*Kirron Kher inaugurates State of Art Community centre at Sector 52*
*Chandigarh November 25:-* Smt. Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, UT, Chandigarh today inaugurated state of art Community Centre at Kajheri, Sector 52, here in presence of Sh. Anup Gupta, Mayor, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Lakhbir Singh, area councillor, other councilors and prominent persons of the area.
While addressing the gathering, the Member Parliament said that the Community centers offer an opportunity for people to become involved in a wide range of activities. They promote a sense of belonging and social inclusion. They provide a place where the community can meet and engage in collective activities. She said the centers are strategically located to serve the citizens which are used for cultural programmes, to organize marriages and for other social activities.
She said the idea of the community centre is to offer a place where all members of the community from young to old can meet for various activities. All too often it’s the only such place available in a community.
On the occasion, City Mayor Sh. Anup Gupta said that the community centre building has been constructed covering area of 93798 Sq. Ft. Rupees 7.22 crores have been incurred in the construction of the building at Kajheri, Sector 52. He said that this community centre has capacity to accommodate 500 people in one time party at the main hall and sufficient parking space.
He said that the community centre was best of its kind in Chandigarh and consisting of main hall of 89’x55’ and room for Sampark centre, care taker room, bridal room, dormitory room with dressing room, office and toilets for ladies and gents in the ground floor. While indoor games, lobby, library, meeting rooms, open terrace and toilets for ladies and gents in the first floor.
The Mayor said that this community centre is a good asset to the residents of local area as they can organize parties and other programmes in very nominal government rates near their doorsteps.
