Bhagavad Gita is way of Living
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh was honoured
as “Management Guru” by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on
online Zoom program for his outstanding contribution in imparting Vedic knowledge to
students for their upliftment in moral values and to become good citizen. By his
endeavour a one-year Certificate course on “Upanishad & Gita” was started on 21st
November 2020 under the Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University. He stressed that
Bhagavad Gita is not a religious book but it’s a way of living. Bhagavad Gita
teaches us about doing our karma perfectly without desiring for any result or
outcome. He also stressed that Bhagvad Gita awareness and teachings should reach
each and every youth of Panjab University. He thanked ISKCON authorities for this
honour and doing all spiritual activities in Panjab University campus.
Prof. Raj Kumar assured that Panjab University will keep on supporting the
institutions that support and spread the spiritual education among the masses which
is the need of the hour in order to deal with the chaotic lifestyle. The award was
presented by Nand Maharaj Das, Regional Secretary, ISKCON, Chandigarh and Panchkula.
The award was physically presented to the Vice Chancellor in his office on
9th March by Akrur Nandan Das, President ISKCON Chandigarh. Nand Maharaj Das told
that ISKCON Chandigarh keeps on doing regular spiritual programs for the students of
Panjab University to make them good human beings and make their lives stress free.
Students who are fully satisfied and have morality and good character can make the
society healthy. Bhagavad Gita teaches about all these qualities. Akrur Nandan Das,
President, ISKCON Chandigarh, briefed about the teachings of Bhagavad Gita in day to
day life of students.
Prof. Virender Alankar, Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit, PU, assured
that all the students who will be joining this Upanishad and Gita course will be
immensely benefited in their lives. It will make their life blissful. At last H.G.
