया गया।

 
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा मतदाताओं को जागरूक करने के लिए ‘सभी मतदाता बनें सशक्त, सतर्क, सुरक्षित एवं जागरूक’ विषय पर सेमीनार किए जाएंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि इस मतदाता दिवस पर मतदाताओं को दो चरणों में ई-एपिक की सुविधा प्रदान की जाएगी। पहला चरण 25 जनवरी से 31 जनवरी तक होगा जिसमें यूनिक मोबाइलयुक्त नए बने मतदाता शामिल होंगे। दूसरे चरण में यह सुविधा सभी पंजीकृत मतदाताओं के लिए उपलब्ध हो जाएगी।

पंचकूला  23 जनवरी।    उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि पंचकूला के किसानांे को वर्ष 2020-21 में कृषि एंव किसान कल्याण विभाग, हरियाणा द्वारा ‘‘सब मिषन आॅन एग्रीकल्चर मेकेनैजिम समेम स्कीम के अंतर्गत किसानों को विभिन्न कृषि यन्त्रों एवं मषीनें  पर 40ः से 50ः अनुदान पर उपलब्ध करवाई जाएगी। इस स्कीम के अंतर्गत पंचकूला जिलें में व्यकितगत किसान श्रेणी में सामान्य, लघु एवं सीमांत,  अनुसूचित जाति के लिए विभिन्न कृषि यन्त्रों के लिए 31 जनवरी तक आॅनलाईन आवेदन कर सकते  है।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि किसानों को स्ट्रा बेलर, हेेरेक, श्रब मास्टर , रोटरे स्लेसर,  पीटीओ आॅपरेटिड वीडर, ट्रैक्टर आॅपरेटिड क्राॅप रीपर कम बांइडर, लेजर लेण्ड लेवलर, स्ट्रा रीपर, ट्रैक्टर माउंटिड स्पेयर पम्प, रीपर बांईडर, मल्टी क्राॅप प्लांटर, मेज प्लांटर, न्यूमेटिक प्लांटर, कोटन सीडस ड्रिल, ट्रैक्टर आॅपरेटिड बूम स्पे्रयर दिए जाएगें।  आवेदन के लिए किसान के नाम पंचकूला जिलें में रजिस्टर्ड टैªक्टर की वैध आर0सी0, किसान के नाम जमीन व उसकी पटवारी रिपोर्ट, किसान का बैंक, आधार कार्ड और पैन कार्ड की आवष्यकता है। इसके अलावा मेरा फसल मेरा ब्यौरा पर भी रजिस्ट्रेषन करवाना भी अनिवार्य है। आॅनलाईन आवेदन करने के बाद चयन होने के उपरान्त यदि किसी भी प्रकार की त्रुटी पायी जाती है तो आवेदन रदद् हो जायेगा।

उपायुक्त ने बताया कि आॅनलाईन आवेदन करते समय जमीन, जाति(श्रेणी), अकाउंट डिटेल व अन्य जानकारी ध्यानपूर्वक भरंे। एक किसान लाभार्थी अधिकतम 3 विभिन्न प्रकार के कृषि यंत्र के लिए आवेदन कर सकता है। लक्ष्यों से अधिक आवेदन प्राप्त होने पर लाभार्थियों का चयन ड्रा के माध्यम से किया जायेगा। जिन किसानों ने पिछले 4 सालों में इन कृषि यंत्रों पर अनुदान लिया है, वे किसान इस स्किम में उसी यंत्र पर आवेदन करने के लिए पात्र नहीं होंगे।


उपायुक्त ने बताया कि किसान इस पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध सूचीबद्ध निर्माताओं में से अपनी पसंद के निर्माता से मषीन खरीद सकते हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त 2.5 लाख रूपये से कम कीमत के कृषि यंत्रों के लिए आवेदन करने पर 2500/- तथा 2.5 लाख रूपये से अधिक तक कीमत के कृषि यंत्रों के लिए 5000/- आवेदन ष्का षुल्क जमा करवाना अनिवार्य है जो चयन उपरांत वापिस कर दिया जायेगा। यंत्रों की अधिक जानकारी के लिए अपने जिले के कृषि विभाग के उप निदेषक/सहायक कृषि अभियन्ता, पंचकूला या विभाग के कंट्रोल रूम 18001802117, 0172-2521900 पर किसी भी कार्य दिवस को सुबह 09 बजे से सांय 05 बजे तक संपर्क कर सकते हैं।
