Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor (VC), Panjab University (PU), urged all to work unitedly for promoting excellence in all fields and this being much more relevant with respect to the visit of NAAC Team to PU in 2022, while addressing the PU staff members on the occasion of New Year at the Administrative Block of the PU Campus here today. On this occasion, he released the PU Calendar 2020 in the presence of Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions, Prof Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations and Sh. Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer. While greeting all on the occasion of New Year, PU VC solicited support from all to face all the challenges effectively for the betterment of the University. He underlined that all the demands of the administrative staff of the University is their right and it is his duty as the Head of the Institution to see that how it can be fulfilled.
Prof. Shankarji Jha extended his warm wishes to the staff on the occasion and urged them to commit themselves for effective governance and taking PU to further heights. Prof. Karamjeet Singh while addressing on the occasion said that we all part of big family and with the support of all, various initiatives during the year have seen the light of the day, which further has been instrumental in the speedy disposal of time-bound activities. Prof Parvinder Singh and Sh. Nayyar also addressed the gathering and extended their warm wishes on the occasion.

सिरसा। जिला पुलिस द्वारा चलाए जा रहे विशेष अभियान के तहत कार्रवाई करते हुए विभिन्न स्थानों पर गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान चार युवकों को 28 ग्राम 70 मिलीग्राम हेरोइन के साथ काबू किया है। प्रथम घटना में सीआईए डबवाली पुलिस टीम ने गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान मंड़ी कालांवाली क्षेत्र से बूध सिंह उर्फ लक्खा सिंह पुत्र लीली सिंह निवासी पक्कां शहीदा को 18 ग्राम हेरोइन के साथ काबू किया है। सीआईए डबवाली प्रभारी इंस्पैक्टर कुलदीप सिंह ने बताया कि पकड़े गए युवक से सप्लायर के बारे में नाम पता मालूम कर दो लोगों के खिलाफ थाना कालांवाली में मादक पदार्थ अधिनियम के तहत अभियोग दर्ज कर लिया है। सीआईए डबवाली पुलिस टीम के सहायक उप निरीक्षक सुरेश कुमार के नेतृत्व में एक पुलिस टीम गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान मंडी कालांवाली क्षेत्र में मौजूद थी । इसी दौरान सामने से आ रहे युवक ने पुलिस पार्टी को देखकर वापिस मुड़कर भागने की कोशिश की तो शक के बिनाह पर उक्त युवक को काबू कर उसकी तलाशी लेने पर उसके कब्जा से 18 ग्राम हेरोइन बरामद हुई । पकड़े गए युवक को अदालत में पेश कर रिमांड़ पर लिया जाएगा और रिमांड़ अवधि के दौरान हेरोइन तस्करी के इस नेटवर्क से जुडे अन्य लोगो के बारे में नाम पता मालूम कर उनके खिलाफ भी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
रानियां थाना पुलिस ने गस्त व चैकिंग के दौरान गांव संतनगर क्षेत्र से दो युवको को 5 ग्राम 40 मिलीग्राम हेरोइन के साथ काबू किया है । पकड़े गए युवकों की पहचान अजय सिंह पुत्र बलदेव सिंह व गुरजंट सिंह पुत्र जोगिंद्र सिंह निवासीयान गांव संतनगर के रुप में हुई है। इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए रानियां थाना प्रभारी इंस्पैक्टर साधु राम ने बताया कि पकड़े गए युवकों के खिलाफ थाना रानियां में मादक पदार्थ अधिनियम के तहत अभियोग दर्ज कर लिया है । उन्होने बताया कि जीवन नगर चौकी प्रभारी उप निरीक्षक कृष्ण कुमार के नेतृत्व में एक पुलिस टीम गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान गांव संतनगर क्षेत्र में मौजूद थी। इसी दौरान सामने से आ रहे युवकों ने पुलिस पार्टी को देखकर वापिस मुड़कर भागने की कोशिश की तो शक के बिनाह पर उक्त दोनो युवकों को काबू कर उनकी तलाशी लेने पर उनके कब्जा से 5 ग्राम 40 मिली ग्राम हेरोइन बरामद हुई। इधर शहर थाना पुलिस ने गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान शहर के रानियां रोड क्षेत्र से युवक को 5 ग्राम 30 मिलीग्राम हेरोइन के साथ काबू किया है । पकड़े गए युवक की पहचान कर्ण उर्फ काकू पुत्र श्याम लाल निवासी बाबा बिहारी वाली गली रानियां रोड सिरसा के रुप में हुई है। इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए शहर थाना प्रभारी सब इंस्पैक्टर सत्यवान ने बताया कि पकड़े गए युवक से सप्लायर के बारे में नाम पता मालूम कर दो लोगो के खिलाफ थाना शहर सिरसा में मादक पदार्थ अधिनियम के तहत अभियोग दर्ज कर सप्लायर की तलाश शुरू कर दी है । उन्होने बताया कि सब्जी मंड़ी चौकी प्रभारी महिला सहायक उप निरीक्षक राजकौर के नेतृत्व में एक पुलिस टीम गश्त व चैकिंग के दौरान रानियां रोड़ क्षेत्र में मौजूद थी । इसी दौरान सामने से आ रहे युवक ने पुलिस पार्टी को देखकर वापिस मुड़कर भागने की कोशिश की तो शक के बिनाह पर उक्त युवक को काबू कर उसकी तलाशी लेने पर उसके कब्जा से 5 ग्राम 30 मिली ग्राम हेरोइन बरामद हुई।

Chandigarh, January 1:- Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh today visited the temporary Night Shelters to take stock of facilities provided over there and health & hygiene. During the visit the Administrator also distributed blankets to the inmates living in these night shelters.
The Administrator visited four night shelters including night shelter near PGI, Sector 12, near Govt. Hospital, Sector 16, near local bus stand, Sector 17 and Sector 19, Chandigarh.
The Administrator applauded the efforts of MCC Commissioner Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS and his team to provide such kind of facility to the needy people by analysing with respect to human needs of homeless the city. He also appreciated the facilities provided to the inmates living in these night shelters.
During the visit Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC apprised the Administrator about the facilities provided by the MCC to homeless at night shelters vis-à-vis water proof tent, wooden flooring, synthetic carpet on wooden flooring, provision of lighting system, emergency light, water camphor with disposal glasses, quilt, mattresses, durie, pillow, bed sheet, blanket, First AID box, heater, CCTV Camera, torch, register for enrolment, Security Guard 24X7, two staff (Day and night), fire extinguisher etc.
In addition to that the Administrator also visited Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh and appreciated the cleanliness over there and making the plaza area live to the visitors as well as the citizens.

सिरसा। वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक डा. अरुण सिंह ने कहा कि आमजन के साथ मैत्रीपूर्ण व्यवहार कर उनका सहयोग लें और अपराध व अपराधियों से सख्ती से निपटे। गैर कानूनी धंधा करने वालों के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे पुलिस के अभियान में तेजी लाए और थानों में फरियाद लेकर आने वाले लोगों की शिकायतों का प्राथमिकता के आधार पर सुनवाई करें। वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक आज अपने कार्यालय में पुलिस अधिकारियों की बैठक को संबोधित कर रहे थे। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि नियमित गश्त को तेज करें और संदिग्ध मार्गों पर नाकाबंदी कर आने-जाने वाले वाहनों को चैक करे। विभिन्न मामलों में वांछित आरोपितों की धरपकड़ तेज करें। अदालतों में चल रहे मुकदमों की बेहतर ढंग से पैरवी करें, ताकि अपराध करने वाला साक्ष्यों के अभाव में बच न पाए। वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक डॉ. अरुण सिंह ने सभी थाना प्रभारियों को निर्देश दिए कि महिला विरुद्ध अपराधों को गंभीरता से लें और शीघ्र कार्रवाई करें। इस दौरान वरिष्ठï पुलिस अधीक्षक डॉ. अरुण सिंह ने उपस्थित सभी पुलिस कर्मियों को नववर्ष की बधाई देते हुए उनके उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना की। इस मौके पर डीएसपी आर्यन चौधरी, नर सिंह, कुलदीप बैनीवाल व राजेश चेची सहित सभी एसएचओ व चौकी प्रभारी मौजूद थे।

सर्द मौसम के मद्देनजर उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने जिलावासियों के लिए बचाव संबंधी हिदायतें जारी की है।
उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने बताया कि प्रदेश में चल रहे सर्द मौसम के मद्देनजर जिलावासियों को सर्दी से बचाव के लिए जरूरी सावधानी बरतने की सलाह दी जाती है। उन्होंने कहा कि जहां तक संभव हो, चारदीवारी के भीतर रहना चाहिए ताकि सर्द हवाओं से बचाव हो सके। मीडिया तंत्र के माध्यम से मौसम संबंधी जानकारी लेते रहें। अपने आसपास रहने वाले अकेले व्यक्तियों, विशेषकर वृद्घजनों की देखरेख करें। घर, रहने के कमरे व शरीर को गर्म रखने के संभावित उपाय जरूर सुनिश्चित करें। इसके लिए गर्म खाद्य एवं पेय पदार्थों तथा गर्म कपड़ों का अधिक से अधिक इस्तेमाल करें।
उन्होंने कहा कि घर से बाहर निकलते समय मफलर व टोपी आदि का इस्तेमाल करें। सर्द हवाओं से बचने के लिए सिर को ढककर रखें। शरीर को गीला न रहने दें और गीले होने पर कपड़ों को तुरंत बदलें। शरीर को गर्म रखने के लिए पौष्टिïक भोजन करें। शरीर का तापमान कम होने अथवा असामान्य संकेत दिखाई दें, हाइपोथर्मिया, अनियंत्रित कंपकंपी, स्मृति हानि, भटकाव, असंयम, अत्यधिक थकावट हो तो तुरंत चिकित्सक से सलाह लें।
सिविल सर्जन डा. विरेश भूषण ने आमजन से अनुरोध किया है कि शीत लहर के चलते गर्म कपड़ें पहनकर रखे, अधिकतर घरो मे रहे, बुजुर्गों व बच्चो का खासकर ध्यान रखे, गर्म पानी व पुष्टिक आहार का सेवन करे,सिर व पैरो को ढककर रखे,कोयले वाली अंगीठी का उपयोग खुले व हवादार कमरे मे ही करे। मौसम विभाग द्वारा जारी अलर्ट को ध्यान मे रखे। उन्होंने बताया कि अपने आस पास रहने वाले अकेले व निसहाय व्यक्ति का ध्यान रखे। किसी व्यक्ति में हाइपोथरमिया या फ्रोस्टबाइट के लक्षण होने पर जैसे कि शरीर का ठंडा पडऩा उँगलियो का सुन व सफेद होना, शरीर का पीला पडऩा या फि र बेहोशी जैसे लक्षण आने पर तुरंत नजदीकी स्वास्थ्य केंद्र पर संपर्क करें।
