Department of Sociology, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a special Lecture on ” Creating respectful Workplaces for women”. Dr Rani Mehta, Chairperson, introduced the key speaker Ms. Merri Hanson, Director of Peninsula Mediation, who is a conflict resolution consultant for various federal agencies such as Navy, Homeland Security, NASA, Department of Justice in USA. She focused on various best practices required for creating a conducive working environment for women. She was accompanied by Ms. Catherine Fischer, Public Diplomacy Officer, U.S Embassy and Ms Ayesha Gideon from The American Centre, New Delhi. The lecture was very informative and thought provoking for the audience which included faculty members and students of the department.

आगामी 14 सितंबर (शनिवार) को न्यायालय परिसर सिरसा, उपमंडल न्यायालय परिसर डबवाली व ऐलनाबाद में राष्ट्रीय लोक अदालत का आयोजन किया जाएगा।
यह जानकारी देते हुए जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के सचिव एवं मुख्य न्यायिक दंडाधिकारी अनमोल सिंह ने बताया कि इस लोक अदालत में सभी तरह के केस जिनमें आपराधिक जटिल मामलों, बैंक रिकवरी केस, एनआई एक्ट अंडर सेक्शन 138 के तहत केसों, श्रम विवाद मामलों, बिजली और पानी बिल, वैवाहिक विवाद, मोटर वाहन दुर्घटना, भूमि अधिग्रहण के मामलों, सेवा मामले और अन्य नागरिक मामले शामिल हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि हरियाणा राज्य विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण पंचकूला के निर्देशानुसार समय-समय पर लोक अदालतों का आयोजन किया जाता है। लोक अदालत की प्रक्रिया बिल्कुल संक्षिप्त व साधारण है जिसमें दोनों पक्षों की सहमति से केस का निपटारा किया जाता है। उन्होंने आम लोगों से अपील करते हुए कहा कि जिन के भी उक्त मामलों से संबंधित केस कोर्टों में लंबित हैं वे उन्हें लोक अदालत में आपसी सहमति से निपटवा सकते हैं।

सैंट्रल नोडल प्रभारी चंद्राकर भारती ने जल शक्ति अभियान के तहत ली समीक्षा बैठक
भारत सरकार के रक्षा मंत्रालय से संयुक्त सचिव एवं सैंट्रल नोडल प्रभारी चंद्राकर भारती ने कहा कि सभी विभाग ‘जल शक्ति अभियानÓ के अंतर्गत निर्धारित एक्शन प्लान में तेजी लाएं। साथ ही पूर्ण किए जा चुके कार्यों की डिटेल ‘जल शक्ति अभियानÓ एप पर अपलोड करें ताकि जिला की रैंकिंग में सुधार लाया जा सके।
वे आज स्थानीय लोक निर्माण विश्राम गृह में जल शक्ति अभियान के तहत आयोजित समीक्षा बैठक को संबोधित कर रहे थे। बैठक में नोडल प्रभारी चंद्राकर भारती ने विभागों द्वारा किए गए कार्यों की खंडवार समीक्षा की और अधिकारियों को आवश्यक दिशा निर्देश दिए। इस बैठक में सिंचाई विभाग, वन विभाग, लोक निर्माण विभाग, विकास एवं पंचायत विभाग, मार्केट कमेटी, कृषि विभाग, जनस्वास्थ्य विभाग सहित विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारी मौजूद थे।
श्री भारती ने कहा कि जल शक्ति अभियान 1 जुलाई से शुरु हुआ था और यह अभियान 15 सितम्बर को सम्पन्न हो रहा है। इस अभियान के तहत देश के 250 से भी अधिक जिले चिह्निïत किए गए थे जहां का भूजल स्तर बहुत ही कम है। इनमें सिरसा जिला भी शामिल है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस समय सिरसा जिला की रैंकिंग 92 है तथा जिला की स्कोर 21.71 है। उन्होंने अधिकारियों से कहा कि वे प्राप्त किए गए लक्ष्यों की रिपोर्ट दो दिनों के अंदर-अंदर ‘जल शक्ति अभियानÓ एप पर अपलोड करवाएं ताकि जिला की रैंकिंग व स्कोर में सुधार करवाया जा सके।
उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिये कि वे पूर्ण कार्यों की जियोटैगिंग यथाशीघ्र करें ताकि ऑनलाईन कार्यों की वास्तविक स्थिति की जानकारी प्राप्त की जा सके। उन्होंने बताया कि अभियान के प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन हेतु मुख्य बिन्दु निर्धारित किए गए है। इनमें जल संरक्षण एवं वर्षा जल संचयन, परम्परागत एवं अन्य जलाशयों का जीर्णोद्धार, बोरवेल रिचार्ज स्ट्रक्चर्स का रियूज, जलग्रहण क्षेत्र विकास व सघन वृक्षारोपण किया जाना शामिल है। जिला में जल शक्ति अभियान की प्रगति की समीक्षा के लिए केन्द्र सरकार की पांच सदस्यीय टीम आई हुई है जो आगामी दो दिनों तक जिला में चिह्निïत स्थानों पर अभियान के तहत कार्यों की समीक्षा करेगी।
उल्लेखनीय है कि जिला में जल संरक्षण अभियान के तहत पौधारोपण का लक्ष्य प्राप्त किया जा चुका है, विभाग द्वारा अबतक 4 लाख 20 हजार पौधे रोपित किए जा चुके हैं। वन विभाग द्वारा मुख्य मार्गों के दौनों ओर, नहरों, स्कूलों, सरकारी व सार्वजनिक भवनों के प्रांगण में पौधारोपण किया जा चुका है। इसके अलावा जल स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा जिला के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में 2500 टूंटियां लगाने का लक्ष्य प्राप्त हुआ था, विभाग द्वारा लक्ष्य से उपर उठ कर 2700 टूंटियां लगवाई जा चुकी है। इसके अलावा तालाबों के किनारों की सफाई करवाई जा चुकी है, साथ ही वहां पर पौधारोपण का कार्य भी करवाया गया है। इसके अलावा तालाबों के विस्तार का कार्य जारी है ताकि तालाबों की जल संग्रहण की क्षमता बढ सके।
इस बैठक में नगराधीश कुलभूषण बंसल, जिला वन अधिकारी राम कुमार, जिला उद्यान अधिकारी सतबीर शर्मा सहित अन्य संबंधित विभागों के अधिकारी मौजूद थे।

With the sole intent to support young scientists/ideas/entrepreneurs, Panjab University has been promoting translation research and bio-entrepreneurship for over a decade. Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) sanctioned establishment of Bio-incubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (BioNEST) that is primarily hosting the entrepreneurs in the North of India and assist the struggling innovators to help them make their ideas visible to the society.
Dr. Rohit Sharma, is the Project leader of BioNEST at Panjab University (BN- PU). The BioNEST is providing a strong incubation support to all the new enterprises in North India. It is providing innovative technology and capacity building platform/s. Demonstrating the role entrepreneurship in an academic system and provide a new direction to research is what is an integral component of BioNEST’s motto.
One of the start-ups namely MicroFoods Pvt. Ltd started in 2016 by Prabhjot Singh Khanna a Microbiologist from PAU, Ludhiana. After doing masters research work on vinegar fermentation and having a 2 years of industrial experience in fermentation department he started a boot strapped start up with manufacturing of Apple cider vinegar.
Starting the company from a small room in 2016 today MicroFoods Pvt. Ltd had renowned market name after starting Gluten free Multigrain Flour with brand name Gluten Go.
Recently MicroFoods has been selected for second stage by BIRAC SEED Fund grant in association with Foundation of Innovation and and Technology Transfer (FITT, IIT Delhi with award price of Rs. 30Lac for setting of scale-up facility.
Before this MicroFoods Pvt. Ltd. has also won Rs. 30Lac grant under SAEN-BIRAC programme in association BioNEST-PU, Chandigarh for designing of reactor for vinegar fermentation. Presently Micro Foods Pvt. Ltd is incubatee in BioNEST-PU for its R&D projects and have further increased its strength for innovation of new products under the facility available.
Seeing the future potential of the market MicroFoods is planning to launch basket of gluten free products with high fibre content which is main requirement for present society. As presently we are selling our products in Punjab with help of this grant MicroFoods will able to increase its production capacity and take its marketing to Pan India level. “The target of the Incubation space is to help the start-up generate funding from different sources and not only start-up fund but also stage two and follow up funds so that the product/s reach the market/society, which is the prime focus of such programmes” said Dr. Rohit Sharma, Project Leader BioNEST-PU.

तीसरी एलिमेंटरी स्कूल स्टेट बेडमिंटन व एथलेटिक्स टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन पंचकूला के सेक्टर 3 स्थित ताऊ देवी लाल स्टेडियम में करवाया गया। मंगलवार को शुरू हुई तीन दिवसीय प्रतियोगिता का शुभारंभ ज़िला मौलिक शिक्षा अधिकारी श्रीमती निरुपमा ने अपने कर कमलों द्वारा किया।
इस बारे में जानकारी देते हुए उप ज़िला मौलिक शिक्षा अधिकारी श्रीमती इंदु दहिया ने बताया कि बैडमिंटन प्रतियोगिता में लडकों की कुल 21 व लड़कियों की कुल 19 टीमों ने भाग लिया। अंडर 14 लड़कियों के फाइनल मुकाबलों में पंचकूला की टीम ने प्रथम, फरीदाबाद की टीम ने द्वितीय व रोहतक की टीम ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। वहीं लड़कों के फाइनल मुकाबलों में सोनीपत, झज्जर व रोहतक की टीमों ने क्रमशः प्रथम , द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।
प्रथम टीम के प्रत्येक प्लेयर को 1000 रुपये , द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त टीम के प्रत्येक प्लेयर को 750 व तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त टीम को 500 रुपये पुरस्कार राशि के तौर पर दी जाएगी।
एथलेटिक्स मुकाबलों के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए अतिरिक्त मौलिक शिक्षा अधिकारी( स्पोर्ट्स) ओम प्रकाश ने बताया कि अंडर 11 लड़कियों के हाई जम्प मुकाबलेमें रोहतक की साक्षी प्रथम, हिसार की तम्मना व मौसमी क्रमशः द्वितीय व तृतीय व चौथे स्थान पर फतेहाबाद की मुस्कान रही। शॉट पुट में जींद की ऐलिस, सिरसा की आरज़ू, फतेहाबाद की स्नेह व हिसार की सुरक्षा ने क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय व चौथा स्थान प्राप्त किया। 400 मीटर में हिसार टीम की नितिका, सुरक्षा, नीतिका व चेतना ने प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय व चतुर्थ स्थान हासिल किया। 200 मीटर में पानीपत की तनीषा, सिरसा की राखी , सोनीपत की आरजू व जींद की जसिका ने क्रमशः पहला, दूसरा , तीसरा व चौथा स्थान प्राप्त किया।
अंडर 14 के लड़कियों के मुकाबले में 200 मीटर रेस में रेवाड़ी की रेणुका, झज्जर की पिंकी गुलिया व नीतू एवम सोनीपत की खुशी मोर ने क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय व चतुर्थ स्थान प्राप्त किया। 600 मीटर में रोहतक की माही नांदल, हिसार की निशु , भिवानी की दीक्षा कुमारी व पानीपत की साक्षी ने क्रमशःपहला, दूसरा, तीसरा व चौथा स्थान हासिल किया । लांग जम्प में हिसार की प्रिया, सोनीपत की जसप्रीत कौर, चरखी दादरी की निशु व गुड़गांव की प्रिसचा मिश्रा ने क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय व चतुर्थ स्थान प्राप्त किया। हाई जम्प में फतेहाबाद की पूजा ने पहला, सोनीपत की प्राची ने दूसरा , रेवाड़ी की स्वाति ने तीसरा व चरखी दादरी की निशु ने चौथा स्थान हासिल किया। शॉट पुट में झज्जर की तम्मना ने प्रथम , अम्बाला की तन्वी सैनी ने द्वितीय, भिवानी की अंशिका ने तृतीय व झज्जर की भावना ने चतुर्थ स्थान प्राप्त किया। अंडर 14 लड़कियों के 400 मीटर में हिसार टीम प्रथम , झज्जर टीम द्वितीय व पंचकूला टीम ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।
एलीमेंट्री स्कूल स्टेट टूर्नामेंट में अंडर 14 लड़कियों के बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट में पंचकूला की टीम ने प्रथम स्थान अर्जित करके ज़िले का मान बढ़ाया है। इस बारे में जानकारी देते हुए टीम के कोच रोहित मंडाण ने बताया कि पंचकूला टीम में रिजुल सैनी, अनन्या, विनीता, निकिता व आकांक्षा ने बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन करके राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता के लिए क्वालीफाई किया है। राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता में दस लड़कियों जाएंगी जिसमें उम्मीद है कि पंचकूला टीम से तीन लड़कियां चुनी जाएंगी।

Dept of Hindi today organized a essay writing competition as a part of series of activities planned by the Department on the occasion of Hindi month. The topic for essay writing competition was’Hindi mey Dil, Dil mey Hindi’. Twenty Students from different Departments of the University and city colleges participated in the event. These included PGGC-11, MCM-DAV-36, GCM-11. The next activity ‘Har Chitr Kuch Kehta Hai’ planned as a part of the celebration will be held on 16th September. Dr Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Dept of Hindi informed that the winners will be felicitated on the closing ceremony function to be held on 28th September. He also informed that the next activity, a movie screening of the film English Vinglish will be held on 13th September and a Hindi Walk will be organized on Hindi Day, 14th sept, at 6.30am on Sukhna Lake.

Manoj Kumar Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh today launched a campaign for ‘Plastic Free Chandigarh’ under the Swachhata hi Sewa programme, here at central plaza, sector 17, Chandigarh in presence of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor and Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC, Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, area councilor, other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration and MCC, Councilors, representatives of RWAs, MWAs and other NGOs were also present during the event.
While addressing the stakeholders, the Adviser stressed upon the need to abolish plastic from daily routine life. He said that we must think of technology to abolish plastic usage in the city. He appealed the citizens to adopt ways to reduce plastic usageuse jute and cloth bags in their daily life.
He said that the ban on plastic items cannot be successful without the cooperation of public and sought their help in this endeavor and said that the motive behind the campaign to send the message among masses against the use of plastic and total plastic ban in Chandigarh.
The Adviser launched selfie competition to encourage citizens against the use of plastic in different categories i.e. (a) School Students, (b) College Students, (c) Shopkeepers/Vendors, (d) NGOs/Institutuons, (e) Citizens, (f) Media/News Channels and (g) Photographers (Professional/Media). As per the competition general public can send/upload their selfies to the MCC through social media tools i.e. Facebook page- Plastic Free Chandigarh (@SwachhCityChd), Instagram- prdmccsocialmedia, Twitter- @SwachhCityChd, Linkedin- linkedin.com/in/swachhcitychd and Gmail- [email protected] 30th September, 2019 using cloth bags for their routine usage; shopkeepers giving cloth bags to the customers; NGOs/institutions distributing free cloth bags to the public, Media covering encouraging stories in the Newspapers, Photographers clicking best picture during the Plastic Free City campaign. The MCC will give away prizes to the 10 winners selected randomly from each category at the mega event scheduled to be organized on 2nd October, 2019.
During the programme Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh will conduct different awareness programmes besides taking measures to reduce plastic from the city. He said that a mass awareness campaign against the use of plastic under the theme “Plastic Mukt Bharat” would be conducted throughout city. During the campaign different programmes would be conducted in three phases i.e. from 11th September to 1st October, 2019 awareness programmes; “Shramdaan” as mass movement on 2nd October in 2nd phase and Recycle/disposal of collected plastic waste, leading to a plastic free Diwali programmes from 3rd October to 27th October, 2019 in 3rd Phase, the Mayor said.
Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner said that the awareness campaigns of MCC would be focused to ensure that all the coming festivals are zero-waste and plastic free events to make “Plastic Free City”. He said that each and every stakeholder of the city will be involved in this campaign. He said that seminars would be organized in schools, colleges and other educational institutions on plastic free Chandigarh. Volunteers of NSS, NCC, Scouts& Guide would be roped in this mass campaign.
The Commissioner said that MCC would identify locations for plastic waste collection and segregation; to plan transportation & logistic of plastic to collection hub; to integrate in formal rag pickers, junk dealers, recyclers into the formal waste management system; to set up adequate number of material recovery facilities to handle recyclable/processing of plastic waste and incentivize citizens to deposit plastic waste at ULB-authorized collection centres.
He said that mass level programmes would be conducted on 2nd October to take pledge for a plastic waste free city and organize “Shramdaan” for plastic waste collection in order to make Chandigarh plastic free. One day of every month will be earmarked as “Plastic Free day” in Chandigarh.
The Adviser, Mayor & Commissioner also started signature campaign against the use of plastic in the city. In addition to that a display van has also been flagged off by the Adviser, which will roam throughout city to encourage citizens about not to use plastic items.
Earlier, the Adviser, Mayor, Commissioner, officers & officials of MCC, representatives of NGOs, College Students, and representatives of Resident Welfare Associations took an oath against use of plastic. Nukkarnataks, flash mob, magic show, live band show and other fun & frolic games to involve general public against the use of plastic were also staged by different professional groups and college students. The Adviser, Mayor and Commissioner distributed cloth bags to public and also told people not to use plastic bags and handed over cloth bags.

नवीन एवं नवीनीकरण उर्जा विभाग द्वारा सोलर पंप स्थापित करने के 75 प्रतिशत अनुदान दिया जा रहा है। इस योजना के तहत आवेदन करने की तिथि 31 अगस्त थी, जिसे सरकार ने बढ़ाकर 30 सितंबर तक कर दिया है। इस योजना का लाभ किसानों के साथ साथ गौशाला संचालक, वाॅटर यूजर एसोसियेशन और सामुहिक सिंचाई से जुड़ी संस्थायें और संस्थान भी ले सकते है।
अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त एवं नवीन नवीनीकरण उर्जा के मुख्य परियोजना अधिकारी मनीता मलिक ने बताया कि इस योजना के तहत तीन होर्स पाॅवर से दस होर्स पाॅवर तक के सोलर पंप उपलब्ध करवाने का प्रावधान है। उन्होंने बताया कि इन सोलर पंप पर आने वाले खर्च पर सरकार द्वारा 75 प्रतिशत अनुदान दिया जाता है। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि वहीं किसान सोलर पंप योजना के पात्र होंगे, जिन्होंने सुक्षम सिंचाई प्रणाली अथवा भूमिगत पाईप लाईन बिछाई है। जिन किसानों ने अभी तक यह दोनों पद्धतियां नहीं अपनाई और वे इन्हें अपनाने के लिये सहमत है, वे भी योजना का लाभ उठा सकते है।
उन्होंने बताया कि योजना का लाभ लेने के लिये इच्छुक व्यक्ति सरल पोर्टल पर 31 अगस्त तक आॅन लाईन आवेदन कर सकते है। उन्होंने कहा कि आॅफ लाइन आवेनद स्वीकार नहीं किये जायेंगे । इस योजना के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त कार्यालय के परियोजना अधिकारी राजेंद्र कुमार से व्यक्तिगत तौर पर मिलकर अथवा मोबाइल नंबर 7986033796 या दूरभाष नंबर 0172-2582337 से प्राप्त की जा सकती है।

स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान 11 सितम्बर से 24 अक्तूबर चलाया जा रहा है। इस बारे आज स्थानीय नगर परिषद के सभागार में जिला स्वच्छता समन्वयक व सलाहकार सुखविंद्र सिंह ने स्वच्छता कर्मियों की बैठक ली। उन्होंने कहा कि वे गांव-गांव जाकर लोगों को जागरूक करें तथा प्लास्टिक व पॉलिथिन से होने वाले नुकसान के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करें। आमजन को भी अभियान का हिस्सा बनने के लिए जागरूक करें।
उन्होंने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा 11 सितम्बर से 27 अक्तूबर स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि माननीय प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा जिला के सभी सरपंचो को उनके नाम पत्र भेजा गया है जिसमें प्रधानमंत्री ने सभी सरपंचों से अपील की है कि देश को कचरा व प्लास्टिक मुक्त बनाया जाए। इस अभियान के तहत जिला को कचरा मुक्त करने के लिए लोगों को स्वच्छता के बारे में जागरूक किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि 2 अक्तूबर 2019 को महात्मा गांधी जयंती पर जिला के सभी गांवों में विशेष श्रमदान अभियान चलाया जाएगा, जिसके सभी गांवों की सफाई करवाई जाएगी तथ ग्रामवासियों को भी सहयोग लिया जाएगा। सभी बढचढ कर इस अभियान में भाग लेंगे।
उन्होंने बताया कि जिले में गंदगी के ढेर व जगह-जगह पड़े प्लास्टिक तथा पॉलिथिन को इकट्ठा करवाया जाएगा। प्लास्टिक व पॉलिथिन के स्थान पर दूसरी अन्य वस्तुओं कपड़ों तथा मिटटी के बर्तनों के प्रयोग के बारे में आमजन को जागरूक किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस अभियान के तहत जिला के सभी लोगों को इस अभियान में जोड़ा जाएगा।
