UIFT’S Third Alumni Lecture on International Fashion Runway

Third lecture series ‘Learn the ropes with alumni’ was held today at UIFT &VD with Divya Bhagat. She pursued her graduation and post-graduation in Fashion and Lifestyle Technology from UIFT, Panjab University. After doing her Masters from UIFT, she did a course on Fashion Styling from London School of Trents. She worked as a Fashion Merchandiser in the Garment Industry and is now a Fashion Design Faculty with INIFD Chandigarh.  Around 80 students joined her webinar. She spoke about “International Fashion Runway” to the current students of the department.

Divya Bhagat, shared her journey with the students, what they should keep in mind and practice while they are pursuing their course.She motivated them to learn with in-depth study on fabrics, silhouettes, design, pattern and the making of garments. She also laid importance of doing regular internships so that the academic and practical aspect polishes the learner and makes him/her ready for this apparel/garment /fashion industry. She talked about opportunities that she got at UIFT when she back staged many fashion shows. She also shared her experiences working on different websites, working as a merchandiser and how she learnt about various fabrics and their drapes.

Divya gave an insight about the backend working of International fashion runway shows. She shared her experiences of being a part of London Fashion Week for 3 years, while explaining how international fashion designers work and elaborated the difference between working with national and international designers. Laying importance on Sustainability, she also elaborated how students can do a lot of DIY projects in upcycling of old clothes encouraging them to adapt sustainable fashion design practices. Later  she discussed the importance of social media in the upcoming fashion market.According to Divya “Being focused, working hard towards the goal and knowing the latest are important for a fashion design learner to be successful”.

Dr Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson UIFT & VD welcomed and appreciated Divya for her achievements, sincere efforts and dedication towards her work as a merchandiser, designer and Faculty of Fashion.

Her talk inspired and motivated many students to think about different fields of Fashion Industry that they can take up as a career. Participants found the session  very interesting, informative and had their queries answered from the speaker.

पंचकूला, 11 मई- 14 मई को अक्षय तृतीय (अक्खा तीज) के अवसर पर बाल विवाह को रोकने के लिये मंदिर के पुजारी, गांव के मौजूद व्यक्ति, आंगनवाॅडी वर्कर, नंबरदार और नगर पार्षदों से अपील की जाती है कि वे अपने गांव व क्षेत्रों से इस दिन आयोजित होने वाले बाल विवाह समारोह के दौरान लड़का व लड़की की आयु की जांच करें और उनके बालिक होने की जांच करें।


जिला महिला एवं संरक्षण एवं बाल निषेध अधिकारी श्रीमती सोनिया सबरवाल ने बताया कि बाल विवाह हमारे समाज में फैली एक कुप्रथा है। बाल विवाह करने वालों के खिलाफ बाल विवाह निषेध अधिनियम 2006 के तहत अगर लड़के की आयु 21 वर्ष और लड़की की आयु 18 वर्ष से कम पाई जाती है तो यह एक गैर जमानती अपराध है। बाल विवाह में शामिल होने वाले और बाल विवाह करने वालों के खिलाफ 2 साल की जेल तथा कानून द्वारा एक लाख रुपये की सजा का प्रावधान है।

श्री मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि राज्य सरकार द्वारा अवैध काॅलोनियों में मूलभूत सुविधाओं की कमी की जानकारी जुटाने के लिये एक नया वेब पोर्टल शुरू किया गया है। इस वेब पोर्टल की शुरूआत मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल द्वारा चंडीगढ से की गई थी ताकि रेजिडेंस वेल्फेयर एसोसिएशन और स्थानीय बिल्डर या काॅलोनाईजर अपनी काॅलोनिज में मूलभूत सुविधायें जैसे बिजली, पानी, सड़क, सीवरलाईन आदि कमी की जानकारी सांझा कर सके।


  उन्होंने बताया कि यह जानकारी सरकार को न केवल पाॅलिसी निर्णय लेने के लिये सहायता करेंगी बल्कि अवैध काॅलोनियों में मूलभूत सुविधायें प्रदान करने में भी उपयोगी सिद्ध होगी।

पंचकूला, 10 मई- आज विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता ने संत निरंकारी मिशन की ओर से पंचकूला के सेक्टर-9 स्थित संत निरंकारी संत्संग भवन में कोविड-19 महामारी से ग्रस्त मरीजों के इलाज के लिये आॅक्सीजन कंस्ट्रेटर सहित 50 बैड के कोविड-19 ट्रीटमेंट सेंटर इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर का रिबन काटकर शुभारंभ किया। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ पंचकूला के उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा व मेयर कुलभूषण गोयल मौजूद थे। उन्होंने कहा कि पंचकूला में बढ़ते हुये कोरोना मरीजों को इस ट्रीटमेंट सेंटर से पूरा सहयोग मिलेगा और उनका डाॅक्टरों की टीम की अगुवाई में अच्छा इलाज हो सकेगा।


श्री गुप्ता ने बताया कि कोविड-19 ट्रीटमेंट सेंटर में हर बैड के साथ आॅक्सीजन कंस्ट्रेटर होने से मरीज को आॅक्सीजन सिलेंडर की जरूरत नहीं रहती है। ये कंस्ट्रेटर ही एक मरीज के लिये आॅक्सीजन बनाने के लिये काफी होता हैं। कोविड-19 के मरीज को ये मशीन आॅक्सीजन बनाकर सप्लाई करती है, जिससे रोगी की आॅक्सीजन की कमी पूरी हो जाती है और रोगी का जीवन बच जाता है।


विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता ने बताया कि कोविड-19 ट्रीटमेंट सेंटर मिशन द्वारा तीनों समय के भोजन की व्यवस्था, बिजली की निर्बाध सप्लाई तथा मिशन द्वारा भेजा गया समान उपलब्ध करवाया जायेगा परंतु मैडिकल सुविधा, डाॅक्टर, नर्सें व पैरा मैडिकल सुविधायें सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाई जायेंगी। इस सेंटर में मिशन के द्वारा की जा रही सेवाओं में सरकार के कोविड-19 के दिशा निर्देशों का पूरा पालन किया जा रहा है।


विधानसभा अध्यक्ष गुप्ता ने मिशन की ओर से की गई इस पहल के लिये सतगुरु माता सुदीक्षा महाराज का ह्दय से धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने कहा कि संत निरंकारी मिशन ने पूरे हरियाणा में कोविड-19 मरीजों की मदद के लिये अस्पताल बनाने की इच्छा जताई है। इस कड़ी में पंचकूला में इस मिशन द्वारा ये पहला अस्पताल है। कल करनाल में संत निरंकारी भवन में कोविड-19 के मरीजों की मदद के लिये आॅक्सीजन कंस्ट्रेटर सहित 50 बैड का एक अस्पताल बनाने जा रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि कई एनजीओ ने कोविड-19 के मरीजों की मदद के लिये इच्छा जताई हैं, जिनमें से एक एनजीओ ने दो आॅक्सीजन कंस्ट्रेटर दान स्वरूप भेंट किये है।


उन्होंने कहा कि संत निरंकारी मिशन द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष रक्तदान शिविर व स्वच्छता अभियान भी चलाया जाता है जोकि मानवता की सेवा के लिये सराहनीय कार्य है। इसके अलावा भारत के सभी सतसंग भवनों को कोविड वैक्सीनेशन सेंटर बनाने का प्रस्ताव भारत सरकार को दिया गया था, जिसकी मंजूरी के उपरांत भारत के सेकड़ों निरंकारी सतसंग भवनों को कोविड-19 के टीकाकरण सेंटरों में परिवर्तित हो चुके है। साथ ही साथ संत निरंकारी मिशन के कई सतसंग भवन काफी समय से क्वारटाईन सेंटर के रूप में संबंधित प्रशासनों को उपलब्ध करवाये गये है।

पंचकूला 9 मई: उपायुक्त श्री मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने जनहित में और कोविड -19 की वर्तमान स्थिति को ध्यान में रखते हुए, ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर्स की रिफिलिंग के लिए सचिव, रेड क्रॉस, सेक्टर -15, पंचकुला की सहायता के लिए अधिकारियों की टीम का गठन किया है।


        श्री आहूजा ने कहा कि लोगों को डोर-टू-डोर ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर रिफिल सुविधा उपलब्ध करवाई जाएगी। इसके लिए रोगी या उनके परिवार के सदस्यों को पोर्टल http://oxygenhry.in पर ऑनलाइन आवेदन करना होगा।
 
        उन्होंने कहा कि अधिकारियों की टीम में श्री अनिल कुमार, टीजीटी इंग्लिश, गवर्नमेंट मिडिल स्कूल, सेक्टर -25, पंचकूला और श्री दीपक यादव, वोकेशनल टीचर, श्री सुधीर कुमार, पीजीटी इकोनॉमिक्स, श्री दिनेश, पीजीटी हिंदी और श्री जसबीर, ओएसस प्रशिक्षक, गवर्नमेंट गर्ल्स सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल, सेक्टर -15, पंचकूला शामिल हैं। सिटी मजिस्ट्रेट, सिमरनजीत कौर, सचिव, रेड क्रॉस के साथ बेहतर समन्वय स्थापित करने के लिए इस टीम की निगरानी करेंगी।

       श्री आहूजा ने कहा कि ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर की रिफिलिंग की दरें भी तय कर दी गई है। वर्तमान में, O2 सिलेंडर टाइप-बी रोगियों को उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। एक O2 सिलेंडर टाइप-बी की कीमत 185 रुपये प्लस 12 प्रतिशत जीएसटी होगी। बाद में लिक्विड ऑक्सीजन 17.50 रुपये प्रति एम 3, प्लस 12 प्रतिशत जीएसटी के साथ और O2 सिलेंडर टाइप-डी 325 रुपये और 12 प्रतिशत जीएसटी के साथ जरूरतमंद मरीजों को उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। इसके अलावा, परिवहन के मद्देनजर 50 रुपये का शुल्क भी लिया जाएगा।

        उन्होंने कहा कि मरीजों को ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर की जरूरत है या नहीं, यह पता लगाने के लिए, उक्त अधिकारियों की टीम टेलीफोन से सिविल सर्जन, पंचकूला द्वारा उपलब्ध कराए गए संपर्क नंबरों की सूची के आधार पर होम आइसोलेशन में मरीजों से संपर्क करेगी और साथ ही संबंधित सैक्टर्स के लिए नियुक्त किये गए डाक्टर्स से फीडबैक भी लेगी। इसके बाद, रेडक्रास सोसायटी के स्वयंसेवकों या गैर सरकारी संगठनों (एनओजी) के प्रतिनिधियों द्वारा ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर की डिलीवरी रोगी को की जाएगी।

श्री आहूजा ने कहा है कि संकट के इस समय में, साथ मिलकर काम करने की सख्त जरूरत है ताकि यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि सभी आवश्यक वस्तुओं की आपूर्ति लोगों को उनके घर पर उपलब्ध हो। उन्होंने कहा कि घरों में आइसोलेट कोविड रोगियों के अलावा, अन्य बीमारियों से ग्रस्त लोग भी हैं जिन्हें लगातार ऑक्सीजन की आवश्यकता होती है। डोर-टू-डोर ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर रिफिल सुविधा की शुरुआत होने से , ऐसे रोगियों को काफी हद तक लाभ होगा क्योंकि रोगियों या उनके परिजनो को सिलेंडर रिफिल करने के लिए लंबी कतार में इंतजार करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है । इसके अलावा, यह ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर की कालाबाजारी पर भी अंकुश लगाएगा।

उन्होंने कहा कि ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर रिफिल की सुविधा का लाभ उठाने के लिए पोर्टल http://oxygenhry.in पर ऑनलाइन आवेदन किया जा सकता है। आवेदन करते समय, आवेदक को अपने ऑक्सीजन स्तर के लिए ऑक्सीमीटर की फोटो और अपना आधार कार्ड नंबर भी अपलोड करना होगा। इसके अलावा मरीज की उम्र और घर के पते का उल्लेख करना भी अनिवार्य है। उन्होंने कहा कि रेडक्रॉस सोसाइटी के स्वयंसेवकों द्वारा डोर-टू-डोर ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडर रिफिल की सेवा प्रदान की जाएगी। इसके अलावा, जिला प्रशासन ने इस उद्देश्य के लिए एनजीओस (NGOs) को भी शामिल किया है।

COE Office of PU Instructions for B.Ed 1st Semester

In view of the Curfew / Lockdown imposed in some cities of Punjab due to COVID-19, the students appearing in the Online Examinations of B.Ed 1st Semester w.e.f. 11th May 2021 and Clash / Medical Cases of UG / PG Courses 1st Semester w.e.f. 12th May, 2021 are hereby informed by the office of Controller of Examination, that:
1) The College Students of B.Ed 1st Semester will Email a Single PDF (soft copy) of the answer sheet to their colleges. No student should visit the college premises for submitting the hard copy of the answer sheet. The submission of the soft copy of the answer sheet should strictly be done within 90minutes of the completion of the exam. It is mandatory for the students to Email the PDF of their answer sheet to their Email ID also and this should also be done within 90 minutes of the completion of the exam. However, the students must retain the hard copy of the answer sheet till the result is declared. The College students will not upload their answer sheet on the University Portal.
2) The USOL / Private / Re-Appear students are required to upload the Single PDF of their answer sheet on the University Portal i.e. online.puexam.in within 90 minutes of the completion of the exam. It is mandatory for the students to Email the PDF of their answer sheet to their own Email ID also and this should also be done within 90 minutes of the completion of the exam. The hard copy of the answer sheet is also required to be sent to the University. However considering curfew curbs and health advisories, if speed post within stipulated time as per previous instructions is not possible, flexibility is provided to the candidate to post it at a later stage. The students will seal the answer sheet in an envelope immediately after the exam and retain this with themselves till the exams are concluded. The students can post all of his / her answer sheets to the University after completion of scheduled examinations. However, at places where the administration allows the people to go to the post office, the students can post the answer sheet on the same day of examination itself. In case any alteration is found in the Uploaded PDF of the answer sheet and the Hard Copy of the answer sheet, both answer sheets will be rejected and the result will be withheld. For this, the students are required to accept the undertaking while uploading the answer sheet on the University Portal.
3) The College students appearing in the Clash / Medical Case online examinations of UG / PG 1st Semester should follow Point No. 1 and the USOL / Private / Re-Appear students should follow Point No. 2.
4) Other instructions w.r.t. the pattern of question paper, timing and instructions for attempting the question paper, Number of pages to be used by the students etc. already notified through letter no. 12558/CE, Dated 29.01.2021 and 13049/CE, Dated 13.02.2021 remains unchanged. Both of these letters are available on the University website, online.puexam.in

Panjab University in  association with Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Punjab And Red Cross Society, Punjab, on the eve of World Red Cross day  organised a virtual awareness lecture under the title “ Role of Civil Society in fight against Pandemic”.

Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of P.U. in his address said that Civil Society is the most effective cooperative unit to fight against adversaries. He further added that Man has become the most formidable and fit creature on the earth, due to its acumen and agility to evolve the civilised societies. Man has learned the relevance of mutual cooperation, complementarity and harmony to tackle most of the challenges faced by living creatures. 

Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, renowned thinker and social worker, related the obligations and role of a actual civilised society with formation and working of Indian Red Cross Society. Sh. Khanna urged every youth and capable member of Indian civil society to come forward with dedication to discharge their “ manav dharma” and “ samaj dhrama” holding it be most sacrosanct facet of Idea of justice propagated by Indian Civilisation. Sh. Khanna advised educational institutions to aware the youth to donate blood before being vaccinated, help lonely senior citizens whose children are serving away from home as army personnel or front line fighters and institutions should prepare consultation panels of medical students to aware the needy.

Dr. Umashankar Pachauri, All Indian General Secretary of Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, quoted some anecdotes and stories from ancient Indian history, where to tackle the pandemic and adversaries every affluent member of Indian Society distribute all their earning among society at large and especially for marginalised sections. PU launches E-Library Services

In another milestone for Panjab University, Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, today launched e-Library services for the registered users of the University. PU VC in his address said that it is a momentous moment for PU to extend this facility to the faculty, researchers and students of PU to access around 15000 plus e-Journals, several thousand e-books, databases etc from their safe environments in the current pandemic situation.

            Dr. Jivesh Bansal, University Librarian provided an overview of the PU e-Library and said that this facility will be provided to all the registered users of Panjab University at Chandigarh and all the Regional Centres along with the faculty of all the affiliated Colleges. He further informed that the PU e-Library is a rich content platform through which all the subscribed e-resources, eShodhSindhu resources, Web-OPAC, Institutional Content will be provided to all the registered users of the PU. The e-Library aggregates all the library collections, open Access resources, multimedia learning content and electronic document repositories all on one platform. This facility can be accessed on any device from anywhere. The platform will also provide a Mobile e-Library App (for both Android & iOS) which offers a multi-format, content delivery app for users to consume eBook collections, e-Course material, latest journal issues and multimedia learning content. Patrons can access the e-Library from Library Webpage as well through mobile app.
