30th Mango Mela at Pinjore Garden: More than 300 mango varieties to be on display
Panchkula, July 6 – The 30th Mango Mela will be organized at the Yadavindra Gardens, Pinjore from July 7 to 9. The three-day event, jointly organized by the Haryana Tourism Corporation, Horticulture Department, and district administration, will showcase more than 300 varieties of mangoes.
During a press conference held at the Red Bishop Complex today, Managing Director of Haryana Tourism Corporation, Sh. Neeraj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni, and Director General of Horticulture Department, Dr. Arjun Saini, provided details about the event.
Sh. Neeraj Kumar, MD of Tourism, informed that the fair will be inaugurated on July 7 by Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. Jai Parkash Dala. Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, will be the chief guest on July 8, and Tourism Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony on July 9.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni assured complete cooperation and informed that necessary guidelines had been given to district officials to make all arrangements during the fair. She mentioned that four parking areas had been designated for the event, and police officers were directed to ensure smooth traffic flow and proper parking for visitors. She also urged the citizens of Panchkula and nearby areas to bring their families and enjoy the fair.
On this occasion, a calendar of the event is also released.
Director General of Horticulture Department, Dr. Arjun Saini provided information about the various activities and arrangements at the fair.
It was informed that visitors will be treated with enthralling cultural performances, crafts bazaar and a multi-cuisine food court. Competitions will also be organized for children, making the fair an enjoyable experience for all age groups. A large number of mango growers from across the country will participate in the fair and showcase their varieties of mangoes.
Over 4,000 entries of different mango varieties are likely to be received from mango growers from different states. Cultural programs, featuring renowned artists, will begin each day from 6:30 pm onwards. Notable performances include Navdeep Wadali (Indian Idol Fame) on July 7, H.P. Police orchestra on July 8, and Prabh Gill’s live performance on July 9.
ADC Panchkula Varsha Khangwal, SDM Panchkula Mamta Sharma, SDM Kalka Ruchi Singh Bedi, City Magistrate Rajesh Punia, and other officers from the Tourism, Horticulture, and district administration were also present on this occasion.
