An Interactive Session on “ODL Regulations 2020 and Issues concerning NEP 2020 Implementation in Distance Education Institutions” at CDOE, Panjab University.
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, hosted an interactive session titled “ODL Regulations 2020” today in its auditorium. The session focused on discussing the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Regulations 2020 and the challenges in implementing the New Education Policy 2020 in distance education institutions. Mr. Vinod Singh Yadav, Deputy Secretary of UGC-DEB, served as the resource person for the event, delivering a detailed presentation on both topics. Following the presentation, there was an hour-long interaction where over a dozen faculty members from CDOE raised queries, concerns, and challenges related to ODL, aiming to enhance online education accessibility, inclusivity, and learner-friendliness. Several questions were also posed regarding the implementation challenges of the National Education Policy 2020 and it’s implementation at CDOE, PU in the forthcoming session. University officials including the Registrar, Finance Development Officer, Dean of Alumni Relations, Controller of Examinations, ex-Dean of Student Welfare and Fellow PU, and Director of the Computer Centre were present at the event and engaged in discussions with the UGC official. Prof. Harsh Gandhar, Director of CDOE, welcomed the resource person and university officials at the beginning of the session. She provided an overview of the milestones achieved by its HEI Panjab University and CDOE ( formerly USOL). It was under ODL Regulations 2020 that the department nomenclature had to be changed to CDOE. The session was facilitated by Prof. Supreet Kaur, and
