University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development, Panjab University, Chandigarh celebrated Vigilance Week. Various activities like seminar and competitions like T-shirt painting, poetry recital and reel creation on the theme ‘Anti-Corruption’ and undertaking integrity pledge were conducted throughout the week to create awareness against corruption among the students.

The seminar was on the theme “Say no to corruption, commit to the nation”. The resource person for the session was advocate NavnikaTuteja. She addressed students and inspired them to combat corruption. She discussed the detrimental effects of corruption on various sectors, encouraging students to play an active role in the fight against it. Advocate Tuteja stressed the importance of awareness and individual commitment in this endeavour. Her real-world examples and relatable anecdotes resonated with the audience, fostering meaningful discussions. The event provided a platform for students to engage with an advocate dealing with such cases and left a lasting impact, empowering the future leaders of Panjab University.

Many students participated in a reel making competition. Smali, Yogita, Himanshi, Preet, Sapna and Ardas from  BSc Fashion &Lifestyle Technology Semester 3,  highlighted the issue of bribery by acting in their reel, which was awarded the first position. Anjali, Kali, Jashan and Mitanshali, from Semester 3, conveyed the message of anti-corruption through pictures and quotes in their reel, and were awarded the second position. Arun and Tushar, M.Sc. Semester 3, used drawing as a medium to convey the message of No Corruption in their reel which was awarded third position.

In the poetry recital competition Arsh and Pratigya of B.Sc. semester 3 were awarded with first and second position, respectively. Participants enthusiastically participated in T-Shirt Paintingwhere Kajal, Mandeep, and Raina of B.Sc. Semester 1 bagged first , second and third positions respectively.All faculty, research scholars, staff and students took an integrity pledge to be vigilant and corruption free. The participants pledged to follow the highest standard of integrity in all walks of life.Ms. Arushi, Ms. Ginni, Ms. Kulbir and Ms. Akanksha, Junior Research Fellows at UIFT conducted these events.

Kick started with the integrity pledge on October 31, 2023, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University (UIAMS) celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week by conducting workshop and expert talks.

A workshop on Cyber Security was conducted by Mr. Nakul Phull, a renowned expert in the field of Cyber Security. Mr. Phull began the seminar by discussing the importance of Cyber Security in today’s digital age. He highlighted the various threats that individuals and organizations face in the cyber world, including hacking, phishing, and identity theft. He also discussed the various measures that can be taken to protect oneself from these threats, such as using strong passwords, keeping software up-to-date, and being cautious while sharing personal information online. The seminar also covered the various career opportunities available in the field of Cyber Security. Mr. Phull discussed the growing demand for Cyber Security professionals and the various skills required to succeed in this field. He also shared his own experiences and insights on the industry. The seminar was highly informative and engaging, with attendees actively participating in the discussions and asking questions. The event was a great success, providing valuable insights into the world of Cyber Security and its importance in today’s digital age.

Another talk on “Digital Detoxification” by Mr. BK Sourav Garg was organised in collaboration with Brahmakumaris. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of taking a break from digital devices and social media to improve mental health and well-being. Mr. Garg shared his insights on the topic and provided practical tips on how to reduce screen time and manage digital addiction.The seminar was well-received, and participants appreciated the opportunity to learn more about digital detoxification and its benefits.

An Expert talk on Mental Health was organised in association with the Department of Laws, under the event “Brave Talk” which was supported by the Global Cosmetic Brand Maybelline, New York in partnership with the organization “We are Yuvaa”. Ms.Vaibhavi Rani Maske, a Mental Health Advocate and a professional lawyer, was the key resource for this talk. She spoke about the rising concern for mental health among young people. She stressed the importance of seeking help and breaking the stigma associated with mental health issues. In addition to providing students with helpful tips for managing their mental health, Ms Vaibhavi assisted them in identifying symptoms requiring mental health treatment. The session concluded with a Q&A session.Professor Monika Aggarwal, Director, UIAMS, and Professor Jyoti Rattan from Department of Laws facilitated the expert speakers. Around 500 Faculty, Research Scholars, and Students from UIAMS and the Department of Laws attended the session. Mr. Shrey, Mr. Navpreet, Mr. Nipun, Ms. Pihu were the students coordinating the event.

मंच के सदस्य उपभोक्ताओं की बिजली संबंधी समस्याओं की करेंगे सुनवाई

पंचकूला, 5 नवम्बर – उत्तर हरियाणा बिजली वितरण निगम उपभोक्ताओं को निर्बाध बिजली की आपूर्ति उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।उपभोक्ताओं की समस्याओं के त्वरित समाधान के लिए निगम द्वारा अनेक महत्वाकांक्षी कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं ।

इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए निगम के प्रवक्ता ने बताया की उत्तर हरियाणा बिजली वितरण निगम पंचकूला के उपभोक्ता शिकायत निवारण मंच के चेयरमैन एवं सदस्य मंच की कार्यवाही 7 नवम्बर (मंगलवार) को सुबह 11:30 बजे से अधीक्षण अभियंता, पंचकूला के कार्यालय, एस सी ओ नंबर-96, पहली मंजिल, सेक्टर-5, पंचकूला में की जाएगी।    
        
 उन्होंने बताया की मंच के सदस्य, पंचकूला जिले के उपभोक्ताओं की सभी प्रकार की समस्याओं की सुनवाई करेंगे जिनमें मुख्यतः बिलिंग, वोल्टेज, मीटरिंग से सम्बंधित शिकायतें, कनैक्शन काटने और जोड़ने बिजली आपूर्ति में बाधाएं, कार्यकुशलता, सुरक्षा, विश्वसनीयता में कमी और हरियाणा बिजली विनियामक आयोग के आदेशों की अवहेलना आदि शामिल हैं । बहरहाल, मंच द्वारा बिजली अधिनियम की धारा 126 तथा धारा 135 से 139 के अन्तर्गत बिजली चोरी और बिजली के अनधिकृत उपयोग के मामलों में दंड तथा जुर्माना और धारा 161 के अन्तर्गत जांच एवं दुर्घटनाओं से सम्बंधित मामलों की सुनवाई नहीं की जाएगी।

  उन्होंने बताया की सभी उपभोक्ताओं से अनुरोध किया गया है कि वे अपनी शिकायतों के निवारण के लिए इस अवसर का लाभ अवश्य उठाएं ।

पंचकूला 5 नवंबर : परिवार पहचान पत्र (पीपीपी) में त्रुटियों को ठीक कराने के लिए उपभोक्ताओं को कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर में चक्कर काटने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी । नागरिक संसाधन सूचना विभाग ने पीपीपी में आमजन के लिए सिटिजन लॉगिन की सुविधा का विकल्प दिया है।

अब आमजन घर से ही अपने मोबाइल, लैपटॉप के माध्यम से किसी भी प्रकार के सत्यापन का ब्योरा देख सकेंगे।परिवार के मुखिया की मृत्यु होने की स्थिति में स्वजन नये मोबाइल नंबर को भी अपडेट कर सकेंगे।

उपायुक्त सुशील सारवान ने बताया है कि सरकार ने आमजन की परेशानियों को समझते हुए नया विकल्प दिया है।उन्होंने बताया कि नए मॉडयूल में आमजन को कई सुविधाएं मिलेंगी। कोई भी व्यक्ति सीधे पीपीपी की साइट पर पहुंचकर सिटीजन लॉगिन की सुविधा का लाभ उठा सकेगा।आय, जन्म तिथि , जाति, दिव्यांगता का ब्योरा सत्यापित हुआ कि नहीं खुद ही जांच सकेंगे। पीपीपी में बैंक अकाउंट सत्यापित हुआ कि नहीं इसका भी सिटीज़न लॉगिन से पता कर सकेंगे।अभी तक सत्यापन के लिए भी लंबी कतारों में लगना पड़ता था।दूसरा फायदा यह होगा कि पीपीपी में दर्ज परिवार के मुखिया की मृत्यु होने या मोबाइल नंबर बंद होने की स्थिति में स्वजन दूसरा नंबर अपडेट करा सकेंगे। इसके लिए डेथ सर्टिफिकेट जरूरी होगा।

Enactus SSBUICET team of Panjab University added another feather in cap by bagging First Runner-Up position at InnoVision Challenge held at IIT Ropar today. It was an intellectually stimulating Case Study Competition themed “Where Innovation meets Culture”. It brought together an array of talented individuals from diverse academic backgrounds to test their problem-solving prowess, conveyed Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team.

Enactus PU team, led by Mahi Jha, Project Director, Gaurav Rauthan, Project Executive and Aditi Prakash, Vice President, Enactus showcased their innovative problem-solving skills and emerged as the First Runner-up in this fiercely competitive event. Their remarkable performance reflects their commitment to excellence and their ability to tackle real-world challenges with critical thinking and exceptional presentation abilities, said Amitoj Kaur, content head of Enactus team.

Reflecting on their experience, Mahi Jha, Project Director, expressed that InnoVision provided them with an incredible platform to demonstrate their passion for problem-solving and innovation and they were grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow.

Gaurav Rauthan, Project Executive added that the competition was intense and it pushed them to think outside the box and said that they are feeling proud to have represented Enactus Panjab University and to have made an impact.

Aditi Prakash, Vice President, further emphasized the importance of such competitions in fostering skills, stating that InnoVision encouraged them to push their boundaries, work cohesively as a team and present their solutions effectively.

Prof. Jatinder Grover, Dean Student Welfare conveyed that InnoVision was a significant event and Enactus Panjab University’s First Runner-up position is a testament to the dedication to innovation and excellence of Enactus team.

The team’s journey to success is marked by their resilience, creativity and passion for making a positive impact in the world said Shubham Dhiman, President of Enactus team. He thanked for the unwavering support and mentorship of Prof. Kapoor throughout the journey as her guidance has been instrumental in Enactus’s continuous success.
