40th All India Police Equestrian Championship & Mounted Police Duty Meet 2021-22
Bhanu- ITBP, the sentinels of Himalayan borders, is hosting the 40th All India Police Equestrian Championship & Mounted Police Duty Meet 2021-22. which is being organized at Basic Training Centre, Bhanu, Panchkula, Haryana w.e.f. 02 April 2022 to 11 April 2022. The opening ceremony of the Championship will be on 2ND April 2022.
Shri Ishwar singh Duhan, IG, BTC held a press conference. Where he briefed media about the incoming Championship and extended invitation to media as well as general public to have a feel of event where passes will be issued to all enthusiast.
Championship is dedicated to ace ITBP horse “Thunderstrom” and has been named after him. He won first silver medal in six bar. In 2016 he got first best horse medal by D.G ITBP. In November 2016, he won national medal in eventing with his trainer and rider DC/vet Raveshwar Singh Rana. He won one bronze and one silver medal in National Equestrian Championship in dressage and also won first international medal in FEI world challenge dressage in 2017. In 2018, he won 3 gold and 1 silver in national dressage and one bronze in FEI WORLD CHALLENGE DRESSAGE prix saint Georges. He won total 28 medals Including 11 national and 2 international medals.
04 teams of the Central Armed Police Forces and 13 teams of State police are participating in this Championship. Total 501players along with 275 horses will be competing in 31st categories in the 10 days long championship (From 2 to 11 April, 2022).
The All India Police Games are co-ordinated by All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB) . The history of the games goes back to 70 years and the first edition of all India Police games were held in 1951. The closing ceremony of the Championship will be held on 11 April 2022.
