During his visit, he interacted with the Chairperson, Dr. Indu Pal Kaur,the Research Scholars and the staff. He discussed issued faced by them and assured of extending all help for the smooth running of the system. He advised all to strictly maintained covid protocol and maintain cleanliness in their work areas.
पंचकूला, 12 अगस्त- टोक्यो ओलंपिक 2020 में इतिहास रचने वाले ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता श्री नीरज चोपड़ा की अभूतपूर्व उपलब्धि के सम्मान में भारतीय डाक विभाग, हरियाणा परिमंडल के द्वारा पानीपत प्रधान डाकघर के मुख्य गेट के नजदीक सोने के रंग का एक विशेष लेटर बॉक्स स्थापित किया गया।
भारतीय डाक विभाग द्वारा यह निर्णय ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता श्री नीरज चोपड़ा के सम्मान एवम युवाओं को खेलों के प्रति प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए लिया गया है।
इस विशेष लेटर बॉक्स के स्थापना के अवसर पर श्रीमती रंजू प्रसाद, चीफ पोस्टमास्टर जनरल हरियाणा ने बताया कि डाक विभाग द्वारा समय-समय पर खिलाडियों को प्रोत्साहित किया जाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि नीरज की यह उपलब्धि युवाओं के लिए प्रेरणा का स्त्रोत बनेगी ।
उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि श्री नीरज चोपड़ा को उनकी इस ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हेतु देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से भारी संख्या में बधाई संदेश ई-पोस्ट के माध्यम से पानीपत डाकघर में प्राप्त हो रहें हैं जिसके त्वरित वितरण हेतु डाक विभाग द्वारा विशेष व्यवस्था की गई है।
पंचकूला, 12 अगस्त- उपायुक्त श्री विनय प्रताप सिंह ने बताया कि हरियाणा खाद्य, नागरिक आपूर्ति एवं उपभोक्ता मामले विभाग द्वारा जिला प्रशासन के सहयोग से प्रदेश के प्रत्येक जिले में 18 अगस्त व 19 अगस्त को डिपुस्थलों पर अन्नपूर्णा उत्सव मनाया जायेगा।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि इस दौरान जिला के पात्र लाभार्थी कार्डधारकों को पात्रता के अनुसार प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना के तहत 5 किलोग्राम तथा 10 किलोग्राम के थैलों में गेहूं वितरित किया जायेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस इवसर पर स्थानीय कलाकारों द्वारा लोक नृत्य तथा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी प्रस्तुत किए जायेंगे।
उन्होंने बताया कि उत्सव के दौरान पंचकूला जिला में प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना के तहत 47 हजार कार्ड धारकों को मुफ्त अतिरिक्त गेहूं प्रति सदस्य के हिसाब से वितरित किया जायेगा। इनमें 11 हजार बीपीएल परिवार व 36 हजार अन्य प्राथमिकता वाले परिवार (ओपीएच) शामिल है।
उपायुक्त ने कहा कि जिला में कुल 126 उचित मूल्य की दुकानों (फेयर प्राईस शॉपस) पर पात्र कार्ड धारकों को राशन वितरित किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यह राशन पहले से ही दिये जा रहे राशन के अतिरिक्त दिया जायेगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि राशन वितरण के दौरान पारदर्शिता सुनिश्चित करने के लिये सभी उचित मूल्य की दुकानों पर एक-एक सरकारी अधिकारी को नोडल अधिकारी के रूप में नियुक्त करने के साथ साथ एक-एक जनप्रतिनिधि व सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता को अर्ब्जवर के रूप में नियुक्त किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इन दुकानों पर राशन वितरण का कार्य कोविड-19 संबंधी दिशा निर्देशों का पालन करते हुये किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि राशन वितरण के समय लाभार्थियों को किसी प्रकार की कठिनाई ना हो इसके लिये जिला प्रशासन द्वारा उचित व्यवस्था की जा रही है।
श्री विनय प्रताप सिंह ने बताया कि अन्नपूर्णा उत्सव को सुचारू रूप से मनाने के लिए जिला खाद्य एवं आपूर्ति पंचकूला कार्यालय में अन्नपूर्णा कंट्रोल रूम नंबर 0172-2929353 स्थापित किया गया है।

पंचकूला, 11 अगस्त – उपायुक्त विनय प्रताप सिंह ने हरियाणा के ओलंपिक पदक विजेताओं के सम्मान में सेक्टर 5 स्थित इन्द्रधनुष सभागार में किए जाने वाले 13 अगस्त के समारोह की तैयारियों का जायजा लिया।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि यह आयोजन 13 अगस्त को 12 बजे आयोजित किया जायेगा, जिसमें मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल स्वयं अपने कर कमलों से हरियाणा के इन खिलाड़ियों को सम्मानित करेंगे। इस अवसर पर हरियाणा के राज्यपाल बंडारू दत्तात्रेय तथा अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति भी समारोह की शोभा बढाएंगे।
उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिये कि समारोह से संबंधित सभी आवश्यक तैयारियां समय से पूर्व पूरी कर ली जाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि यह पचंकूला के लिए गर्व की बात है कि इस सम्मान समारोह का आयोजन पंचकूला में किया जा रहा है। इस आयोजन से पचंकूला वासियों को ओलंपिक में इतिहास रचने वाले हरियाणा के खिलाड़ियों से रू-बरू होने का मौका मिलेगा।
उपायुक्त ने कहा कि पंचकूला जिले के लिए यह भी गौरव की बात है कि शीघ्र ही खेलो इंडिया-2020 का भी आयोजन किया जा रहा है। इससे पूर्व हरियाणा सरकार ने खेलो हरियाणा कार्यक्रम का भी आयोजन करवाने का निर्णय लिया है जिसमें पंचकूला की खेल इन्फ्रास्ट्रचर का विशेष योगदान रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि पंचकूला के सेक्टर 3 स्थित ताउ देवी लाल खेल परिसर को इन खेल प्रतियोगिताओं के अनुरूप अपग्रेड किया जायेगा।

पंचकूला, 11 अगस्त – उपायुक्त विनय प्रताप सिंह ने जिला वासियों को हरियाली तीज की बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएं दी हैं और कहा है कि सावन माह में पडऩे वाले इस त्योहार को खाने-पीने व खुशियों का प्रतीक माना जाता है।
उन्होंने कहा कि तीज का पर्व आस्था, उमंग, सौंदर्य और प्रेम का उत्सव है। हरियाली के प्रतीक इस पर्व पर महिलाएं झूले झूलकर और गीत गाकर खुशियां मनाती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सावन माह को पवित्र माह माना गया है और इस माह से हमारे त्योहारों की शुरूआत होती है तथा यह सिलसिला होली तक चलता है।
उन्होंने कहा कि हालांकि कोविड-19 के चलते समय-समय पर सरकार द्वारा जारी दिशा-निर्देर्शों की पालना करते हुए पिछले एक वर्ष से हम सभी प्रकार के सामाजिक, धार्मिक व त्यौहारों जैसे अन्य कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करते आ रहे हैं।
उपायुक्त ने कहा कि हर वर्ष की भांति इस वर्ष भी हरियाणा सरकार ने बहनों को रक्षाबंधन का तोहफा देते हुए महिलाओं और 15 साल तक के बच्चों को हरियाणा परिवहन निगम की बसों में मुफ्त यात्रा की सुविधा दी है।
उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले साल कोविड-19 महामारी के चलते इसकी अनुमति नहीं दी गई थी। इस समय चूंकि कोरोना संक्रमण के मामलों में काफी गिरावट दर्ज की गई है, इसलिए इस सुविधा को जारी रखने का निर्णय लिया गया है। उन्होंने लोगों से अपील की है कि वे कोविड प्रोटोकॉल का पालन करते हुए इस सुविधा का लाभ उठाएं।
The Centre for Human Rights and Duties in collaboration with National Cadet Corps of Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a one day workshop for NCC Cadets on the topic of “Mental Health and Well Being” at University Institute of Emerging Areas in Social Sciences, (UIEASS)Panjab University, Chandigarh on 11 August, 2021.
Dr. Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties introduced the resource person. She stated that everyone has faced one or other kind of mental health problems in the Corona pandemic. People have faced difficulties in coping with mental health problems. Therefore it is the need of the hour to inform people what they should do in such situations and how they can maintain their well being.
Dr. Jayanti Dutta, Deputy Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University in her presentation explained that mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community. To become healthy, every person needs to think clearly and originally, feel active and behave properly in society. She also defined the concept of success. Success is basically having self-satisfaction and to achieve one’s Goals. She stated that parameters of success differ with individuals and it changes with times as persons keep evolving. Everyone needs to think before sleeping whether what they are doing is good for them or not.
She further added that human Beings should live a slow, simple and uncomplicated life. Nowadays, people don’t think actively. They only do what society teaches them. Hence, there is a need to think actively, originally and positively and to understand what is right or wrong. She also said that our body and mind is our life partner so we have to take care of our body and health, and should exercise daily. We should not adopt bad habits, and don’t abuse our body through consuming substance abuse. We should be aware of our abilities, weaknesses and emotions. We should have a balanced life so that we cannot regret our decisions later. Everyone should work on their skills, attitude and competency besides having a professionalized degree. Everyone needs to learn how to speak up or express their thoughts, ideas and emotions on public platforms.

The Department of Zoology, Panjab University Chandigarh hosted today, virtual distinguished lectures under the aegis of Indian Sciences Congress Association and Zoological Society of India in collaboration with Chandigarh forum for Sciences and Technology Communication.
The session was chaired by Prof. R. C. Sobti former Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh, and Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Chairperson of, Department of Zoology welcomed the distinguished guests and eminent speakers.
The first distinguished lecture entitled “Small stories big impact DNA in life science research” was delivered by Prof. Gulab Khedkar Director, Paul Hebert Centre for DNA Barcoding and Biodiversity Studies, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad India. He discussed DNA barcoding and International Barcode of Life (iBOL) initiatives. He elaborated upon the applications of DNA barcoding in taxonomic studies on fishes, food forensic and wildlife monitoring, exploration and impact of exotic species. Further, he also highlighted the importance of beta-actin markers in microsatellite genotyping and metagenomic profile of uterine samples to improve the in-vitro fertilization success ratio.
The second lecture entitled “Protein-based Biomarkers methods of discovery and clinical application” was delivered by Dr. Sudarshan Kumar, Sr. ScientistAnimal Biotechnology Center, ICAR-NDRI Karnal. He discussed bovine proteomics using mass spectrometry. He emphasized the working and methodologies of various techniques in isolating protein and the importance of proteomic research. He provided an insight into the various high throughput data analyses pipelines and various protein sequences databases. He also discussed the apoptosis pathways in different organs and different biomarkers for pregnancy discoveries using protein content in cow urine.
The session ended with vote of thanks form Dr. Archana Chauhan, coordinator of the event.
The session was attended by more than 100 participants.

Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, Chandigarh and University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development organized an online poster making and slogan writing competition on the theme “Say No to Drugs” on July 30, 2021. The students from various colleges of Panjab as well as students of Panjab University participated in the event enthusiastically. The students were instructed that the poster/slogan must be handmade along with stepwise pictures to ensure originality of the work.
The result of the competition was announced on August 10, 2021. The first prize in the poster making was bagged by Ms Gaurika, Department of Education, Panjab University. Second prize was won by Ms Tanya from MCM DAV College and third prize was shared by Ms Yukta from UIFT&VD and Ms Chetanpreet Kaur. In slogan writing competition, the first prize was won by Ms Ramanjot Kaur, second prize by Ms Tara Sehgal and third prize was shared by Ms Kriti Bhardwaj, IETVE and Ms Manshita Goyal.
The organizers of the event Dr Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties and Dr Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson UIFT& VD stated that the event was organized to instil a value amongst students and to motivate them to say no to drugs. They further stated that they will organize more such competitions/events in the months to come.

Department of Chemistry, Panjab University Chandigarh celebrated “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” today, to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Vice-Chancellor and able guidance of Prof K. N. Singh (Chairperson).
Prof. V. Chandrasekhar, Distinguished Professor and Centre Director, TIFR Hyderabad (Chief Guest) delivered a lecture on “From PC Ray to the present-Development of Chemistry in modern India”. He presented glimpses of the life of Dr. P. C. Ray and contribution of modern scientific community of India in the 75 years of progress in chemical sciences.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Navneet Kaur (Associate Professor) and Dr. Varinder Kaur (Assistant Professor), and the event was presided by Prof V. R. Sinha, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The students of the department participated in an e-poster competition organized by Chemical Society of the department to showcase the progress of chemistry in 75 years and the winners were awarded with prizes.

पंचकूला, 10 अगस्त- पंचकूला के पिंजौर स्थित यादवेन्द्रा गार्डन में 75वें आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव के उपलक्ष में आयोजित किए जा रहे दो दिवसीय ’हरियाणा का लोक महोत्सव तीज के पहले दिन प्रदेश भर से आए स्वयं सहायता समूहों की 150 से अधिक महिलाओं द्वारा 55 से अधिक स्टाल लगाए गए।
हरियाणा राज्य आजीविका मिशन की मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी डॉ0 अमरेन्द्र कौर ने बताया कि उत्सव के दौरान स्वयं सहायता समूहो की महिलाओं द्वारा स्टाल स्थापित कर रूरल मार्ट के द्वारा खाने के सामान से लेकर कपड़े, पारंपरिक हस्तकलाओं के उत्पादों की प्रदर्शनी लगाई गई।
उन्होंने बताया कि हरियाणा के उपमुख्यमंत्री श्री दुष्यंत चौटाला ’हरियाणा का लोक महोत्सव तीज’ के अवसर पर कल मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित होकर कार्यक्रम की शोभा बढाएंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि कार्यक्रम के दौरान 26 करोड़ 16 लाख 30 हजार का बैंक ऋण स्वयं सहायता समूह की सदस्यों को दिया जाएगा। इसके अतिरिक्त श्आजीविका ग्रामीण एक्सप्रेस योजनाश् के तहत वाहन क्रय हेतुु सभी 22 जिलों को 4 करोड़ 23 लाख रूपए की राशि प्रदान की जाएगी।
उन्होंने बताया कि कार्यक्रम के समापन अवसर पर सर्वश्रेष्ठ समूह पुरस्कार-2020, सर्वश्रेष्ठ जिला पुरस्कार व सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्टॉल पुरस्कार भी प्रदान किए जायेंगे।
