Today, i.e. September 25th, 2021, the students of Masters in Social Work (MSW) 3rd semester were imparted with the first AID Training by Dr Rakesh Khullar, Ex-Medical Officer, Health Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

He shared the three P formula – Preserve life, Prevent Injury and Promote Recovery as the most crucial aspects in First AID. He said that saving the life of the individual after any accident or injury is the most important task. We should also work on avoiding the injuries, as prevention is better than cure. He emphasized the role of promoting the recovery rate by undertaking appropriate steps.  He shared the importance of the golden hour, which is the first hour after any injury as the most crucial in saving the life of the individual.  He said that the person who met with an accident should be taken to the hospital at the earliest.

He also demonstrated to the students the exact way of washing hands with other hygiene maintaining activities. He shared the importance of using soaps over other material and how to have maximum foam from the soaps. He also shared various precautions to be taken-up after any animal bite like dog, cat, rat or monkey. The most important thing after animal bite is to wash it under running tap water for at least 15 minutes and rush to the doctor immediately for it’s vaccination. He gave the RICE acronym in case of a foot sprain in which Rest, Icing, Compression and Elevation are the most important aspects that we have to follow.

Gaurav Gaur, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work also addressed the students and said that all these training programmes are meant to enhance the capacity of students. He said that all the skills learnt today would be useful in future especially in the fieldwork to all of them.

Himani Pant one of the students who attended the session said that “ it was an eye opening session for me and I really liked the way all these things were conveyed to us and especially the RICE acronym” Tanya Chandel welcomed the resource person and Tabisha Kanwar, from MSW – 3rd semester proposed a formal vote of thanks.

French expert team from EU & AFD visits 24×7 water supply projects sites

Evaluated Scope of work taken in the 24×7 project

Chandigarh, September 24:- The French expert team from EU and AFD today visited Water Works of Sector-39, Chandigarh and studied the existing infrastructure viz-a-viz the scope of work taken in the 24×7 project was evaluated.

Accompanied by the senior officers of Public Health Circle, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh the team also visited Maloya Resettlement Colony and discussed to explore the provisions of continuous water supply in the colony. The team also studied the Grievance Addressable Mechanism of MCC and visited Rose Club, Sector-16 Chandigarh.

The water connections mechanisms and Bill dispute redressal mechanism were also reviewed by EU/AFD team by visiting billing office at Sector -18, Chandigarh. Provisions taken to improve the quality of life in Sanjay Colony were discussed at length and the team had a first hand information on the present status of the colony by visiting the same.

The team also visited Sector-17 MCC office . Thereafter, discussions were held to finalize the Monitoring as Evaluation tools of the Project. The important dates of the projects/time lines w.r.t. signing of Credit Facility Agreement and Project Agreement were deliberated. The provisions for engaging Long Term Technical Assistance were discussed and the Mission ended on a positive note to proceed further.

पचंकूला, 24 सितंबर – केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि कोरोना, जिसे सदी के सबसे बड़े संकटों में से एक कहा जा सकता है, के बावजूद प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के कुशल नेतृत्व में केंद्र सरकार ने किसी को भूखा नहीं सोने दिया और हर वर्ग का ख्याल रखा।


श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण आज पंचकूला के सेक्टर 1 स्थित पीडब्ल्यूडी विश्राम गृह में प्रधानमंत्री के जन्मदिन समारोह के तहत देश भर में मनाए जा रहे ‘सेवा समर्पण पर्व’ की एक कड़ी में आयोजित ‘आर्थिक सुधार, समृद्धि एवं मोदी जी’ विषय पर एक संगोष्ठि को संबोधित कर रही थीं ।


उन्होंने कहा कि महामारी के दौरान भी सेवाभाव भाजपा का एक मुख्य आदर्श रहा। प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा राज्य स्तर पर ही नहीं बल्कि ब्लॉक और बूथ स्तर पर सभी को समाज के लिए कार्य करने हेतु प्रेरित करने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी गई ।


उन्होंने कहा कि लॉकडाउन की अवधि के दौरान भी प्रधानमंत्री ने हर क्षेत्र- गरीबों, मजदूरों और प्रवासियों को सशक्त बनाने के लिए उच्च स्तरीय अधिकारियों के साथ नियमित बैठकें कीं। कोरोना महामारी के दौरान पांच प्रमुख आत्मानिर्भर भारत घोषणाएं प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा अधिकारियों के साथ की गई सीधी बातचीत, समर्पण और समय पर दिए गए दिशा-निर्देशों का ही परिणाम हैं।


केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि भारत पिछले 70 सालों से एक पुरानी व्यवस्था के अनुसार ही काम कर रहा है। हालांकि, 2014 के बाद से देश को इससे बाहर निकालने के लिए केंद्र सरकार द्वारा अथक सुधार लाए गए हैं। विधायी सुधारों से लेकर प्रशासनिक सुधारों तक, भारत को आत्मनिर्भर भारत ट्रैक पर ले जाने और देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को कमजोर से सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था में बदलने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास किया गया।

उन्होंने कहा कि हर क्षेत्र में विभिन्न डिजिटल और आर्थिक सुधार लाए गए हैं। महामारी के दौरान डिजिटल सुधारों की शुरुआत करते हुए पात्र परिवारों के जन धन खातों में एक क्लिक के माध्यम से पैसे हस्तांतरित किए गए । आज भारत में सभी के पास बैंक खाते हैं ।


श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि कोरोना महामारी के दौरान जरूरतमंदों को मुफ्त राशन और भोजन के साथ प्रधानमंत्री उज्ज्वला योजना के तहत तीन सिलेंडर मुफ्त दिए गए। डीबीटी प्रणाली के माध्यम से नकली बैंक खातों का पता लगा। इसके अलावा, बिजली क्षेत्र में भी कई बड़े सुधार लाए गए हैं।


केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि अर्थव्यवस्था का परिवर्तनकारी बदलाव हमारा लक्ष्य है। कौशल विकास और युवाओं को रोजगार योग्य बनाना केंद्र सरकार की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है।


कांग्रेस पर तंज कसते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस ने अर्थव्यवस्था को इतनी खराब स्थिति में छोड़ था कि देश पर पड़े आर्थिक बोझ की कीमत मौजूदा सरकार चुका रही है।


उन्होंने कहा कि हम जो कुछ भी कमा रहे हैं, वह सब भारत के विकास में उपयोग किया जा रहा है। भारत की सीमाओं से लेकर महासागरों तक मल्टीमॉडल ट्रांसपोर्ट, डिफेंस कॉरिडोर सरकार द्वारा अर्जित राजस्व से बनाया जा रहा है, पिछली सरकार की तरह यह पैसा किसी विशेष परिवार के बैंक खातों में नहीं जा रहा है।


माता मनसा देवी से प्रार्थना करते हुए वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि उन्हें उम्मीद है कि कोरोना की संभावित तीसरी लहर देश में नहीं आएगी, लेकिन अगर ऐसा हुआ भी तो इससे निपटने के लिए देश में स्वास्थ्य व्यवस्था पूरी तरह से तैयार है। बड़े पैमाने पर टीकाकरण के तहत प्रत्येक व्यक्ति का टीकाकरण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभियान चलाया जा रहा है।


इससे पूर्व, हरियाणा विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ज्ञानचंद गुप्ता, प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष श्री ओ. पी. धनखड़ ने भी इस मौके पर सभा को संबोधित किया।

पचंकूला, 24 सितंबर- राष्ट्रीय पोषण माह, 2021 के तहत आयुष विभाग, जिला पंचकुला द्वारा सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र रायपुररानी में निःशुल्क चिकित्सा कैम्प का आयोजन किया गया।


           इस अवसर पर होम्योपैथिक विशेषज्ञा डा0 शिल्पा चावला, आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सा अधिकारी डा0 सुमन गुप्ता व आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सा अधिकारी डा0 ज्योति खरब ने उपस्थित लोगो को किशेरावस्था, गर्भावस्था व धात्री महिलाओं कोपोष्टिक आहार तथा कुपोषित बच्चों के ठीक खान-पान के बारे में जागरूक किया व खून की कमी को दूर करने के लिए पोषक आहार जैसे पत्तेदार सब्जियां, पनीर, दाले, अंडा आदि को आहार में शामिल करने के बारे में विस्तृत चर्चा की।


शिविर में अंजलि कौशिक, योग प्रशिक्षक द्वारा सामान्य जीवन  में योग क्रियाओं  के महत्व तथा योग क्रियाओं से शरीर पर पड़ने वाले प्रभावों के बारे में बताया तथा लोगांे को योग क्रियाएं करवाई ।
इस कैम्प में 106 रोगियों को आयुर्वेदिक व 62 रोगियों को होम्योपैथिक निःशुल्क औषधियाॅं वितरित की गई । कैम्प में लगभग 168 रोगियों को औषधीयों के साथ-साथ स्वस्थ्य दिनचर्या के बारे में चिकित्सकों द्वारा जानकारी दी गई।

पंचकूला, 24 सितंबर- राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की केंद्रीय कार्यकारिणी के सदस्य एवं गौ सेवा व गौ संवर्धन प्रकल्प के पूर्व राष्ट्रीय प्रमुख शंकरलाल ने पिंजोर की श्री कामधेनू गौशाला सेवा सदन में स्थापित हरियाणा गौ सेवा आयोग के तकनीकी मार्गदर्शन में चलने वाले गौ अनुसंधान केंद्र का दौरा किया।


इस अवसर पर हरियाणा गौ सेवा आयोग के चेयरमैन श्रवण कुमार गर्ग पूरे प्रवास के दौरान साथ मौजूद रहे। पिछले अनेकों वर्षों से देशभर में गौ माता के प्रचार- प्रसार व गौ संवर्धन हेतु शंकरलाल विशेष तौर पर एक जन जागरण अभियान चला रहे हैं। गाय के महत्व के बारे में देशभर में जा जाकर लोगों को जानकारियां उपलब्ध करवा रहे हैं।


इस मौके पर उन्होंने कहा कि गायों की असली जगह किसान का घर होता है, गौशालाएं तो गाय के लिए एक अस्थाई निवास है। देशी गोवंश का संवर्धन कर उच्च गुणवत्ता व ज्यादा दूध उत्पादन करने वाली गायों को तैयार करना होगा। इस दिशा में पिंजोर की श्री कामधेनु गौशाला सेवा सदन बेहतर कार्य कर रही है। इस दिशा में और ज्यादा प्रयासों की आवश्यकता है। शंकरलाल ने देशी गोवंश की महत्ता पर बल दिया और कहा कि विदेशी गाय का दूध जहर के समान होता है, जबकि देसी गाय का दूध अमृत समान है।

उन्होंने गोवंश में आमतौर पर होने वाली बीमारियों के बेहतर इलाज के लिए अंग्रेजी दवाओं की बजाए देसी, गौतत्व, होम्योपैथिक की दवाइयों पर आधारित उपचार पर जोर दिया। ऐसा करने से उपचार के उपरांत आने वाले दुष्परिणामों से बचा जा सकता है। उन्होंने केवल पशुओं या गायों के लिए ही नहीं अपितु मानव के लिए भी देसी दवाइयों, गौ आधारित, होम्योपैथी दवाओं से होने वाले उपायों की विस्तृत जानकारी अनेकों फार्मूला के साथ बताइ। उनके अनुसार 108 प्रकार की बीमारियां गोबर और गोमूत्र से ठीक हो सकती है। शंकरलाल ने जानकारी प्रदान करते हुए बताया कि गाय के गोबर से बने खाद या समाधि खाद के प्रयोग से फसलों में ज्यादा पैदावार होती है। जिससे किसानों की आमदनी में बढ़ोतरी होगी।


इस मौके पर कार्यक्रम अध्यक्ष हरियाणा गौ सेवा आयोग के चेयरमैन श्रवण कुमार गर्ग ने इस गौ संवर्धन केंद्र में चल रहे कार्यों की विस्तृत जानकारी उपलब्ध कराई व केंद्र का दौरा करवाया। उन्होंने आह्वान किया कि आजकल पितु पक्ष चल रहा है, इस दौरान गौशालाओं में ज्यादा से ज्यादा सवामनी लगानी चाहिए। क्योंकि शास्त्रों में वर्णित है कि पितृपक्ष के दौरान गायों को खिलाए भोजन से अपने पूर्वजों तक भोजन का सीधा लाभ पहुंचता है। गाय की सेवा भी होगी और गाय के पालन पोषण का पुण्य प्राप्त होगा।


श्रवण कुमार गर्ग ने जानकारी दी कि श्री कामधेनू गौशाला सेवा सदन में लगभग 1100 गोवंश है। जिनमें से ज्यादातर देशी गोवंश है। इस संवर्धन केंद्र में साहिवाल, थारपारकर, गिर नस्ल पर जबरदस्त नस्ल सुधार का कार्य चल रहा है। जिसके लिए पूरी गौशाला समिति बधाई की पात्र है। इस गोशाला में गाय के गोबर व गोमूत्र से अनेकों उत्पाद तैयार किए जा रहे हैं। जिनकी उपभोक्ताओं में अच्छी खासी मांग आ रही है। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के केंद्रीय कार्यकारिणी सदस्य शंकरलाल का हरियाणा में पहुंचने पर स्वागत किया।


इस अवसर पर हरियाणा गौ सेवा आयोग के सचिव डॉ चिरंतन कादयान, गौशाला समिति के भारत भूषण बंसल, नव राज धीर, रोहित सिंगला, आयोग के पशु चिकित्सक डॉ अश्वनी कुमार, पशुपालन विभाग के उपमंडल अधिकारी डॉ रणजीत सिंह जादौन, उपनिदेशक डॉ अनिल बनवाला व गौशाला समिति के अनेकों सदस्य और गौ भक्त मौजूद रहे। कार्यक्रम के अंत गाय के गोबर से बने गमलों में लगे तुलसी के पौधे भेंट किए गए।

Gen Shukla in his address brought out the seven key postulates that can shape and define the national security futures viz information,  role of technology, Artificial Intelligence, digitalization, R&D, foreign policy and economic buildup, capacity building, Border Management, climatic issues and civil-military fusion. He  mentioned how everything happening around us is linked to the domain of National Security.  He first brought out the effects of pandemic and how it has affectively disturbed the health services, economic buildup, social structure and the geo-politics of the world. He further highlighted the role of information in national security wherein sharing and assimilating the right information at the right time is key to secure your domain at the larger perspective.

He further added that the nation has to strengthen its Artificial Intelligence (AI) vis-a-vis its neighbours and beyond.  In addition to enhance our AI, the nation also has to work profusely on technological research and development. The changing technology has changed the parameters of war fighting and the future of armed forces is not limited to the borders but has to look beyond their area of interest and reach. The strategic depth is what the nations are looking for and that can only be achieved by enhancing our assets.  

The speaker aptly emphasized on the significance of foreign policy too. The present world order has called for a more strong yet supple foreign policy wherein country’s national interest should not be compromised. The Geo-political, geo-economic conditions define country’s stature in conjunction with its foreign policy and decision making.

Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor Panjab University graced the event as Chief Guest and shared his views on the role, contribution and the supreme sacrifice the armed forces have made in the security of the nation. He highlighted the significance of discipline like national security in raising the consciousness amongst the masses, to acknowledge the hardship of the forces and contribute to nation building.  

Earlier, Dr Jaskaran Singh Waraich, Chairperson, introduced the speaker to the audience and welcomed all the distinguished dignitaries who joined the special lecture.

Later Gen. Shukla answered the various queries raised by the audience. The lecture was presided by Prof Rakesh Datta. The webinar was attended by various notable personalities like Lt. Gen K J Singh (Retd) former Army Commander, Western Command; Maj Gen Amarjit Singh (Retd) Director Gyan Chakra, members of Gyan Chakra and Gyan Setu think tanks, Senior veterans, serving armed forces personnel, university faculty, research scholars and students from various departments of the University.

PU VC releases a Book on Intellectual Property

A book entitled ‘Intellectual Property: A Primer for Academia’ authored by Professor Rupinder Tewari, IPR-Chair Professor, PU and Ms Mamta Bhardwaj, Scientist-C, DST-Centre for Policy Research, PU, was released by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh today. He remarked that that this book has come at a right time as IP is gaining strong foothold in higher education because we are living in a Technology-led era. Intellectual Property, especially patents, is a crucial vertical of Technology driven innovations.

IGNOU extends Admission up to 30th September, 2021

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online Fresh admission of all Masters, Bachelor & Diplomas programmes up to  30th September, 2021 for the July-2021 session. This extension of last date shall not apply to Certificate and Semester-based programmes, i.e., MP, MPB, PGDMM, PGDFM, PGDHRM, PGDOM, PGDFMP, DBPOFA, PGDIS, MCA, BCA, and all Certificate and Awareness programmes of 6 months duration or less. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2021 session can be accessed from the link https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. The prospective learners can apply for Masters/Bachelor/Diploma programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for the July session was earlier fixed for September, 23.
